Hi folks! My name is Mila and I'd like to formally introduce myself. See, I'm a little nervous around new people, so a proper introduction is very important to me! My first family got me as a puppy. They saw me as a commodity more than a family member. I was bred and my puppies sold before I was ready to see them go. My family never walked me, took me to the park, or on any adventures. For the first 3 years of my life I stayed at home and in the back yard. When it was time for my family to move, they took me to the shelter and waved goodbye. You have to understand, this was the only family I'd ever known. Literally the only people I'd ever met. And they just left! Like it was no big deal! Well, it was a big deal to me. Ho-Bo Care took me in and has been working with me to introduce me to the big, wide world and all the adventures it holds for me! I am still very wary of new people - but could you blame me? Who can I trust? The good news is that once you and I are buddies, I want to be around you all the time! I'll lean right into you to get my pets and I'm very gentle, playful, and loving! Having another dog around helps me feel confident that new people aren't so scary too. If they're not scared, why should I be? Right? Now that the volunteers at Ho-Bo Care have started to socialize me and work on my confidence, I'm ready to find my foster or forever home! I'm looking for a family that is willing to accept that I still have some insecurities and will work with me to overcome them. Patience and a little know-how go a long way with me! Underneath my fears and insecurities I am a happy and wiggly boxer girl. I love to love and can't wait to find a human pal that can see the potential in me. I love to play ball and do zoomies in the backyard. I love sleeping in bed and waking up next to someone that loves me as much as I love them. PLEASE READ BELOW PRIOR TO EMAILING IN! Hey there, my name is Opal and I am two years old. Since I was found out wandering around on my own one day, the nice people that saved me do not know much about my past. However - it was very clear to them that I recently had a litter of puppies, and it is likely that I even had multiple litters throughout my short lifetime. There were people in my past that were not very nice to me, so I am somewhat fearful and can get pretty nervous around new people. With that being said – I am extremely sweet and very loyal to those I do know, so I think I just need a quiet family I know I can trust and that will slowly help me gain my confidence around other people. I am a very smart girl, so I do know my basic commands and will be really eager to learn more from my new family! I’ve also heard people describe me by using words like ‘beautiful’ and ‘gorgeous’. I can neither confirm nor deny this, so you’ll just have to take another look and see if you would agree! I certainly don’t mean to brag, but I really do have so much to offer if given the chance! I am sweet, loyal, smart and apparently gorgeous.. I mean, really, what else could you possibly want in a girl?! Being saved by Ho-Bo Care has given me the opportunity to start a new life with a loving family, and I have been patiently waiting for quite a while now to find my perfect family. How do I imagine my perfect family? Well, I am glad you asked.. they are nice, easy going and very loving. They will want to spend lots of time together, and will be patient with me as I learn to feel comfortable around people again. Since I can get nervous easily, I would probably do best in a home without kids. Lastly - I cannot wait to catch up on the snuggles and love from my people that I’ve missed out on throughout the first couple years of my life, so I am not sure I’ll be ready to share that yet and would prefer to be an only pet for now. Do you think you might be the family I’ve always dreamed of having?! If so, I would love to meet you! Please fill out an adoption application at www.hobocare.org/adopt and I hope to see you soon!! Hello Friends. My name is Sasha and I’ve got a story to tell. I'm about 4 years old and I’ve been in the care of Ho-Bo Care for several weeks now. They don’t know much about my past, but they do know that I came from a not-so-nice home. In January of this year is where my story begins. It was a freezing cold night. I had been neglected for some time already. I was skinny and had large areas of missing fur due to the malnutrition I suffered. I was driving around with my ‘family’, when we pulled over to the side of a busy street. My owner took me out of the car, tied my leash to a street sign, got back in the car and drove away. He didn’t even turn back to look at me. It was snowing and temperatures were so cold they made my paws nearly freeze to the ground. There were people standing around staring at me. I think they were feeling sad for me, but many of them continued to walk on by. I was scared and embarrassed. I must’ve looked so pitiful, crouched in the snow by myself. I buried my head beneath my paws and prayed for someone to save me. Finally a group of kind strangers gathered around me. One of those kind strangers untied me from the pole and took me home. She hoped I had a good family out there missing me, but no one ever came to claim me. So she decided to nurse me back to health. In her care, I gained weight and my coat became full and shiny. I was healthy again! After several months it was time for me to begin my hunt for a forever family – a family that will love me and appreciate me! That’s how I came to be with Ho-Bo Care. Now that I’m here I’m letting my guard down and learning that I deserve better than the start I was given. I’m good with other dogs and very affectionate with my people. I enjoy playing with toys – especially a good game of tug-o-war! I’m crate and potty trained and have excellent house manners. I know all of my obedience commands including sit, down, shake, and come. I’d love to find a family that will allow me to sleep in bed with them so I can feel safe and warm. I’m still a little wary of strangers, so a home without too much commotion would be ideal for me. Because of this, a home without children is probably best. I’d do well in a home with or without dogs. I love cuddling most of all, so as long as I have someone to cuddle with (human or canine!) I’ll be a happy girl. If you think you can offer me the home I deserve, please apply at www.hobocare.org. Thank you for listening to my story! Please feel free to share with your friends and family! I am a 1 year old white deaf female boxer mix. I am a very happy girl and I LOVE every person I meet! If I see someone I want to say hello to, I'll army crawl or bounce my way over to greet them. Before coming to Ho-Bo Care I spent my life chained up in someone's backyard, so I'm still working on my social skills around other animals. I've lived with another dog in the past, but haven't learned to greet new dogs appropriately yet. It's a learning process! My foster mom is teaching me sign language and she says I'm a super smart girl! I'm potty trained and know how to ask when I need to go outside. I prefer not to be crated, but am not destructive when left with free roam of the house. I'm still just a puppy and sometimes that puppy energy just comes bursting out of me - I live to play! My most favorite thing of all is to snuggle with and give gentle kisses to my humans though. I'm ready for my forever home! PLEASE READ BELOW PRIOR TO EMAILING IN! Hi, I’m Tina! I am around 8 years old and sweet and easy going. I am a Boxer/American bull dog mix and weigh in at a whopping 90lbs - hey, just more of me to love! I am great with other dogs and share my foster home with a poodle, bulldog, and boxer. I get regular visits from my foster parents young grandkids and am always gentle and loving towards them. While I love to play with toys and can occasionally be found happily bounding around the house, I wouldn't be described as a high energy dog. In fact, on walks, I almost always bring up the rear. I'm not in a hurry to get anywhere! I'm potty trained and can be trusted with free roam of the house when you're away. My foster mom tells me that I'm a watch dog, but watch is all I'll do. When the doorbell rings I'll "ruff ruff" but as soon as the door opens I'm all wiggles and kisses. I just need to let everyone know what's going on. I'm ready for my forever home and hope you'll decide to meet me. 90 lbs may sound like a lot, but when it's snuggle time I'll gingerly climb into your lap for my lovin' and you'll feel right at home. They call me Zoey. AKA Squirrel Hunter. If you adopt me, not only will you have a squirrel-free yard, but you'll have the best adventure partner there ever was. See, I walk excellent on leash and don't pay any mind to the other pooches that pass me by. I'm right by your side and eager to explore with you! When you get tired on our walk and need to take a break on the nearest bench, there's no need to scoot over to make room for me. I much prefer to fold myself into your lap! Need to take some time off from adventure seeking? That's okay too! At 2 years old, I know all my house manners and am happy to spend the day lounging in the backyard or next to you on the couch. Already got a full house? No worries! I'm a tiny girl and I get along great with other dogs. All you have to do to meet me is fill out an application at www.hobocare.org.
