Hi there! My name is Atticus and I have been a Cody's alum since I was only 6 weeks old. I have come back into the Cody's family because my previous adopters did not understand my need for structure, boundaries, and training. I am back with my previous foster mom and dad and they tell me they love me every single day! They are doing their very best to find me my final forever home and we are wondering if that's you! A little bit about me! I am around 60lbs and may be a Shepherd/Carolina Dog mix. We haven't had my DNA tested, though, so let's just call me pure love. I am a bit of an introvert, so some people might think I'm aloof - but really I'm a huge softy who loves head scratches, belly rubs, and gentle kisses. I sometimes snuggle, but I actually like to have a little bit of personal space, so would love to find a fellow introvert to share my life with! I was returned due to reactivity around my previous male adopter, but I went to 3 weeks of training and had NO problems with the many male trainers who put me through my paces. I went to a board & train that specialized in reactive dog training and I learned how to Heel, Sit, Down, Place, and Stay. I can actually lay in place for hours at a time, believe it or not. (Dont tell the other dogs, but I'm pretty sure that I'm the best trained dog in Cody's AND I have a certificate to prove it). I would do best in a home with no children/teenagers and no cats. I'm really not a fan of those little furballs. I am dog friendly but prefer small or female dogs. I can be a bit territorial with other male dogs my size sometimes. I am super active, so would be a wonderful companion to anyone looking for a running, hiking, activity partner! I am fiercely loyal and will make you feel safe when I'm around! I do need a calm environment where boundaries are set healthily. I don't like to disappoint, and sometimes if someone is being very loud or making aggressive gestures, I will think they are going to hurt me and I react.  I truly am a wonderful dog with soulful eyes and I deserve more than anything to find the very best home for me. I deserve a forever home and my foster family is committed to finding me that home. Is it you? Could you be the one?  If you have questions about me, please Apply at codysfriendsrescue.com show less

📍Donate at codysfriendsrescue.org ❤️to help us save more lives! https://codysfriendsrescue.org/donate Burke is a 2 year old husky who weighs 55lbs. She gets along with other dogs but can sometimes play too rough with smaller dogs. No cats please. She is very friendly with all people shes met, we haven't seen her around children but we think she would do just fine with kids.  A home with a yard is required, as she likes to run around and sunbathe. No apartments please. Burke loves to play and always has a toy closeby. She is your typical mischevious husky and will get into things she shouldn't. If you don't want her to have it you will have to put it out of her reach. Burke does need to be crated when no one is home so she will not get into stuff she shouldn't. She does well in her crate and will happily go in for a treat.  Burke may have an accident or two when she first arrives to her new home. Her adopters will have to show her where to potty at her new house.  She is a very smart girl who loves going for walks. However, she does have mild hip dysplasia so walks should be kept short. Due to her hip dysplasia Burke does need to take two supplements that we are requiring the adopter keep her on. Huskies are a wonderful breed but are NOT for inexperienced dog owners as they can be difficult, stubborn, and have a mind of their own. Burke is definitely your typical husky. She will not jump a fence but could dig out so she must not be outside unattended.  Burke loves snuggling, giving kisses, and showing your her belly. Surprisingly for a husky she is affectionate. She talks on occasion but not too much. She loves to run and play chase with her doggie friends.     Applications are at https://bit.ly/codys_adoption_application.   show less

📍Donate at codysfriendsrescue.org ❤️to help us save more lives! https://codysfriendsrescue.org/donate This friendly and sweet-natured fellow is Chip, a Lab mix who was brought to a local animal shelter in September of 2020 with injuries that resulted in his front left leg being amputated. Dispite this major change, Chip is still very happy and loves all people. He is approximately 4 years old, weighs 45 pounds.  Chip would do great with a family that is home most of the time, or willing to take him with them. He loves his people and just wants to be near them. Because of his attack, Chip is afraid of bigger dogs, but he gets along great with his smaller foster sibling. Given a proper introduction he could get along well with bigger pups. He walks well on a leash, is house broken, and likes to  play in the yard. He takes treats gently and knows the sit command. He loves to snuggle with his humans and make a nest out of blankets. .  More information about Chip's inguries: Chip was seen by a vet who diagnosed him to have sustained attack wounds with large degree of infection on all four legs, the most substantial on the left elbow.   His one leg never healed from all the infection so we had to amputate his leg.    He is  a sweet and happy boy.  He was heart worm positive which has been treated.  Chip was a dog who had not been well cared for -he came in covered in fleas as well which we treated.  It is so sad that Chip was not cared for by his owners and so sad that Chip had to pay for it with his health. He is now fully recovered and ready for adoption! show less

Cocoa Butts is a terrific lady who is more than ready to love you. Not only is she a super sweet dog, but she is also brilliant, learns commands very quickly, and is food and toy-motivated. She loves stuffed toys, especially if they have a squeaker inside. She loves to take the toy apart and rip the squeaker out; picture Kano in Mortal Kombat but a cuter, more feminine version. She enjoys spending her days napping, working on puzzle toys with treats or kibble inside, and laying by my feet as I work. She also enjoys belly rubs and turns into a complete derp when getting them. She is 3 years old, crate trained, and house trained, and will not let you forget that she needs to go outside. She is a big girl, clocking in around 70 lbs, so she would do best in a house with older children, as she can get excited sometimes and does not know her own strength. It is not all rainbows and butterflies with this pretty girl. She needs slow introductions to new things and experiences, along with some decompression time for a couple of days when she goes to her new home. She has no problems meeting new people, but dogs will need to be very slow in a controlled environment. She will also need her family to continue working with her obedience training. She does a great heel and is learning how to control her anxiety when we are outside. She is very loving and sweet, loyal as heck, and I cannot wait for her to find a family of her own. She has a lot of love to give, are you ready for a new best friend? Applications are at https://bit.ly/codys_adoption_application.   show less
