The North Carolina Department of Agriculture licenses animal kennels and shelters. We are required by law to make a copy of the drivers’ license for every individual surrendering a pet.

*We recommend a surrender fee of $100 per animal to pay a very small amount towards vetting, feeding and caring for the pet until it is adopted. Our vetting expenses alone average over $500 per animal assuming no complicating health problems. Each pet is spayed or neutered, microchipped, vaccinated (rabies, parvo, distemper, Bordetella), heart worm tested, and placed on flea and heart worm preventative until adopted.
