About Sam

This is Sam.  He might have more air travel miles than anyone you know!  GRRACE rescued him from China where his future was in peril.  He is one happy dude learning to live in America.  Sam is about 3 yrs. old, and he’s very healthy.  He does have a dislocated left hind leg knee.  However, he was born with this handicap.  The knee makes him limp a bit when he walks, but at full speed it’s not even noticeable! Since he loves to run, we don’t feel that his knee causes him any pain.  Sam gets along with other dogs, meets people very well, and will be very easy to train.  He’s going to be a great family member!

UPDATE ON SAM!! Sam has made giant strides in well-being and socialization since coming to his foster home in May.  Sam is fun-loving, gentle, and good on a leash.  He loves ice cubes!!

If you have an approved application on file and think you might be the family who can love Sam, please email Marcie.  Please note - no emails will be returned to anyone without an already approved adoption application.

If you have an approved application on file and have read this bio, and feel you are a good home for Cricket, please email Marcie. Hi there, I am Cricket, I'm a 9yo boy, and am looking for my forever home. My human got very sick and had to send me to the shelter when he couldn't take care of me any more. I'm housebroken and leave everything alone in the house but food. I'm good with other dogs and cats. I'm healthy and neutered and up to date on my shots. I'm a little smaller than other Goldens, and have cuter ears, because I'm only part Golden! I like being petted and going for walks, and when my foster mom is busy I like to hang out in my crate, or take a nap near her. I am hoping for a calm, laid-back house of adults with no kids - I'm not used to being in a house all the time and need someone with patience who will teach me how this works. If you have an approved application on file and think you might be the family who can love Cricket, please email Marcie. Please note - no emails will be returned to anyone without an already approved adoption application. Finn is a gentle giant! He was found as a stray in horrible condition but after a good grooming, some good meals and a safe, warm place to live, he's left that sad past behind. He is now 55 pounds of pure love and affection wrapped in a golden doodle body, and estimated to be somewhere between 2-5 yrs old. Finn knows all the basic commands, is house-broken and has not been crated at all at his foster home. He's a good boy! Like so many, he will help keep your counters clean if given the opportunity ;) but this has even improved now that he's not starving. Once he realizes he’s getting a steady food source this shouldn’t be a problem. He loves to play fetch and chew dog toys, but don’t worry he won’t chew your household items! He tries to engage his four-legged foster brother in play, but his fo-bro just isn't interested. We have not seen him around cats. Finn would be a great walking companion as he is great on leash! He has plenty of fun energy but with a little love he’s willing to sit by your side and snuggle! He’s a boy with a big heart looking for his forever home! Finn is being fostered on the west side of Indianapolis. If you have an approved application on file, and are interested in Finn please email Marcie. PLEASE NOTE: Emails to the foster contact listed above will only be answered if you have an APPROVED application on file with GRRACE. Requests for information from non-approved applicants will not be answered. My name is Hutch, and I traveled all the way from Qatar to come to GRRACE! I am around 4 years old and as sweet as can be. I am my foster mom’s shadow wherever she goes, and I really like wrestling and running around with my Golden foster brother. There is something called a ‘cat’ around here that I’m very curious but cautious about! I am very well behaved and usually calm, but I will probably try to sit up and hug you when you come in the door! I also will bring you a present of some kind to greet you – a dog toy, shoe, or anything else I can find. I am learning that walks are fun, but my foster mom says I pull a little bit. I’m just curious about all the new smells! I walk with a limp on my back left leg because one of my hips was broken as a puppy, but I run around just fine and am not in pain. I am currently taking some medicine for anxiety because it was such a big transition to my new life, but I am doing great! My favorite thing to do is lie with my head in someone's lap to get some love. I can’t wait to meet my forever family! Hutch would do best in a home with older children. If you have an approved GRRACE application on file and are interested in meeting him, please contact Marcie. Hi, my name is Nugget. I was Louise when arrived in the USA from China. I didn’t have the best life before being rescued but thankfully I was rescued and I got my freedom flight to the United States on 11/6. I am a little smaller than the average golden, just 45 pounds. My foster family thinks I was meant to get bigger because I have super big floppy ears and large paws but the vet says I am done growing. I didn’t get a lot of human attention before being rescued but I am making up for that now. I can be a little shy at first but I warm up to people really quickly. I play well with other dogs and toys but if a human is available to pet and love me, I much prefer that. The vet thinks I am around 2 years old but I am basically a puppy at heart. My foster family has been working with me on basic commands and manners and my foster mom thinks I am very smart so she doesn’t think it will be very hard for me to be a well trained dog. I have caught on quickly! I am also LOVE food and I will do anything for a treat. I do good around kids but I will sometimes use my mouth to ask for attention (I like to put your hand in my mouth when you aren’t looking but I don’t bite down!). My foster family is trying to break that habit but I might still need some help. This is very typical of Golden puppy behavior so I'll learn it's not really appreciated. Because I crave so much human attention and I still need help with my training, my foster parents say I need a family that has a lot of time to devote to me. I had a few accidents when I first came to my foster family but I think I am potty trained now. I am crate trained and do well in a crate when the humans aren’t home. I walk well on a leash and like to go on walks to the park. I do not have any experience with cats. If you have lots of love and time for me and you have an approved application on file, please email Marcie. I am being fostered on the east side of Indianapolis. PLEASE NOTE: Emails to the foster contact listed above will only be answered if you have an APPROVED application on file with GRRACE. Meet Scout! He came all the way from China, on October 10th, 2018. He is 1-2yrs old. He understands basic commands like sit, come, and stay. He is getting a little better at leave it. Scout is very loving, and loves attention. He is not a fan of the crate, and will bark when put in. He loves to play with his canine foster sister and annoy his older canine foster brother. Scout loves walks but does still pulls a little at first out of excitement. He is a fast eater, so we have been keeping a tennis ball in his food bowl to help slow him down. Speaking of tennis balls, those are his favorite toys and will chase them outside all day if you let him. He also loves chew bones as well, they tend to keep him occupied too. Scout will need a home with older children only and a fenced yard. He would also love to have a home with another dog to give him a playmate. We have not seen him around cats. He gets along well with every dog he has met. If you have an approved application on file, a fenced yard and kids over 10 and would like to meet Scout, please email Marcie. Scout is being fostered on the northeast side of Indianapolis. PLEASE NOTE: Emails to the foster contact listed above will only be answered if you have an APPROVED application on file with GRRACE.
