Volunteer Agreement and Hold Harmless Acknowledgement

Thank you for volunteering with Touch Of Grey Rescue (“ToG”). Our mission is to provide compassionate care, advocacy, and second chances for senior and special needs dogs. By
signing this agreement, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

Volunteer Expectations
As a volunteer, I agree to:
• Treat all animals in the care of ToG humanely and respectfully
• Follow instructions and safety protocols provided by ToG leadership, coordinators, trainers,
and veterinary professionals
• Maintain professionalism and represent ToG positively in public and online
• Immediately report any concerns regarding animal health, behavior, safety, or incidents
• Respect the confidentiality of rescue information, adopter information, donor information,
and internal operations
• Use good judgment when interacting with animals, volunteers, fosters, adopters, and the
public
• Not transport, medicate, introduce, or handle dogs outside my approved role or training level
without authorization

I acknowledge that I have completed or will complete required volunteer training, including the
following course through Maddie’s University:

I further acknowledge that I may be required to complete additional onboarding, handling,
safety, behavioral, medical, or operational training as determined by Touch Of Grey Rescue
leadership.
I understand that working with rescue dogs — particularly senior, medical, fearful, under-
socialized, or behaviorally complex dogs — carries inherent risks.

I understand and acknowledge that volunteering with dogs and participating in rescue activities
may involve risks, including but not limited to:
• Dog bites or scratches
• Injuries from jumping, pulling, or unpredictable animal behavior
• Exposure to zoonotic illnesses
• Falls, lifting injuries, or transportation-related incidents
• Emotional stress associated with animal rescue work
I voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation in activities involving Touch Of Grey
Rescue.

In consideration of being permitted to volunteer, I hereby release, waive, discharge, and hold
harmless Touch Of Grey Rescue, its directors, officers, volunteers, fosters, agents,
representatives, sponsors, and property owners from any and all claims, liabilities, demands,
damages, losses, costs, or causes of action arising out of or related to my volunteer
participation, including injury, illness, property damage, or death, except in cases of gross
negligence or intentional misconduct.

I further agree to indemnify and hold harmless Touch Of Grey Rescue from any claims or
damages arising from my actions, omissions, or failure to follow established policies and safety
procedures.

I certify that I am volunteering voluntarily and without expectation of compensation or
employment. I acknowledge that Touch Of Grey Rescue may terminate volunteer participation
at any time for safety, policy, or operational reasons.
