This is Andy.  He was born in mid November of 2020, and as a true pandemic pup, prefers a quieter household and lifestyle. Can you blame him??  It's all he knows :) Andy has made some huge strides in his foster home.  He is good with the other foster dogs and he absolutely adores his human foster mama. Recently, a foster pupy joined the homestead and Andy has been very playful with her.  Sometimes meeting new dogs (especially when on leash) can be a bit abrupt and intense, but if introduced slowly and properly, he can do pretty well with doggie friends.  He was started on some behavior medication that seems to be having a positive effect.  Andy currently resides out in the mountains and thinks a forever home with some room to roam would be ideal. No apartments or close living quarters for this country dog, please.  Also, no kiddos. Calm teenagers that also enjoy solitude and are not social butterflies could be considered.  Andy's foster mom has been taking him on some outings to "downtown" Marshall.  It is pretty quiet there and he is doing well ignoring some of the distractions of town. As you can tell in his picture, he has good dental hygiene and flosses with grass :)    Andy is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, dewormed, and on monthly flea/heartworm prevention.  His adoption fee is $200 and you can apply to adopt at mpravl.org.   show less

Loki is named after the God of Mischief! Need I say more? He is fun, happy, and absolutely loves finding toys, socks, blankets or whatever else and hiding them around the house. He absolutely loves his owner and prefers women over men.  Loki's previous name was Ninja because he would crawl around on the floor and pop out of places just like a Ninja! He really is quite the character! He wakes up his current owner with kisses and complete love!  Loki was found as a stray wondering the streets and was taken in by a good Samaritan. Since then, he has passed through 3 different homes.  His current owner must return him to us, because he bit a neighbor.  His bite history is always related to him resource guarding his owner. He ALWAYS has displayed love and complete dedication to his owner. Therefore, we believe Loki could live a very happy and peaceful life with a single person (preferably female).  His bites occurred when a person was in close proximity to his owner. He displays no other aggression. He has a gotten along with other Chihuahuas in our rescue and walks well on a leash. Attention: This is a courtesy posting only! This pet is NOT available through Mountain Pet Rescue.  Please do NOT contact MPR for information about the pet or apply to adopt this pet on the MPR website.  Contact Fia at sophiakerdoon@gmail.com or by phone at 310-594-2263 for more information or to adopt the pet. Pawpaw has come a long way in the 4 months that I have had him! He does well in cars, with ALL people, and does well being left alone. He is a fairly quiet pup and rarely cries or barks (only barks when dogs walk by while he’s in the yard.)  He is potty trained and has not been destructive. Pawpaw would do great with someone who is active.  Even though he is 11 years old,  he LOVES walks and hiking. He is a senior, but he definitely has the energy of a healthy, younger adult!  Pawpaw previously lived with someone who kept him tied to a tree for 11 years. He did not interact with other animals, so for that reason he needs to be the only animal in the home. He is very, VERY affectionate... and has been waiting so patiently to finally find his forever person. He would be great for a first time dog owner or anyone really who wants an affectionate and active (but not too active) pup!  Please contact Fia today at sophiakerdoon@gmail.com or by phone at 310-594-2263 to learn more about sweet Pawpaw! show less

Sascha

Female Young Mixed Breed

Attention: This is a courtesy posting only! This pet is NOT available through Mountain Pet Rescue.  Please do NOT contact MPR for information about the pet or apply to adopt this pet on the MPR website.  Contact the owner at taylorbrenneman@gmail.com for more information or to adopt the pet. I got Sascha in Santa Fe NM when she was 5 months old. She is now 1 year and 8 months old. Ideally I would love to find Sascha a home with another dog or cat so she has a buddy. We have always lived with people with dogs, but now it’s just us and I am gone a lot more, so I can see her loneliness. She is still very playful and needs a yard or space to run around safely daily. I would love to find a family to be her forever home. She needs a leader, someone who is experienced and confident in guiding/training a growing puppy. She learns quickly and is as sweet as can be. She is excitable at times, mostly with other dogs walking down the street, bikes or runners. I do believe with the right leadership she will improve with this. I would describe Sascha as cuddly, loving, expressive, playful, goofy, curious, absolutely amazing. I am so grateful she has been in my life, and if I was more stable/in a different position I would certainly keep, her but I want the absolute best for her.
