About Babe - Senior

Meet Babe. She is an older girl, 15 years old, whose owner became sick with cancer and could no longer care for her. Babe was living outside and the owner was willing to surrender her to rescue. She is safe and in foster care and would love to find a place to live out her days. She has learned how to give kisses.

Babe wonders why she hasn't found her forever. She doesn't need much, a soft bed, walks in the park, time in the yard. She loves to be outside and enjoys time spent with her people. She is a sweet old lady that loves car rides, walks, roaming the yard and laying on a soft bed next to her very own person.

Babe would most likely do best as the only dog, but a laid back mellow house mate would be okay, too. Babe loves to spend time out in the yard and she also loves walks, she is great on a leash. She really loves her people and would really like to have her own person once again. She could enjoy walking with her person and then rest after by laying at their feet. She is a real sweetheart who really deserves her own home to enjoy her senior years. Could it be yours?

Becks is a pale pooch with a lot of personality. She is one of the perkiest pups you'll ever meet. Becks is a 4-year-old pittie girl with dalmation-like spots on her ears (they're so cute!). Her ideal home would be an active one. She would love to be a running/jogging partner or a hiking companion. This happy girl is a play MACHINE! She loves toys, swimming and accompanying you wherever you may go. She is amazingly comfortable in the car. Having fun and being as active as can be is what Becks is all about. Becks is just like any other female. She is a bit choosy and who can blame her? Lady's prerogative, right? This girl knows what she likes in a dog companion. If you currently have a dog or dogs in your family, a meeting prior to adopting is a must. Becks is a very people friendly dog and she loves kids. When she finally takes a break from being her usual active self, she becomes a SUPER SNUGGLER. Lovin' on YOU and having you love on her is her second favorite thing. Becks is housebroken and crate-trained and does well with basic commands. She is smart and food motivated, so a good treat will nudge her to excel at any given command. Becks is a very unique package of canine character. Are YOU ready to take a run with Becks? You can apply to adopt Becks at www.mostlymuttz.org/adoption-application/. show less

Eda is a 65 pound Boxer/Shepherd mix with a beautiful red fawn coat, white feet and a splash of white on her chest. She is a happy, healthy girl and her nub wags at the slightest bit of attention. Eda requires a home with older, considerate children where she can be the only pet in the house. She is not good with other dogs or cats. In a home where she is the only pet, she will love, cuddle and shower you with kisses. Eda is energetic, housebroken and does well walking with an Easy Walk Harness. She knows most basic commands (come, sit, lay down, give a paw). Overall, she is a medium energy dog who occasionally gets excited and runs puppy laps around the yard. In the house, Eda loves to play fetch with her toy duckie. She loves to be with people and will follow you around the house. Eda loves to snuggle on the couch and will roll over for belly rubs. Eda prefers women and is comfortable meeting them. She has a protective temperament and male visitors must be introduced slowly and carefully in order to gain her trust. Eda is crate trained and is respectful of her foster home when left alone in the house. She loves car rides and is a great traveler. During a ride you might find her napping on a lap or on the back seat. Eda has waited so long to find just the right person, who can love her for all the things she is - someone for whom her limitations are of no concern. Could that person be YOU? Grayson is a 2-and-a-half-year-old Bully mix with a lush red/light brown & white coat. Spunky is a word often used to describe this girl's personality. She loves, loves, loves toys. She'll play with them for hours. Doggie kisses and hugs are Grayson's specialty. Her new family will need to continue to teach her to give them gently. Grayson enjoys getting out for a good walk. She is very strong and will need a family who will give her the guidance she needs to improve her leash manners. She is very treat motivated and incredibly smart. With proper, patient training, she will learn to follow your lead. An active family would be ideal for Grayson. She simply loves the outdoors. Grayson can be put off by other dogs. A home without other pets would be ideal for her. Still, this girl has come so far since she came to us and a home with another dog will be considered if proper introductions are done and time is taken to really find out if Grayson would enjoy the company of another dog. She would most likely do better with a dog with a laid back personality. She does best with adults. We think children just have too much energy for her. This lady has been waiting a long time and is ready for a family of her own. Will you give it up for Grayson? You can apply to adopt Grayson at www.mostlymuttz.org/adoption-application/. show less

This gorgeous three-year-old is Inari. Inari means 'spirit of the fox' in Japanese and the name fits her perfectly. She is extremely smart, sleek, and exotic looking. This dog has a V8 engine. She is powerful, full of energy and fast. She can play ALL DAY. You should have some experience with a lot of dog in a medium-sized package to appreciate Inari. Inari is very independent. She is highly trainable and learns quickly but she also bores easily and because of this can sometimes seem aloof. She most definitely has an alpha personality. She is good with other dogs as long as they do not challenge her position in the pack. She is good with most male dogs but may not be as compatible with females with strong personalities, similar to hers. A meeting with any other dog that would live in her home would be essential. She is wonderful with puppies and dogs with easy-going personalities. Her foster home has cats and she really has no interested in them at all. Inari is fully housetrained and good in a car. Her leash manners need some work and firm patience will be needed to help her improve this skill. She can jump quite high so a higher fenced yard is required for her home. Inari is extremely loyal, according to her foster Mom. She foresees her as a true partner to her owner. Inari is an exceptional dog. She will need a dog parent whose will is a bit stronger than hers. But the reward you will get if you are that person will definitely be amazing. You can apply to adopt Inari at www.mostlymuttz.org/adoption-application/. show less

Let me tell you a little story about a very special boy named James. James is believed to be about 10 years old and has lived the majority of that time outside on a chain without proper food, water, shelter, or love. Finally he was taken from that terrible situation to spend the next 7 months in a shelter waiting for rescue. Mostly Muttz stepped up and put James in a foster home where he could be treated for his heartworm disease. Since arriving to PA in Feb James has adjusted very nicely to life in a house with a family. It only took him a week to get housebroken and crate trained. He knows "sit" and is very food motivated. He loves to snuggle and roll around on couches and beds until he falls off. He's a goofy boy with lots of love to give. He's not very active because of his age but still has some energy in him for short bouts of play, either with another dog or a person. Although James is doing well he is not without some issues from his past that his foster family is working on with him. Being starved his whole life he is now very greedy with his food and needs to be fed away from other dogs. He's fine eating in his crate in the same room as his foster siblings. His foster mom has taught him to share the water bowl so hopefully one day other dogs will be able to eat around him without him wanting their food too. Even though he's come a long way with it since he first arrived, he is still learning boundaries with human food too. He is good with older, calmer children as he doesn't understand when people "rough house". James is good with other dogs but is better with females or smaller males. No cats for this guy though. In regards to James's medical needs, he does have an advanced degree of heartworm disease that is being treated. Due to his level of disease increasing the risk of complications that come with treatment, he is receiving a "slow kill" type of treatment that is less risky. This treatment is easy to administer on a monthly basis but can take upwards of 10 months to ensure all heartworms are eliminated from his system. James also does best with sensitive stomach food because other types of food caused diarrhea. His front teeth are worn down probably from trying to eat anything he could find while starving. This does not hinder his ability to eat or even chew on bones. Besides that he is healthy and once his heartworm disease is cured there is no reason to believe that he doesn't have many more years of life left in him. James is neutered and up to date on vaccinations. You can apply to adopt James at www.mostlymuttz.org/adoption-application/. Note: This animal is currently receiving heartworm treatment through a slow-kill method. show less

What a Beauty! Javanna is a 1-and-a-half-year-old pibble princess with a gorgeous tan and white coat. But Javanna's beauty goes beyond her coat. She is so much more than meets the eye. When given patience and love, she blossoms. She is a dream to walk and knows sit and is fully housebroken and crate trained. Javanna does not do well with children. That is mostly because she becomes very intense around high energy situations. The best home for her would be one that is more laid back. A low energy, low activity environment is where she thrives and is most comfortable. Her new home must be one with persons age 18 or over. Javanna does need some time to get to know new people. We believe that she was not socialized very much as a young dog because she can be quite timid, at times. She becomes warm and affectionate once she becomes familiar with you. Javanna enjoys the company of other dogs. When she is feeling somewhat shy, being with another dog can help her to feel more at ease. A home with another dog would be a plus for her. She has spent some time around cats but it was in a shelter setting and not a home so we are not sure about how she might be with them. Javanna has had a tough start to life. She deserves a happy ending to her story. Will her, Once Upon a Time, begin with YOU? You can apply to adopt Javanna at www.mostlymuttz.org/adoption-application/. Note: Javanna is currently finishing heartworm treatment. show less

Kally is a cocoa colored mix who is a total delight. She is 1-year-old and weighs 38 pounds. This girl is happy and loving! She is good with kids. Kally is a very active girl and she would make an excellent running partner. She is housetrained and crate trained. She does well with other dogs, however, she does have a few preferences regarding them. Kally prefers to eat alone. It would be prudent to feed another dog, in her home, in a different space. Kally also has a tendency to be what we sometimes call an "in your face" type, when she plays. She would do best with a dog that is okay with that. She is NOT aggressive when she plays, she is just very forward. We have no history of her with cats. Kally is extremely intelligent and learns very quickly. She does know some basic commands and is always eager to learn. Her favorite toys are Kongs and one of her favorite foods is peanut butter. She likes anything she can chew. Kally is a great dog and will make a fantastic companion for active people. How 'bout a run with Kally? You can apply to adopt Kally at https://www.mostlymuttz.org/adoption-application/.
