Profile

Provide a couple of paragraphs about your dog’s likes and dislikes.

1. Please use first person narrative from the dog’s point of view.

2. Please do not include breed (Lab), age, or weight in your bio.

Consider these questions as you work on your Foster Dog’s Bio:

Do they play fetch?
Do they like to swim/play in water?
How do they behave in the car?
How is potty training going? Any improvements?
Where are they kept when you leave the house, and how do they manage with your absence?
What is their behavior on leash? If they need improvement, what are the specific issues/triggers?
How have they most improved while in your care?
Where do they sleep at night?
What causes them to bark?
Do they display food/toy posessiveness?
Do they have any fears you are aware of: storms; toddlers; other dogs; loud noises, etc.?
Are there any behaviors that will need continued work: counter surfing; plays with water bowl; jumps/digs under fence; tries to bolt from an open door; goes crazy out of control for the mailman, etc.?  BE HONEST!
Here's an example for inspiration:

"Hey! I’m Heidi and I’m the girl you’ve been waiting for. I mean, who doesn’t want a petite, chocolate love in their life? So what if I have a few grey “whiskers” on my snout? Trust me…there’s plenty of spunk left in this old body of mine. I’m pretty proud that I can scale a 4-5 foot fence like it’s nothing. So if you don’t want to see me running down the block, you should probably have a 6-foot fence. Not that a fence is required to love me, but then I have to be on a leash and harness to keep me safe. Oh and don’t get me wrong…I LOVE to snuggle and give kisses. And body massages…I love those too! Chill time is my faaavvvooorritte!

So you’re probably wondering why I don’t have a family to call my own. Yep, that’s been disappointing. I was saved by MLRR years ago and they found me a great home, but when my family decided to move away, they decided it was without me. Ugh! So what if I don’t want to share my family with other dogs…a girl can be selfish, right? I honestly don’t know why I have an out of body experience when I see dogs. True, it’s not very becoming of a petite lady, but I just need a family to embrace this charm. Just think, having me as your only fur-child just means that you get all my love…no need to share.

Did I mention how soft I am? I mean, my fur is ridiculous! So here’s the deal…I promise to love you forever, and snuggle a ton, give lots of kisses, play nicely with my toys and not potty in the house if you promise to keep other dogs away from me. I think that’s a fair arrangement, don’t you? The peeps at MLRR said that if you’re super interested in me, they’d do what’s called a foster to adopt. That basically means that you love me for two weeks and if we like each other, you’ll make it official and adopt me. If you think it’s not a good fit, you’ll let me hang with you until I can find another perfect home. I’m not worried though. I just know the second you meet me, you’ll see how perfect I am. So what do you say? I’m ready if you’re ready!"
