Hi!  My name is Ducky and I am possibly a collie/border collie mix girl looking for a special home that will be understanding about my breed mix (herding) as well as that I'm pretty shy when I first meet new people.  I'm about 2-1/2yo and only weigh around 35lbs so I'm not a real big girl.  Unfortunately, my current owner is not able to keep me and is hoping that BCAA can help me find a new home.  I was adopted as a puppy and raised around children so I'm good with them; I've also lived with a couple of larger dogs that I have gotten along with but do need proper introduction to new big dogs.  Unfortunately, I have a fairly high prey drive so I will have to have a home that does not have any small animals.  I'm also somewhat of an escape artist so I will need a secure fenced yard that I cannot dig under, jump over or push through as I will test a fence.  I am good in a home as I'm housebroken; I'm not destructive and I'm a pretty chill girl when inside; and I'm also good on leash.  My previous owner said to tell you that Once I know that I can trust you, I'm a really sweet girl and love to give hugs.  I'm completely vetted and ready to find me a new home.  If you might want to meet me, please fill out an application which can be found at http://www.bcaaofnj.org.   show less

Kahn is a 6 1/2 year old neutered male American Bulldog mix who weighs about 80 Lbs.  He was with a family who he lived with all his life.  They surrendered him to the shelter because where they were moving they couldn't take him. He was so stressed out and depressed, so he developed a skin infection.    We got him out of the shelter and he is now in a foster home and his skin is looking so much better, and that is because he is a happy lovebuy of a boy again.   He is totally housebroken, is not destructive when you leave him alone , just don't leave open food on the counter as he will help himself to it.   Kahn's personality is so sweet and he just adores to be sitting by your feet or next to you, and get lots of head rubs, belly rubs too.  Kahn loves other dogs but would do best with dogs around his size. He would love a fenced in yard to go out and sit in the sun, that is his favorite thing to do in his foster home.  He lays in the sun room on his dog bead and just loves life.  Kahn is strong on a leash but walks nicely on it most of the time as long as he has no distractions so he would need someone who can handle a large dog & continue to work on his leash training.  He does want to jump up when he 1st meets someone but we are working on changing that so that training may have to continue.  He is not food aggressive & he will let you take anything he has in his mouth from him.  He learns quickly but because of his size Kahn really needs to be in a home with someone who perhaps has experience with a large breed dog & can be firm, consistent, & loving.  He responds well to structure & affection.   Definitely no small children living with him as he can easily knock them down in his excitement to see them.  Someone who is active, perhaps even someone who runs would be great for Kahn as even at 6 1/2 he has plenty of energy & it needs to be directed in the correct way.  I don't think his former life was very structured & he needs that plus he responds to that.  He is totally happy laying around with you & you just need to relax. All in all he's a big sweet goofball who would love to find a forever home with someone or a family who can offer him a life he deserves & has the patience & love he needs. Kahn also loves car rides & behaves very nicely when he's out for a drive.  He just sits in the back of the car and looks out the window and takes it all in.  He would love to be someones buddy going for rides.   If you want to meet him, fill out an application on our website bcaaofnj.og show less

Peanut is just adorable and so fun.  He makes his foster family laugh all of the time.   He is so cute and when he runs with his toys around the yard or the house you can see the proud look on his face, and its like he is smiling.    Peanut is about a year old and 20. pounds. He loves to be outside and run around. For that reason, he has to have a fenced in yard.   He is house and crate trained. He loves his person and would best in a home with no kids because of his love for his toys.  He does not get mad when people take them from him or the other dogs, but we do not want to risk a small kid trying to do it.  . He is fine with other dogs and would do great in a home where there is another dog who loves to play like he does.  He plays non stop in the yard wirh his foster sister.   He does bark when people come in the house, but that is it.  Peanut was interested in the cats when he first came in the house, but now he likes to play with them and is used to them.   If he went to a home with cats, the cat would need to be dog savy and understand he is playing.   The best thing about Peanut is his snuggling into you.   He loves to lay on the couch with you, and at bed time he is under the covers.   He is so smart, and if he does something you do not want him to do, he learns the first time you tell him no.  If you want to meet him, fill out an application on our website bcaaofnj.org show less
