0820089 I need a single family home with a fenced in yard (6 ft) since I require lots of physical and mental stimuation! I am also heartworm positive. Heartworm is NOT contagious, though. The rescue covers the cost of treatment at the rescue's vet.  Alice is a sweet and Sassy dog!! She is a high energy dog as a Husky/Shepard mix. She is approximately 4 years old. She would do best in a home with other dogs with matching energy and if the adopter is a runner that would be a bonus! She needs a 6 ft fenced in yard since she can jump a 4 ft split rail fence. She loves to run at the dog park and play. She loves spending time in the backyard chasing other furry friends, rolling around on the ground, and playing tug of war or with other stuffed toys. Anyone considering Alice would have a loyal friend for life. She is kennel trained. She does live in a home with cats but would recommend supervised interactions. She is super curious but respectful. She has been around kids and does fine, but I believe  older kids would be better as she is still learning about body awareness.  She is an amazing babys sitter for other foster puppies who have come through the home!  She is very gentle when she plays with them.  She loves bones--soup bones, marrow bones, and bully sticks! She is also great on a leash. show less

1020050 I need a single family home since I seem to be part pittie. I can NOT go to a home in a city or county with pitbull restrictions! I am also heartworm positive. Heartworm is NOT contagious. The rescue covers the cost of treatment at the rescue's vet.  We are excited to introduce everyone to ATLAS! Atlas is a neutered 5 year old American Bulldog X that is a total love bug! He is currently living with older kids & 3 fur brothers. He fit right in at our house & gets along with everyone! Not sure about cats, but he has chased bunnies so they might not be a great fit. Atlas is a BIG boy with a giant, squishy head! He still needs to put on some weight & he can sometimes be pretty shy. After several days with lots of sleep & yummy food , Atlas has gotten more & more comfortable with his new, comfy, family lifestyle here in Colorado. Atlas came to DCCR with the many homeless dogs rescued from Cleveland, TX. He is being treated for heart worm & is recovering from a skin condition (both non contagious!) Atlas likes to take short walks & spend lots of his time snuggling on a dog bed or soft blanket, so a low to medium activity house would be ideal, especially while he’s taking his heart worm medicine. His skin condition has left him “hair challenged” on his middle section - but look how cute he is in his jammies & hoody - plus his hair is already starting to grow back in!!! Can you remove the weight of the world from his shoulders & give Atlas his “fur-ever” home?!   show less

1020023 Hi!  My name is Belle.  I am a 2-3 month old, spayed, female “lab mix.”  I am a beautiful, sleek black puppy!  I weigh about 15 pounds.  I play well with my litter mates and with my 2-year-old foster brother dog, Stitch.  I have not been around a cat at my foster home, but I would imagine that I could be adaptable to cats.  I am the most curious and playful pup of my litter.  I have tolerated all of the “love” my foster mom has imposed on me when she brushes my teeth, cleans my ears, and clips my nails, but I am not very fond of baths, yet!  I love my foster kids and adults alike.  The kids are young at 5, 7, and 11, so I would be great in any family combination!  I am a puppy and I have lots of training ahead of me, but I am eager to please my family and I get sad when my foster mom tells me, “No” and redirects me.  I am smart and I know how to “sit.”I can sleep all night in my kennel from around 10:30 am until around 6:30 am, but we line my crate with a puppy pad under my blankets for occasional night time accidents.  I use puppy pads and go potty outside with few accidents.  My foster mom gives me soft puppy treats every time I go potty correctly either outside or on the pad.  Each time I go potty, I run to her and sit patiently while she gets my treat!  I also try to trick her into thinking I am going potty by squatting on my puppy pad while she is watching to make her think I am going potty so I can get another treat!  I eat 3 times a day.  I will cuddle on your lap when I am not playing and I will love you forever if you will be mine.  Everyone who meets me says I am so pretty! show less

I have tolerated all of the “love” my foster mom has imposed on me when she brushes my teeth, gives me baths, cleans my ears, and clips my nails!  She wanted me to be all spruced up for my forever home.  I absolutely love my foster kids and adults alike.  The kids are young at 5, 8, and 11, so I would be great in any family combination!  I am a puppy and I have lots of training ahead of me, but I am eager to please my family and I get kind of sad when my foster mom tells me, “No” and redirects me.  I am smart and I know how to “sit” and how to “get in my kennel.”  I can sleep all night in my kennel from around 10:30 pm until around 6:30 am.  I use puppy pads and go potty outside with few accidents.  My foster mom gives me soft puppy treats every time I go potty correctly either outside or on the pad.  Each time I go potty, I run to her and wait patiently while she gets my treat!  I eat 3 times a day and I am growing so fast!  I will snuggle on your lap, lean in to your rubs, and love you forever if you will be mine.  Everyone who meets me falls in love!   show less

0520025 I need lots of physical and mental stimulation. I am suitable for single family homes with fenced in yards. Carmella has a very sweet and gentle demeaner. She listed a 6 years old Doberman mix and is 65 lbs. She came to me with her 7 pups and she was such an amazing mama to her crazy high energy pack. She still acts like a mama to her baby and my foster fail Seven. She playful and so very patient. Even when my pup is trying to eat her food and jumping/sitting on her. She loves to play in our backyard with my puppy and get real excited when she sees you pick up her leash or put on your shoes. She loves going for walks and cars rides to petsmart and is the best copilot on trips to Starbucks. She also really amazing towards kids. All the kids in the neighbor love her and she lights up whenever she sees a kiddo. She does need to be properly introduced to other dogs, she can be a little dog selective but we've been working on it. I really think she'd do well with another dog. she hasn't been introduced to cats but my mom has bearded dragons and she's great with them. Carmella can be pretty shy and hesitant at first. She's come along way but she still learning how to trust. She's slowly coming out of her shell and still learning how to be a dog. She can be a little skittish with loud noises or anything she deems a threat.( such as bicycles or vacuum cleaners) She need someone who is patient and willing to work with her. She knows how to sit and is working on shake. She is potty trained. Dog doors are still scary but she lets you know when she has to go. She's never messed in the house. We also leave her free when we leave home. She can go into a kennel but get anxious. She does really well free roaming, usually lays on her pillow and sleeps. With that being said, She really is a big Luv! She can usually be found lounging on our couch taking naps. Gives you sass when you hog the covers. She loves peanut butter, bacon and getting her ears rubbed. She loves her toys and chew bones. She is a expert de-fluffier of stuffed dog toys. She enjoys the ones that you rip apart and have another toy in it. show less

0920076 I am heartworm positive. Heartworm is not contagious. The rescue covers the cost of the treatment at the rescue's vet.  Hi my name is Chattanooga and I’m a 1 year old spayed hound. I love all of the people I have met but I may be a bit too rough for small children. I have been around children 10 and older and we do just fine. I have beautiful brindle markings. I am curious and I want to jump up to say hello, I’ve been working on down and I’m getting there but will need a little more training to remember my manners. My foster family says I’m very smart and that I should be easy to train however I will need plenty of mental stimulation to stay out of trouble. I love to cuddle and play but I’m also content to lay near by until you have time for fun. I have been enjoying being out in the yard for hours when the weather allows. I need a yard with a 6 foot privacy fence because I can climb a chain link or metal fence. I don’t bark much and I respond well to the command “hush”. I am crate trained and potty trained and I will let you know when I need to go out. I have shown no signs of aggression in fact you can take my toys and food away from me and I will let you have them. I can’t wait to become an important member of your family and show you all of my love show less
