Newfoundland Rescue of Florida (NRF)

  • I agree to exercise normal care in maintaining the health of this dog.
  • I agree to contact NRF immediately if the dog becomes ill. Any medical care/treatment must to be authorized by Rescue before the expense is incurred unless the situation can be categorized as life-threatening. Expenses incurred without approval will not be paid for by Rescue and I will be responsible for covering these expenses.
  • I agree to contact NRF immediately if the dog goes missing.
  • I agree to provide updates to Rescue on the dog’s progress.
  • I agree to always keep the foster dog within a fenced yard or supervised on a leash. I agree to never leave the dog outside when no one is home, to never allow the dog to be tied to a doghouse, left out on a chain, or left unsupervised in a yard for extremely long periods.
  • I always agree to transport this dog safely.
  • I understand that my foster dog may have been neglected, mistreated, or abused and that special care or precautions may be required. I also understand that the dog may need medical care, which Rescue will provide. Dogs frequently come in to rescue scared, underweight, and/or ill. I understand that the Rescue representatives have done their best to inform me of any known medical or behavioral issues, but this knowledge is likely incomplete since accurate histories are not always provided to rescue when the dog is surrendered.
  • I agree to carefully introduce the foster dog to my home's existing dogs and cats. Coming to a new home is stressful for the foster dog. They need time and space to adjust to the surroundings, and your existing animals must feel they are not being replaced or crowded. Introducing the foster dog can result in growling, barking, submissive urination, or other undesirable behavior.
  • In the event of an incident involving a bite to a human or other animals, I agree to immediately contact NRF to inform them of the incident and will follow the requirements for quarantine and safe handling.
  • I understand that Rescue cannot and does not guarantee the health and temperament of the foster. I will exercise caution with any new foster dog in my home.
  • I agree not to transfer custody of the dog to anyone other than NRF and agree to return the dog to Rescue upon demand. I understand that Rescue will find this dog a home and that I am not to adopt or give away this dog to anyone not approved by Rescue.
  • Should I decide to adopt my foster dog, I agree to all terms and conditions of the adoption contract. I understand that payment of the adoption fee for my dog must be paid within 7 days of adoption; otherwise, the adoption will be considered incomplete. If I cannot pay the adoption fee, I understand I am required to return the dog to the rescue immediately.
  • It is further agreed that if I fail to perform any of those acts the Rescue may, at its option, revoke this agreement and retake possession of the dog without delay.
  • I agree to hold harmless and release Rescue and/or its members, volunteers, and other individuals working for and/or assisting with rescue from all liability, claims, and/or causes of action arising from any acts, injury and/or occurrences engaged in and/or caused by the dog subject to this agreement, as well as indemnification for damages, court costs, and/or attorney's fees incurred by the Rescue and/or its members for any court proceedings relating to such matters.
