Princess Penelope is a 1 year old Boston Terrier that weighs about 14lbs. She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on all of her vaccinations, and on heart worm prevention. Princess Penelope is a sweet girl that is very friendly with everyone she meets! She was born with a condition called spina bifida, which causes her fecal and urinary incontinence, as well as occasional mild weakness in her hind legs which is almost unnoticeable. Although this will be a lifelong diagnosis for her, her condition is very manageable and her quality of life is still great. She wears a diaper in her foster home and doesnt seem to mind. Keeping her on a strict diet of her dog food helps manage the incontinence issues. Daily expression of her bladder and monitoring for signs of UTI are also an important part of her care. You would never know Princess Penelope is a special needs dog from the way she runs and plays! She loves to be around children, and does well with cats and other dogs. She walks well on leash and will come to her foster mom when called. She is an affectionate girl that likes to cuddle up after playing. If you would like to give Princess Penelope her forever home, please submit an application at southerncrossbtr.com. Her adoption fee is $375. She is being fostered in Lafayette, IN area. Skittles is a 12 year old Boston Terrier that weighs about 18lbs. She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, and on heart worm prevention. Skittles is just a “jewel”. She wants to be respected as the wise old lady in the house.  She is currently living in a home with two Dobermans and a Boston terrier, and she does great. She adjusts quickly into the pack. Skittles is paralyzed in her hind legs, and is fecal and urinary incontinent. But that doesn't slow her down or stop her from giving love! She does great with diapers and doesn't mind wearing them at all. Her foster mom also manually expresses her bladder 2-3 times per day in order to help prevent UTI and help keep her bladder empty. She gets her diaper changed about 3 times a day as well, and her foster uses onesies to keep her diaper on well. The outfits also help to keep her protected as she scoots.  Skittles starts her day by waking up, getting a fresh diaper change, and then shes ready for her breakfast. She either sits on her puppy pad or goes outside, if weather permits, to eat her breakfast. After breakfast, she will usually poop on her puppy pad or outside, as her foster home has her in a routine to do.  After breakfast, Skittles loves to cuddle with you in a chair or wrapped up in a blanket, or maybe even enjoy more sunbathing outside. She loves having her head and ears rubbed! She gets around really well in the house by scooting, and you’d be surprised how fast she moves when she gets a sniff of human food :) After a long hard day of snuggling and love, Skittles will put herself to bed and loves to be covered up. Skittles is such a loving, easy-going dog, and the special care she requires is nothing compared to the love she has left to give.    If you would like to give Skittles her forever home, please submit an application at southerncrossbtr.com. The adoption fee is $150. She is being fostered in Arkansas.
