This application is intended for OWNED pets of Wood County Ohio residents only. Due to limitations, WCHS is unable to remove colonies of community cats. Please reach out to us for tips for caring for cat colonies. Those named on the Surrender Application as the legal owner/care giver of the animal must be present at the scheduled appointment time. WCHS takes in surrenders as space allows, an application does not guarantee that you will be able to surrender your pet.  All intakes must pass a behavioral assessment before they can be accepted into our shelter. Surrender fees are due at the time of the appointment. 

Once an application is received, we will contact you to discuss options and if the application is approved and appropriate space is available, we will schedule a time to bring your animal to the Rescue for surrender.
