RRR Volunteer Application

Volunteering with Ruff Road Revival involves interaction with animals that may be frightened, stressed, injured, untrained, or unpredictable. Risks include, but are not limited to:

• Dog or cat bites or scratches
• Exposure to zoonotic diseases or parasites
• Falls or physical injury
• Property damage
• Allergic reactions
• Injuries during transport, events, or animal handling

Ruff Road Revival cannot guarantee the temperament, health history, or behavior of any animal.

I voluntarily assume ALL risks associated with participation.

Release of Liability

I release, waive, hold harmless, and discharge Ruff Road Revival, its directors, officers, volunteers, foster homes, veterinary partners, transport partners, sponsors, and event hosts from any claims arising from volunteer participation, including injury, illness, death, or property loss, except in cases of proven gross negligence.

Volunteer Conduct

I agree to:

• Follow rescue safety instructions
• Use approved animal handling practices
• Never remove, promise, or transfer an animal without rescue authorization
• Report bites, injuries, or escapes immediately
• Represent the rescue profesionally
• Respect confidentiality of adopters, fosters, donors, and rescue records

Failure to follow rules may results in immediate removal.

Medical Responsibility

Ruff Road Revival does NOTE provide medical coverage for volunteers. I am responsible for my own medical expenses. 

Rescue Authority Policy

I understand that only authorized Ruff Road Revival leadership may approve:

• Adoptions
• Placements
• Events
• Public commitments
• Rescue decisions

Volunteers may not independently schedule events, promise animals, or represent rescue decisions.

Ruff Road Revival is committed to maintaining a positive, professional, and safety-focused rescue environment for our animals, volunteers, fosters, and adopters. 

To help protect everyone involved, volunteers agree to the following expectations:

• Rescue decisions are made by designated leadership
• Volunteers may not independently organize events, approve adoptions, promise animals, or make rescue commitments unless explicitly given permission to do so by one of the leadership team members
• Questions or concerns should be directed to rescue leadership rather than handled independently
• Public communications about rescue animals should remain accurate and approved
• Volunteers must follow all safety guidance when handling animals or participating in rescue activities

Ruff Road Revival values kindness, teamwork, professionalism and clear communication.

Volunteers who repeatedly disregard rescue procedures or safety expectations may be removed from volunteer roles at the discretion of rescue leadership.

If the volunteer applicant is under 18 years of age, a parent or legal guardian must review and approve participation.

By signing below, I confirm that:

• I am the parent or legal guardian of the minor applicant
• I grant permission for the minor to volunteer with Ruff Road Revival
• I understand volunteer activities may involved working with animals and participating in public events
• I acknowledge the risks associated with volunteer participation
• I agree that the minor must follow all rescue safety rules and remain under appropriate supervision

I understand Ruff Road Revival reserves the right to limit or restrict volunteer activities for minors for safety reasons.
