Meet Bruno! Bruno is a very special boy who is approximately 5 years old. Bruno was relinquished twice to two different shelters because the owners did not know how to best deal with him. Why would they relinquish? Because he is a barker. He barks at all noises, people, movements… you name it. That does not seem to be changing with training and a calm environment. Bruno in the past had an electronic shock collar on him and it appears to have caused permanent trauma. Since being placed in foster care, he has blossomed into a loving, goofy companion. But… the barking continues. So, to find his perfect home has been a challenge. He needs a home with a secure fenced yard. No strangers and no walks. He launches out any door, so he needs to be leashed if people come. He is a special boy. He would be a great companion for a single woman who does not live in an apartment. Until we find his perfect forever home the Alternative Humane Society is committed to his long-term foster care. We cover all his veterinary expenses, food, and supplies. His foster is committed to on-going training and will continue to provide a safe and loving home. We are raising money to help support Bruno in his long-term foster care needs. Thank you so much for your support. If you believe Bruno would be a good fit for your home please fill out a Statement of Interest on the Alternative Humane Society webpage. https://alternative-humane-society.com/ He's happy and loves to play outside. He is a Barker! No apartments or condos sorry.

This is a courtesy listing. All applications will go directly to her owner. "Lucy is a super sweet and cuddly dog who is also very energetic and playful. She is about 3 years old and 45 pounds. She loves to snuggle just as much as play tug-o-war. As she is a herding breed she will need a home with a large backyard or other planned means to provide her the exercise she needs (such as frequent runs/hikes or doggy daycare). She was a rescue who was previously severely underweight due to being tied to a pole and left so she will need a positive reinforcement only home. She has basic training (potty trained, sit, hold, lay down, etc.) as well as some more advanced training (back, go to bed, spin, twirl, etc.) and has done some agility training. She is extremely intelligent and training has always gone by quickly. She is also crate trained. She has not lived with small animals but may be able to get used to them with monitoring over time as she has done for a few cats at other hones she has visited. It is unknown how she interacts with children. Lucy has gotten very protective of me where she can be very aggressive to other people. We have been working on this and seen large improvements in the past few months. However, when I am gone she loves everyone which means this may be a good way to re-socialize her if someone else has the patience at the beginning before she gets too attached. I am hoping to find her furever home that would also be willing to let me visit her and give me first priority if she ever needed to be re-homed."
