Booker is one year old and 38 lbs.  He is the perfect size for just about any home   Booker loves all the dogs in his foster home and interacts with them very well. He loves to do zoomies with his foster brother.                 Booker is great with the 7 year old boy in his foster home. He doesn’t jump up on him, and loves snuggling and sleeping with him.   Booker would fall on the lower end of medium energy. He will happily play but is just as content lounging around (as long as he can see you or one of his four legged friends)    He still needs some work on the leash but is a very smart boy and with a little more practice should be a really good walking companion. Booker has only been in the car with his foster family for short trips to and from the vet. He was in a carrier and did fine.                                          Booker has made great progress with crate training while in his foster home. He doesn’t have accidents in his crate. Booker would yelp and bark for half a hour or more when he first arrived at his foster home. He will now go in the crate when told to, but is still very vocal about being in the crate for several minutes. He settles down but he does not like being crated.  Booker is so eager to please and has already learned sit, lay down, and come in just a few days. He is very smart little guy and is so proud when he gets a “good boy Bo0oker”.   He loves to play fetch and will bring anything you toss back to you. Still learning to "drop it" when he returns it  Booker would be great in a home with another dog. He loves his foster brothers and appears to take comfort from their presence. Booker was picked up as a stray and it was obvious from his physical condition that he wasn’t loved and cared for. The ideal home would be with a family where one member was home at least some during the day (works from home etc)  show less

Chelsea is a silly, loving, happy girl. and a real cuddle bug!!! She is approx five years old and 40 lbs.   She is the best cuddler, movie watching pup you could ask for.   She is a good mix of energy.  She has bursts of playfulness and excitement if she hadn’t seen you for a while but soon after she just wants to give you a big hug and be held.   Because she jumps in excitement, she may best with no small children.   Chelseas past isn’t known exactly but what is definite is that she was hurt badly by another dog or dogs in her life.   Because of this she is sometimes uneasy with new dogs.  She is worried about being hurt again.  She is housebroken and goes outside to potty but doesn’t like staying outside long or going outside by herself.   The outside seems to be a place of unknown for her.  She is so happy and safe inside hanging out with you.   She is amazing in a crate.   She hardly ever barks except if she hears or sees something strange when outside.   She is very smart and understands quickly what you want from her.    Although Chelsea is currently in a home with other dogs and doing well after learning to trust them, she will do best as the only pet or in a home with a fairly calm dog and patience for her to feel safe and able to trust the other dog.   She does like to chase birds and squirrels if they cross her path so would not recommend cats.   Chelsea is a great companion.   Loves chilling in her bed, laying with you on the couch watching movies and riding in the car.    She will be incredibly loyal to her person and never want to leave your side.   show less

Meet our special little girl Foxy. Foxy is approximately 7 years old and a chihuahua mix. She has bounced around a lot in her life which has taken a bit of a toll on her. She has a bit of an attitude and is currently under the care of a behavioral vet and we have found a nice cocktail of inexpensive medications that help to keep her relatively balanced. She needs a special person or couple who understands her quirks and who will give her all of the time she needs to be able to trust a new mom/dad. A household without children is a must for Foxy. Foxy is a resource guarder so she really should be the only dog in the house to avoid potential issues. She likes being outside, laying in the warm sun and going for little walks. Walking is very important for Foxy as she had two knee surgeries this year and did not use that leg for about 6 months, so her muscles have atrophied. We are currently working with an animal physical therapist who has gotten her using her leg again and we are building up her muscles again by doing underwater treadmill therapy. Despite Foxy’s issues, she really can be quite a sweet and funny dog. She just needs someone who understands her special needs and who will give her the space and time she needs when she needs it.Foxy is spayed, microchipped and up to date on her vaccinations. Any questions about Foxy can be directed to her foster mom at kimr7296@aol.com.     show less
