About Ramsey

LADIES!!!!!!LADIES!!!!!LADIES!!!Meet one of our longest residents with Charlies Crusaders : RAMSEY!  Why do you ask? Because Ramsey does not trust men, so he needs a female owner. Other then that he is the greatest dog! Some backstory to Ramset as to why he is the way he is......Ramesy was seized as part of a cruelty case, he was then taken to the shelter where one of our volunteers met him and couldnt let him be euthinized and decided to foster him till he found a good home.. We have know idea what happened between him and his previous owner, but we can tell you it was a man and it was not pleasant. On the bright side he has been super spoiled for a year with his foster mom and her 3 other dogs of all sizes! His foster mommy took him through Heartworm treatment and he has the all clear now!Ramesy is rambuncious at times so he will need a fenced in yard to run off his energy freely! He is potty trained, crate trained, gets along with all dogs, is neutered and UTD on all vaccines. At 40 lbs Ramsey is on the smaller side and estimated to be around 4 yrs old.Ramsey is currently being fostered in South Haven, MS and will need an experienced owner. All our dogs deserve a loving home but sometimes it takes a little longer to find them...... Meet Bojangles! Bojangles needs our help. Bojangles is around 18 months old, fully vetted, neutered, good with other dogs of same size and age, and if other dogs in house they need to be submissive.  He will do well with proper, slow introduction to new dog(s).  He loves people. Does not like cats.  Bojangles is deaf, but doesn’t let it get in his way of having fun each day! He knows some sign language and is eager to learn more. Bojangles was brought to the shelter because the previous owners said he kept jumping a 4 ft fence because he was bored,  we believe he was just lonely. The only reason he wasn't euthanized is because everyone loved him at the shelter. **If anyone has experience with sign language that would be a plus.**  Apply at   PLEASE NOTE: You must own your home(not a townhome or condo), have a fenced in yard and have breed experience.  PLEASE DO your research and be an educated adopter or foster because he is deaf. He may need and cost more than the "basic" vet care. Bojangles will need special training and socialization,  Recommend for a home with children 13 and older. Current foster says this about him: He is just the greatest dog- easy loving. He definitely doesn’t like cats.  He’s so good on a walk 3 times a day- improving w/ bikes and people passing by.  Sitting in a fenced yard would be so horrible for him - the family should be active and enjoy taking him out and not leaving sit in a fenced yard. He just loves being loved 💕💕  Simple signs for walking, eating, etc will be learned by him. It’s just that the person needs to be understanding of his need for touching because his other sense isn’t there. show less

Meet Campbell! Campbell is a sweet boy around 3 years old with similarities to a Pit and Lab mix. Campbell is around 60 pounds of love and kisses. Campbell was rescued from a high kill shelter in Memphis, TN in late 2019 and then spent 6 weeks in boarding in the south while waiting for a foster in the north. When Campbell finally found a foster family and arrived in Pennsylvania, he was found to have heart worms (treatable, but very preventable) and he received heart worm treatment in early 2020. While getting the care for the heart worm treatment, his foster family fell completely in love and adopted him. Campbell is now heart worm free and will need monthly heart worm preventative (a chewable pill) and yearly heart worm testing. Shortly after being adopted, Campbell’s dad started working from home full time because of COVID-19, and Campbell completely flourished. He enjoyed spending all day with his dad, 2 dog brothers, and 2 cat siblings. Campbell’s mom also enjoyed more time with the family because her work hours had been reduced. Tragically, on June 9th, Campbell’s dad passed away from a heart attack, leaving Campbell, his siblings, and his mom devastated. For the past 3 weeks, Campbell has been staring at the door for hours, waiting for daddy for return. Campbell is getting depressed and soon Campbell’s mom has to return to work full time. Campbell’s mom knows that Campbell needs a family that will be home more than she can she be and reached out to Charlie’s Crusaders. Campbell is a “Velcro dog” and needs people and will actively seek out attention. For that reason, Charlie’s Crusaders requires that Campbell be adopted into a home where he will not be left alone. Campbell will also need a home with a 6 foot fenced in yard and a family with higher energy- he loves to play and run around. He is getting very good at fetch, but needs some training to not jump on people. Campbell loves rope toys and fake “growls” while he plays tug of war. Campbell also LOVES to cuddle, snuggle, and get belly rubs. Due to the tragic circumstances of why Campbell is being listed for adoption, we ask that the new adopters agree keep in touch with Campbell’s current mom, as she is understandably devastated. Campbell is up to date on his shots and neutered. Campbell is house trained, crate trained, and walks well on a leash or harness. Campbell is great with older kids (he still jumps when excited), cats, and dogs. If you are interested in adopting Campbell, please apply at! Please Note Must Own your own home, Have a 6ft fenced in yard and breed experience. show less

Meet Eve!  Eve is among 7 dogs that were dumped in Ashland MS. There's a woman there who takes them in and does her best to keep them alive. The lady contacted Charlie's and asked if we could help find her a good home. Eve was living in outside kennels with only a dog house for shelter. Eve is a beautiful 1 year old Pointer mix. Eve is learning to walk on a leash but does better with a harness. Eve gets along with other dogs and would love a buddy to play with as she has lots of energy! She has been tested with cats and did not chase them, but at her foster home she is very interested in chasing them. She loves her foster's fenced in backyard, as she loves to run and explore. She loves squeaky stuffed toys and bones of all sorts. Her foster has two small children who Eve is wonderful with, but she does try to get them to play with her by nipping at them, so smaller children aren't preferred. She loves getting hugs and giving kisses when playing with her foster family. She loves to look out the big bay window at the birds and ongoings of her neighborhood. She loves being outdoors more than anything, as well as playing fetch and spending time with her people. She is learning her manners as she has had no real interaction with a family or a home in her time living in a caged area outside. She is responding well to correction and needs someone willing to continue teacher her as shes still young.  Eve is up to date on all her shots and spayed. If you have time and patience for this sweet girl please apply today at  Please Note: 5ft or higher Fenced in yard required  show less
