This little distinguished gentleman was brought to an animal hospital as a stray. He didn’t have a microchip, but every effort was made to find his owner (social media, flyers, etc.). When no owner came forward, one of the employees at the animal hospital decided to foster him. He was un-neutered at the time he was found, but he has been fixed and microchipped since.  Because we don’t know his backstory, his age is unknown. The vet guesses he’s 10-12 years old. He has a pretty significant heart murmur, but it’s being managed well by medication (which he takes very well). His foster mom has been working with him on crate training. He does well with it overnight and while she’s away at work.  His very favorite thing is to be snuggled on the couch (preferably burrowed under a pile of blankets). He also likes to dance for treats and wiggle on his back in the grass on warm days. He’s not a big fan of his foster mom’s four cats and would probably do best in a feline-free forever home.  Hector had some marking behaviors when he first arrived at his foster home; however, he is doing much better now that he’s neutered. Foster mom has him wear a doggy diaper when she wants to be extra careful.  The adoption fee is $150 which includes their age appropriate vaccinations(DA2PP and Bordetella), Dewormer, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test as well as the registration of their microchip information to you. The first step to adopting is to fill out an application for adoption. Once approved we will arrange a time for you to meet the animal you are interested in. Lane is a true puppy mill survivor.  She is the product of an unethical person that felt selling puppies was more important than the basic well-being of the mother dog producing the puppies to be sold. She has had little contact with humans, and is learning day by day, that not all humans are bad.  She is also learning to be comfortable around every day household sounds like the  washing machine,  the clothes dryer, a hairdryer, the doorbell, etc…  She would do best in an adults only home … or a home with teenagers and adults She can be  a fear biter (especially if quickly grabbed and moved by someone she doesn't know)  …. however,  she is also a loving nibbler, she will lovingly lick and nibble your hand if she is trying to communicate that she likes you. She is scared of anyone walking by her in work boots or heavy boots (such as cowboy boots)    She may carry a toy around (like a puppy) in her mouth and find a quiet, safe spot to keep it or she may play with it when she is happy A physically fenced yard is a must for this little girl …  she is not leash trained and is terrified of being led around on a leash. She would also do best with another dog in the home as puppy mill dogs learned from other dogs. She is crate trained and pee pad trained if confined to one room such as a laundry room - she is currently working on her house manners and doing really well if let out frequently  The adoption fee is $200 which includes their age appropriate vaccinations(DA2PP and Bordetella), Dewormer, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test as well as the registration of their microchip information to you. We are declaring today Melody Monday. We are beaming with pride with how far beautiful Melody has come. Thank you Dog Training Pluto’s Way for all you have done to help her.    Here is what her foster has to say: “She has done amazing!! We love her and she is ready for adoption! She is one of our top 3 favorite fosters! She is smart, ball and food motivated and loves people! I would consider her dog selective as she likes dogs that are just a little bit calmer. She does great with my calm and female and males but my one male that is extremely hyper she does not really like. She can easily be out with my dogs and be completely fine. So I would suggest a home with a calm adult if there was a dog in the house and then a slow introduction. She is absolutely the sweetest girl! And she absolutely loves the game fetch LOL” Melody is only 2 years old and we are excited and hopeful she will find her forever home very soon.
