About Zora

This stunning, almost 3-year-old, silver-grey Dream, is Zora. She's a larger pittie girl who just wants a cozy, low traffic home. Zora was a mama when she came to us at Mostly Muttz Rescue. She was a wonderful nurturer for her pups and as soon as they were old enough, they all found homes quickly. Sadly, Zora is still waiting. This Sweetheart needs just the right person/family to adopt her. You see, Zora has been let down by people so many times in her short life. Because of this, she needs slow, leashed introductions to new people. Zora has to be free to build trust on her timetable. Everyone in this rescue loves her dearly and we want to be sure that when she finally does get adopted, that her new home is full of the understanding a dog like Zora - who has been through so much - needs. We know there is a special home out there where she will be cherished for the unique and wonderful dog that she is..

Zora has been in foster care for quite a while. She's housebroken and crate trained. This girl loves being part of a family so much. She is basically a low energy dog even though she gets the "zoomies" every now and then. One of Zora's favorite activities is receiving her nightly peanut butter bone. Zora has been working on slow intro's to other dogs. She does best with calm, male dogs. The perfect home for her could not have any female dogs. If there are children in the home, for Zora to be comfortable, they would have to be older, considerate kids who understand her deliberate way of learning to trust. Once Zora bonds with you though, what a lover she becomes. She'll give you her whole heart. We hope you can see why we are so determined that she not get that heart broken. If you have a low-traffic, laid back home that needs the love of a one-of-a-kind dog, then come and meet our Sweet, Wonderful Zora. Could you be the one she's been waiting for?

Becks is a pale pooch with a lot of personality. She is one of the perkiest pups you'll ever meet. Becks is a 4-year-old pittie girl with dalmation-like spots on her ears (they're so cute!). Her ideal home would be an active one. She would love to be a running/jogging partner or a hiking companion. This happy girl is a play MACHINE! She loves toys, swimming and accompanying you wherever you may go. She is amazingly comfortable in the car. Having fun and being as active as can be is what Becks is all about. Becks is just like any other female. She is a bit choosy and who can blame her? Lady's prerogative, right? This girl knows what she likes in a dog companion. If you currently have a dog or dogs in your family, a meeting prior to adopting is a must. Becks is a very people friendly dog and she loves kids. When she finally takes a break from being her usual active self, she becomes a SUPER SNUGGLER. Lovin' on YOU and having you love on her is her second favorite thing. Becks is housebroken and crate-trained and does well with basic commands. She is smart and food motivated, so a good treat will nudge her to excel at any given command. Becks is a very unique package of canine character. Are YOU ready to take a run with Becks? You can apply to adopt Becks at www.mostlymuttz.org/adoption-application/. show less

Bennie is a 6-month-old hound mix. This boy loves to play, play, play. He likes all kinds of toys and chews of all textures. Bennie knows how to keep himself entertained. He is not reliant on stimulation from other sources to be content. His coat is very striking. He is all white with brindle patches on his head and hind end. The color of those patches is a very unique tannish/greyish,brownish combination. He has amazing hazel eyes. Bennie is housebroken. He will potty every time you let him outside. He still needs work on indicating he has to potty, though. He does know that the door is what you go through to potty so he will go to the door often. Sometimes that is because he wants to go outside to play. It does not always mean he has to potty. He is crate-trained, rides very nicely in a car and his leash manners are quite good for a pup his age. Bennie absolutely loves to be outside. He much prefers the outdoors to being inside on a nice day. He is inquisitive, though. Like most puppies, he is curious about EVERYTHING. Bennie does great with other dogs but he does get slightly fussy about sharing his toys, in the very beginning of being in a home. He does respond positively to correction and is learning basic commands. This boy can live contentedly with cats. He has very little interest in them and the cats in his foster home had no reaction to him, at all. He will try to play with a cat on occasion. The cats in his foster home are used to this so everything is fine. Skittish cats might not like his playful side. He has a nicely balanced personality in that he has periods when he is active and also periods when he is low energy. He's a good sleeper. Bennie is a terrific pup and would be a great addition to any home. Are you ready to go BONKERS for Bennie? You can apply to adopt Bennie at www.mostlymuttz.org/adoption-application/. show less

Hi! My name is Bernard, but my friends sometimes call me, Hey Handsome. I've been living in rural SC for some time. Originally I was found as a stray, then lived at a shelter for 3 years. The past is the past. I'm a full blown house dog now! I'm a 65 pound kissable bully mix. I love to snuggle and be held. I'm really a big, goofy baby. I'm super smart too! I know all the basic commands: sit, down, give me paw (other paw), drop it, position and place. I walk well on a leash. I'm learning "take a bow" and even know some fun agility tricks! My two favorite things are learning new tricks and trying new foods. Boy, do I love snacks! I don't shed that much and have a medium energy level. Wanna go for a long walk at the park? I'm down! Wanna Netflix and Dog all day? I'm down for that too! I've been living with 3 dog siblings, all female. I love them so much! We wrestle, play fetch, snuggle, and clean each other's faces. I do prefer female dog friends over males. Who can blame a guy for that? Since I lived in a shelter for so long, I do need slower, proper introductions. I’m in a foster home now, and I love playing with my foster sister, chewing on my bones and Kong, practicing new tricks, and snuggling with my foster parents. My mom says that I am the best snuggler ever! I even like to sleep between my foster parents with my head on the pillow like a little human. At first, my foster mom was nervous with me around little humans, but I know to be very gentle. I let little humans play dress up with me and have even let Barbies take rides on my back. I also think really tiny humans are really silly when they squeal in my face and play with my ears, so I like to give them silly kisses in return. My foster mom says I’m a great babysitter. Meet Dixon! Dixon and his brother (Dalton) were found as strays in the south. We estimate him to be 3. His brother was adopted first from us; before Dixon arrived at MMR. Update on Dixon 11/11/18. He has been in foster care in PA for a little over a week and really has blossomed. He has gained some much needed weight, you can no longer count his ribs and he had gained a beautiful muscular physique. He also has more energy to play with his foster brothers and go for long walks. He is most likely under the age of 3, he likes to playfully nibble and bounce around like a big puppy in the yard when playing with his foster brothers. He is becoming quite a respectful house guest and is 95% potty trained, 100% if you keep an eye on him. His coat is shiny and soft. Dixon's favorite passtimes include snuggling in a soft blanket, eating, going for walks or watching movies next to the fireplace. He is an all around sweet good dog. Dixon is incrediably sweet. He loves to snuggle and loves his new life of being a spoiled inside dog. He is a young playful dog that does well with other dogs and cats. He is the typical low energy bull dog but enjoys getting out for walks. He LOVES people large and small, he is a lovable mush as soon as you pet him. He does well in the car. He is EXCELLENT in the crate, he will snuggle in a blanket and you won't hear a peep from him. He will even go in to rest from time to time. Dixon is a lovable easy dog. If you are interested in adding Dixon to your life, please fill out an application at Mostlymuttz.org today. This sweet boy won't be around long! Prior notes on Dixon: Dixon is a 3 year old Bulldog mix who is 40lbs. and good with other dogs He has completed his heart worm treatment and will be headed to PA on Saturday. Eda is a 65 pound Boxer/Shepherd mix with a beautiful red fawn coat, white feet and a splash of white on her chest. She is a happy, healthy girl and her nub wags at the slightest bit of attention. Eda requires a home with older, considerate children where she can be the only pet in the house. She is not good with other dogs or cats. In a home where she is the only pet, she will love, cuddle and shower you with kisses. Eda is, energetic, housebroken and does well walking with an Easy Walk Harness. She knows most basic commands (come, sit, lay down, give a paw). Overall, she is a medium energy dog who occasionally gets excited and runs puppy laps around the yard. In the house, Eda loves to play fetch with her toy duckie. She loves to be with people and will follow you around the house. Eda loves to snuggle on the couch and roll over for belly rubs. Eda prefers women and is comfortable meeting them. She has a protective temperament and male visitors must be introduced slowly and carefully in order to gain her trust. Eda is crate trained and is respectful of her foster home when left alone in the house. She loves car rides and is a great traveler. During a ride you might find her napping on a lap or on the back seat. Eda has waited so long to find just the right person, who can love her for all the things she is - someone for whom her limitations are of no concern. Could that person be YOU? Ginjer is a sweef but extremely shy girl. She feels most secure in her crate but will stay right by you when she is out and about. She is nervous around all new people but given time she will warm up to her person. She does okay with other dogs but does not like them in her face. She does best with calm laid back dogs. And on that same note she would do better with older children who would understand her boundaries. She was left at her home when her family moved out and she waited and waited for them to come back but they never did. She was loyal to them even though they abandoned her! Could you be the family that deserves her love and loyalty? Ginjer- Ginjer has been in the shelter since early December. Her family moved out of their home and left her behind. When animal control was called Ginjer was sleeping on the porch in front of the door waiting for her family that sadly never returned for her. She was so scared and confused that the officers had to trap her to get her to the shelter. She was nervous with everyone at the shelter for a long time but since the day she came in there is just something about her tha t made her quickly become a favorite. She is still nervous with fast movements and takes a little bit of time to warm up to new people but once she knows that you will not hurt her she just wants to be loved. She did pretty well on a leash and she has done well with other dogs. She's been on a leash around cats and she doesn't seem to pay much attention to them. Ginger is 2 yrs old and 58lbs. and would like a home with older considerate children and a family that will never leave her behind again! Grayson is a 2-and-a-half-year-old Bully mix with a lush red/light brown & white coat. Spunky is a word often used to describe this girl's personality. She loves, loves, loves toys. She'll play with them for hours. Doggie kisses and hugs are Grayson's specialty. Her new family will need to continue to teach her to give them gently. Grayson enjoys getting out for a good walk. She is very strong and will need a family who will give her the guidance she needs to improve her leash manners. She is very treat motivated and incredibly smart. With proper, patient training, she will learn to follow your lead. An active family would be ideal for Grayson. She simply loves the outdoors. Grayson can be put off by other dogs. A home without other pets would be ideal for her. Still, this girl has come so far since she came to us and a home with another dog will be considered if proper introductions are done and time is taken to really find out if Grayson would enjoy the copmpany of another dog. She would most likely do better with a dog with a laid back personality. She doesn't like loud dogs. She does best with adults. We think children just have too much energy for her. This lady has been waiting a long time and is ready for a family of her own. Will you give it up for Grayson? You can apply to adopt Grayson at www.mostlymuttz.org/adoption-application/. show less

Harlow & Havoc are sisters who arrived in PA, recently. These 2 beauties are 4-year-old pibble sisters who were rescued from a life lived almost completely on a chain with no one but each other to love them. Now that they are here they are waiting to find a life full of love and human affection. We have had to separate them occasionally since they arrived. Neither of these girls is the same when they are apart. The ideal home for them would be one where they can be together forever. Separate homes will be considered but because they have only ever known the comfort given to one another, we would prefer they stay together. Harlow & Havoc are good with laid back dogs that are their size or larger and older, more respectful children, No cats for these girls. The more quiet of these two sisters is Harlow. This girl is a total snuggler. She loves nothing more than to be petted and loved and she gives back as much as she gets. Harlow is almost all white and she has the most adorable brown eyebrow over her one eye. She can be timid and shy compared to her sister, Havoc, but she is still her own dog. She does not do as well away from Havoc as Havoc does away from her. These girls walk so well together. They are also very good in the car. Both have had a little work on house-training and they have done well. In a home, they should be trained completely in no time. Is your home the one that can give these girls everything they could have ever dreamed of? If you are looking for pittie love times 2, Harlow & Havoc are the ones for YOU. This gorgeous two-year-old is Inari. Inari means 'spirit of the fox' in Japanese and the name fits her perfectly. She is extremely smart, sleek, and exotic looking. This dog has a V8 engine. She is powerful, full of energy and fast. She can play ALL DAY. You should have some experience with a lot of dog in a medium-sized package to appreciate Inari. Inari is very independent. She is highly trainable and learns quickly but she also bores easily and because of this can sometimes seem aloof. She most definitely has an alpha personality. She is good with other dogs as long as they do not challenge her position in the pack. She is good with most male dogs but may not be as compatible with females with strong personalities, similar to hers. A meeting with any other dog that would live in her home would be essential. She is wonderful with puppies and dogs with easy-going personalities. Her foster home has cats and she really has no interested in them at all. Inari is fully housetrained and good in a car. Her leash manners need some work and firm patience will be needed to help her improve this skill. She can jump quite high so a higher fenced yard is required for her home. Inari is extremely loyal, according to her foster Mom. She foresees her as a true partner to her owner. Inari is an exceptional dog. She will need a dog parent whose will is a bit stronger than hers. But the reward you will get if you are that person will definitely be amazing. You can apply to adopt Inari at www.mostlymuttz.org/adoption-application/. show less
