Ace is an experienced and loving cat. She is around 12 years old and lived most of her life in the comfort of a home. At the beginning of this year, she found herself in a shelter in Hazard, KY.  Ace had a hard time adjusting to the cramped quarters and all of her fellow feline and canine neighbors. Ace had some cage anxiety and didn’t get along with anyone else at the shelter, some of this anxiety likely stemmed from the fact that she is a front paw declawed cat. Ace has been living with her current foster parents since the beginning of July and has thrived in her new environment. She purrs, talks, naps, and plays with the best of them.  Ace loves head scratches and anything down the length of her spine.  As you move down her flanks she will give you plenty of warning signs that you’re getting close to the danger zone.  She does not like having her belly or chest rubbed at this time, she is very vocal about this, followed up by swatting and trying to get away, as her last defense she can / will bite (she’s a cat).  With that being said she is probably not suited for a life in a home with small children who may not understand her boundaries.  Ace has not been exposed to children or dogs at her current foster home. The report from the shelter was clear that she did not enjoy being in the presence of dogs and the noise that accompanies them. Ace is currently cohabitating with three adult cats and a young kitten, all-male.  Ace has no problem being around other cats.  She has spent plenty of time teaching our foster kitten how to cat. That includes locating sunbeams, finding the best box in the house to cocoon in, and of course how to play.  The other three adult cats ignore her for the most part and she is happy to do the same for them.  There have been no altercations between her and the other cats in the house, but she would not mind being the only cat in the home. Ace loves to growl.  We’ve learned she doesn’t mean anything by it most of the time.  She will be laying on your lap getting chin scratches as happy as can be and she’ll still let out the occasional growl with her purrs. Ace is an older cat that still plays like she’s in her early adulthood.  If you’re looking for an only cat, an addition to a laid-back pack of cats, or an experienced cat to teach your kitten(s) how to cat, Ace is your lady. Andrew Dice Cat, or Dice as he is affectionately known, is a very special cat. This handsome fella used to be a stray on the mean streets of Chicago and is learning how to trust and feel safe. He is a truly sweet and loving cat who sometimes gets a bit aggressive when he is overstimulated. Dice has come SUCH a long way in foster care, and his foster Mom is sure that with the right family, this fella will absolutely be friendly and thrive! When Dice is feeling confident and safe, he loves to play and interact with his people! Treats are his FAVORITE thing! He requests affection with head bumps, and even gave his very first purr this week!! Hooray!! Dice’s ideal home is with experienced adult cat owners who are happy to take their time as he learns to trust them. He does give signals when he is getting upset, and would love a family who respects these signals and gives him space when he needs it. Dice has learned a lot from watching the other cats at his foster’s home, and would love a cat companion who is able to learn and respect his boundaries. This could be a kitten who would learn as they grow up, or an older cat who will engage in play but is also happy to give Dice some space.  We can not wait to see how much Andrew Dice Cat grows and thrives in his perfect home!! While Big Charlie is truly not large, he sure is a BIG sweetheart and will be a loyal companion to his new human(s)!  Big Charlie is definitely wise beyond his 9 years and has experienced a lot. He would appreciate patient and kind humans, preferably prior cat owners, who do not mind waiting a bit for him to come out of his shell.  Big Charlie would be ever so grateful to you for providing him with a little extra TLC; giving him his ear drops when necessary and being understanding when he tries so hard but occasionally misses the litter box when he goes #2. As we all have our favorite places to chill at home, so will Big Charlie when he becomes acclimated to his new dwelling.  Big Charlie’s ideal spots to hang out include on or under chairs, on bookshelves and especially on a window sill (of course!). Big Charlie comes solo, and would be most comfortable in a calm and peaceful, pet and child-free environment.  He may not be an extrovert, but Big Charlie can sure be entertaining, jumping like a pinball from the window sill, sprinting 10 feet, changing his mind then darting right back onto the window sill!! Giving Big Charlie some personal space at the beginning will definitely pay off in the end. Your heart will smile bigger than Charlie when you see him curled up on his favorite new spot feeling safe and happy in his furrever home, as he so deserves!    Apply at online application (catsfff.org/adopt) View all of our adoptable cats here (catsfff.org/cats) Our adoption fees are listed here (catsfff.org/adoption-fees) show less

Blossom and her sister Cherry are a bundle of joy and love, now that they have come out of their shells. They started semi feral as they came in, but now they have completely different personality. Blossom is an actual copycat, and will always copy her sister. She lets cherry go be a goofball and then if she likes it, she copies her. She loves laser pointers, sparkle, puff balls, bird videos, running and hiding. this beautiful duo loves to groom each other and would take their sweet sweet time to keep doing that.  Blossom and her sister are a feel good factor, every time they cross a milestone, it gives an amazing sense of happiness. Blossom is a cat who will need your love, care first and then will shower you with loads of love and affection. Blossom has come a long long way from where she started. She still gets startled with loud noises, quick movements. Blossom will need to be handled a lot carefully, slowly and patiently. And once she starts trusting you, she will need all the attention and will be your cuddle buddy. She hates getting her mani, pedi, and will use a good hiss, but we get used to of it. This is one cat who actually pose for the camera. She ultimately cooperates even with new additions pets as well after a short lived turf war. These copycat sisters would do amazingly well in an active household with kids over 10 years old, with parents who are a little experienced with cats. Whipped cream with a Cherry on top please!  All of 6 months, this little girl named Cherry will win you over!   Starting out semi-feral, Cherry and her sister Blossom were a bit skeptical of their surroundings at first.  But with a little time and patience, Cherry became as curious and outgoing as any kitten would be.  Cherry loves to play and tease, batting her favorite toys, hair ties and red sparkle balls underneath the door.  While outgoing, Cherry is slightly timid when she hears loud noises or sees quick movements.  But with love and acceptance, Cherry will be trusting.  She loves attention and will follow you around to see what you are doing.  Her sister Blossom is equally sweet, though a bit more reserved, but with Cherry as her ally, both kitties will provide lots of companionship and affection to their human(s). Cherry would truly appreciate a quiet and relaxed environment.  While she is social and content with human contact, she would thrive in a home with those above 10 years of age, as she prefers more laid-back surroundings.  Cherry and her sister Blossom are a bonded pair and together, are as beautiful and graceful as the Cherry Blossom symbolizes.  Apply at online application (catsfff.org/adopt) View all of our adoptable cats here (catsfff.org/cats) Our adoption fees are listed here (catsfff.org/adoption-fees) show less

Jefferson is a great guy with a take-charge personality! He's bold, assertive, and adventurous, and loves to explore and make friends with all the people that he meets. His curiousity and independence some times gets him into a little bit of trouble, but all that he's REALLY after is a family to call his own, a few catnip toys to chase around, and a soft cozy spot to nap in the sun. Jefferson is FIV+, and stress can cause some issues for him, so he needs a home which is relatively quiet and stable, and preferrably where he can be a single cat or maybe with a puppy friend. FIV affects different cats differently; for Jefferson, it does not affect his day-to-day life, but he will suffer from a flare-up of fever, occasionally--which can be managed with medication. He's a beautiful brown tabby, with long, graceful limbs...if you're a fan of brown tabbies, well, they don't get better than him. And he's also very affectionate, happy, and playful, and he's smart--he can tell, by the tone of your voice, when he's done something naughty, and he will apologize with hugs, headbutts, and kisses. He loves to engage and play, and he's always up for a chase...but if he can't entice you into a game, he is also happy to play with his toys by himself. After a long day, he loves to curl up beside you on the couch and settle in for a nice nap on a cozy movie night in. He's as sweet as can be; please give him the happy home and great life that he deserves!
