Malika is just about a year old.  She is a dilute calico with a silky soft coat.  She is active and intelligent so she will need a family who will play with her.  She prefers to be the only cat in the home but might do well with a younger kitten. Malika is vaccinated, tested negative for FIV/FELV, and has a registered microchip. All of our cats for adoption are sterilized, fully vaccinated, treated for fleas/worms, are negative for FIV/FELV, and have a registered microchip, and come with their travel crate.  Adoptions are on a cost-recovery basis and are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law. https://www.petstablished.com/adoption_form/11596/generic Native Mau Cats of Egypt are the oldest known descendants of Egyptian domesticated cats (which have provided a partial foundation for the recent Egyptian Mau cat breed), and they are one of only a few naturally occurring, small, spotted cats in the world. Adoptions are on a cost-recovery basis and by an approved application.   NVEcats aims to increase education in Egypt and around the world about these magnificent and intelligent cats. Cats and kittens are not adopted out on a “first-come, first-serve” basis. We choose to match our applicant and cats based on what we deem as best suited for that particular cat or kitten. show less

Ramadan was found on the first day of the holy holiday which is how he got his name.  He was injured by either a car accident or a human deliberately hitting him to get him away from them. He was taken in by the woman who feeds the feral colony where he was living to heal and was going to return him to the street again.  We think he will be a nice companion for a family or individual who wants to offer him a safe and loving environment rather than a slow and painful death on the streets of Egypt.  As you can see in the videos he is playful, friendly once he gets to know you, and can walk fine but with a slight limp. Smokey is approximately four years old.  He is kind and gentle even though he had a hard time on the streets of Egypt.  Smokey lost an eye while he was surviving on his own but it doesn't diminish his beauty.  He fostered Nala when she arrived at the same foster home and we hope they find a home together but it's not necessary.  Smokey will groom her and even showed her how to use the litterbox when she was ready!
