Several rabbits and other species of animals were allowed to run wild without proper food, shelter or medical attention on an unattended piece of property in Richmond. Autumn was one of the rabbits that SBRR managed to rescue from the horrible conditions it was living in. Autumn has the most unique color of fur that we have ever seen. She is almost like a muted calico with orange and blues. We are calling her an orange tortie and guessing at her breed. show less

Bennington was lost. He belonged to someone, but he wasn't microchipped and traveled far from home. No one could find his owners. Bennington was brought to SBRR where we had him neutered which will reduce his need to roam from home. He is a big huggable boy. We have not found 1 mean bone in his body. He will be a wonderful addition to any home. show less

Buckley spent the majority of his life living outside in a backyard with very little human interaction. He is believed to have fathered the kits Baby Cakes, Dino, Bam Bam, Pebbles and Dominic. Thankfully the people with these rabbits decided that enough was enough and reached out to SBRR for help. Buckley is shy and is learning to trust humans. He was handled very little so it may take some time for him to warm up to you. When he does though, he gives great hugs. show less

Buddy is a big beautiful buck that was rescued in Sacramento from a meat farm. Buddy weighed only 8 lbs when brought to SBRR when he should be a 12 -14 lb rabbit. He is a wonderful big bun and will be a great big loveable pet for someone. show less

Bunny Boo was born next to a preschool in the fields of Gilroy. Her mother had thought she found a safe place but sometimes young kids are not the kindest. SBRR rescued her mother Sheba and her 3 other brothers and sisters. Bunny Boo has been in foster to learn litter box skills and manners. She is very curious and fun loving and does not like to be left alone in a back room. She wants to be where you are. show less

Clementine was living as a wild rabbit in the back yard in San Jose. With the weather getting bad and burrows being dug, she was captured and brought to SBRR. It is a very good thing that she was. Shortly after arriving, she gave birth to 6 kits. Being a 1st time mother and young, Clementine didn't know how to care for her kits and 4 were lost. The 2 surviving kits were put with another doe that had recently given birth and were accepted. We then started socializing Clementine to get her ready for her big day. We are watching her closely as she could be pregnant with another set of kits as she could have been pregnant in both uterine horns. She is a very small petite rabbit and is a very gentle and loving rabbit to humans. We are surprised that she wasn't made an indoor rabbit because of her great personality. Their loss and your gain if you choose her to be yours. show less

As an owner surrender, she will need some time with her new family to trust them. Once she does she will be a faithful companion to anyone. show less

Dimples was one of the rabbits that SBRR managed to rescue from the horrible conditions it was living in. Dominic was owner surrendered to SBRR along with his 4 younger siblings. SBRR already had their father, Buckley, who had been surrendered earlier in the year. It soon became apparent to the previous owners that 7 rabbits were just too many if you do not get them spayed and neutered. SBRR has found homes for 3 of his siblings and hope that the 4th find a home soon. Dominic will lay on a table stretched out and allow you to pet him for hours. He is a bit nervous if you approach him from overhead (most rabbits are) but is happy to have the love and attention. He is full grown and and will never reach more than 6 lbs. show less

Dusty was born at SBRR after we rescued her mother from a meat farm. She was being bred for "raw" dog food. All she needs is someone who will love her and Loki forever. Gretchen was living as a wild rabbit in the back yard in San Jose. With the weather getting bad and burrows being dug, she was captured and brought to SBRR. Gretchen had been roaming wild with another doe and a buck. She is a very small petite rabbit and is a little shy. We believe that the reason is because she is a feral domestic rabbit. She had to be caught in a box trap. She had 8 kits on Friday the 23rd of February. She is currently on intake. She will be socialized and made available for adoption once she has her kits weaned. show less

Greyson was rescued from a meat farm. He was a breeding buck as he is a nice big boy and had beautiful big babies. He had a mass removed from his shoulder while at SBRR and lived in a screen room for 4 months with 2 cats. They all lived very well together and Greyson would come running to the door every time it opened to see what type of treat he was getting that day. He has since become a little bit shy, but it will only be a matter of time before he is the big love that he used to be. show less

He was born in a shelter and within 24 hours was at SBRR. When weaned from his mother Sheba, he was sent to a foster home where he got her potty training skills and his socialization. Mariah was one of the rabbits that SBRR managed to rescue from the horrible conditions it was living in. Mariah is the largest girl rescued from this site. It appears that she has had multiple litters so we are happy that she will not have to have anymore! She is very fearful and she has an old injury to her right leg that has healed. She is the oldest rabbit that we rescued and is probably 3 years old. We are hoping that with time she will know that she will always have shelter, warmth, fresh water, all the hay she can eat, medical treatment when needed and love always. show less

Patches came to SBRR with Templeton. He was previously known as Spot but we just didn't think that name suited him. His is a dwarf rabbit with rex hair. He is missing some hair on his back from wrestling with Templeton. We have since separated them in hopes that his hair will grow back. With a clean bill of health, it will be just a matter of time. Patches is used to being held, (so we were told) but we find him to be very skittsh and nervous when handled. We believe that he may not have been handled properly by the previous humans and was also bullied by Templeton. He came to SBRR in a wet lettuce box and had never eaten pellets until he came to SBRR. We are sure we can turn him around and he will be a very happy bunny to someone. show less

Pepper was purchased as an Easter Gift and was presented to the kids in a plastic Easter Egg. She lived is a wire cage suspended from a second story window so they did not have to clean her litter box. They did cover her with plastic so she was protected, but she could never get out of the sun or rain and was never handled. A neighbor who could see this daily knocked on the door and asked if he could have the rabbits. The neighbor went home and for 5 years gave Pepper the best life possible. Change happens and due to the nature of the move that was about to take place, Pepper was not going to be able to follow. We have Pepper who was bonded to Salt. Salt passed at 6 years old, but Pepper is going strong and gaining weight. She loves the freedom to run and kick out her legs and can do quite the binky! show less

Roadrunner was one of the rabbits that SBRR managed to rescue from the horrible conditions it was living in. Roadrunner was given the name because it took 3 volunteers 1 hour to capture her.
