Alani is a sturdy, medium-sized package of sweet, cuddly goodness.  If there is a dog with more joy, I have not found her.  If there is a smarter dog around, I've not met it.  Alani is full of joy, life, and all things exuberant. Alani is a great family dog – good with people of all ages and sizes as well as dogs her size and larger.  She is still young and full of energy, but if you can match it by giving her a walk and some yard time each day, then you will be blessed with a creature so loving and grateful that you will wonder each day how you got so lucky.  She is smart as a whip and learns as fast. ****Prior to filling out an application or contacting RHS, please completely read the instructions below.**** ALL ADOPTERS/FOSTERS MUST LIVE WITHIN 60 MILES OF RICHARDSON, TX. Bluebell is a loving girl with striking green eyes. Taken into our program from a local shelter with a litter of kittens that she lovingly raised; Bluebell is enjoying the quiet life of a safe, indoor kitty in her foster home (and as with all our animals, she is now spayed and more comfortable than ever). While she is doing very well there, she wants nothing more than to find her forever home where she can receive undivided human companionship and affection.  Bluebell is playful when you want to interact with her, but also settles down to relax on the couch or rug. She loves to cuddle up in her owner’s bed at night. In her ideal home she would be the only pet, not having to share human attention. When provided with scratching surfaces, she is generally not destructive, but may nibble on paper once in a while, a habit she should outgrow in time. If you are reading this, we are still accepting applications on this pet.  Chip Grey is a 4 year old Schnauzer Yorkie mix with a sweet, funny personality to make your heart melt.  He loves to play with his foster brothers and sisters... but his favorite thing to do is sit in your lap and sleep right next to you!  He insists!  If you're watching tv or reading, he wants to be right next to you or in your lap.  He welcomes you home with bounces!   Chip loves toys and sitting at the window or door to see people go by. He walks great on a leash and does excellent on car rides.  He does shed some but with regular brushing his coat is lovely. He's looking for a dog-experienced adopter who will give him the attention and space he needs to be happy. Chip bonds very strongly with his person. His adopter will need to be very patient while he adjusts to a new situation and give him time to settle in. He's not an instant velcro dog, but when he bonds it's very strong. New situations are difficult for him. He does have a bite history when provoked or frightened but none have been severe.  Chip would prefer a home with no children under 18 because he doesn’t like to be disturbed while he sleeps. (Who does?) He will snap at you if you wake him.  Chip needs to be on a leash 100% of the time when outside for walks and potty breaks or car rides.  A solidly fenced yard is preferred since Chip can escape and go exploring through small holes. ****Prior to filling out an application or contacting RHS, please completely read the instructions below.**** ALL ADOPTERS/FOSTERS MUST LIVE WITHIN 60 MILES OF RICHARDSON, TX. Daisy Mae came from a property with many, many dogs. She never got the love and attention she deserved, so she needs to learn that good luvin' is a-okay! She's come a long way already, but must have a home that will continue to show her patience. She also needs at least one secure dog friend to help her relax, and speaking of relaxing, a secure backyard would be out of this world!  She's the most beautiful, dark-as-the-night black we have ever seen...and this girl just deserves a chance. If you are a person who understands that some dogs need to warm up, on their own timeframe, then we'd love to hear from you. Egg is an adventurous little kitten with a heart of gold and the biggest purr in Texas. He's a man about town who loves having fun wherever he goes. He loves snuggling his foster family at every available opportunity.  His foster family first heard his purr when he was a few days old and couldn't figure out where such a big noise was coming from. Egg's mom couldn't nurse anymore when he was about two weeks old and he had to be bottle fed until he was big enough to eat on his own. He loves playing with his brother Toast, and trying to befriend his fosters' resident cats.  Egg would love a feline companion, whether that be his brother Toast, another RHS kitten, or your resident cat/s. He loves his foster parents' pomeranian, and we think he'd be good with kids who have good cat manners. He's neutered, litter box trained, and a great way to start your day. Fletcher is a handsome, active boy! He seeks out cuddles at nap and bedtime after spending most part of the day playing with his toys. He is a great listener, very smart, trainable and obedient. He knows basic obedience commands, like sit, down & stay. He is also crate and potty trained.  He LOVES other dogs, so his ideal home would have a playmate around his size or bigger and a backyard. Don't have another dog? Not a problem! You can help him to stay busy with daily walks, once or twice a day.  Fletcher does well with older children (13+) that know how to interact with dogs. Young children are not recommended for him since he gets overwhelmed by their curiosity and extra attention. He is a little wary of strangers, but warms up fast (24+ hrs) and is a friend for life once he knows you. He loves to keep you company. He is the perfect coworker if you work from home, or just want to relax and watch TV.   ****Prior to filling out an application or contacting RHS, please completely read the instructions below.**** ALL ADOPTERS/FOSTERS MUST LIVE WITHIN 60 MILES OF RICHARDSON, TX. He is a purr machine and wants nothing more than someone to cuddle with and love him forever. Kyler also loves playing with toys, especially hair ties, and can be quite vocal during play with the cutest mews ever. He gets along great with other cats and would be okay with a cat friendly dog. Kyler is neutered, litter box trained, doesn't mind nail trimmings or getting his medicine, and is estimated to be born around June 2020. Kyler does have a mild heart murmur which currently requires medicine every 12 hours. He may grow out of this condition, but will require medicine for the rest of his life if not. Lopez is a sweet boy who recently lost his owners due to their health issues, and ended up in the shelter after being found wandering as a stray. Poor boy, his world fell apart!  He's doing great in his current foster home, loving the other dogs. He is wary of new people who come into the home but warms up fairly well. He just completed his obedience training, so we are happy to report that he is doing better with new people! Lopez is a fun and affectionate boy hoping his next "forever home" will last forever! His ideal home would be a calm place, perhaps with a retired couple or a person without kids. He is good with other dogs, but prefers to be the only dog or to have a play buddy who is bigger than him. Lopez is house trained and despite being a senior dog, he is full of energy and doesn't have any health Issues.  ****Prior to filling out an application or contacting RHS, please completely read the instructions below.**** ALL ADOPTERS/FOSTERS MUST LIVE WITHIN 60 MILES OF RICHARDSON, TX. Max is an alpha-type male. He is sleek, strong, and very athletic. Max is very active and interested in exploring inside, on top of, and underneath everything! He is a high-energy entertainment package. It's fun to watch his antics and enjoy his very loud purr when he lands briefly on your lap. He and Kiki and very much alike. She is the smallest of the litter, and he is the largest. He purrs and kneads non-stop to show his appreciation and affection. Due to his big kitten energy, we would prefer Max be adopted with one of her siblings or go to a home with resident pets. If you are reading this, we are still accepting applications on this pet. Miss Lizzy (Miss Elizabeth Bennet to her close friends and confidants) is the loveliest calico lady with a penchant for receiving belly pets and chasing wand toys. A former community cat, this tiny teen mom made her way inside her foster family’s house with her five day old kittens in tow and has been living the indoor life ever since! Lizzy had a rough start to motherhood. She came down with mastitis and had to spend few tough weeks at the vet for surgery and treatment. Once she recuperated, Lizzy came home and continued raising her boys. While at the vet, she was the perfect patient and always took her meds without fight or complaint.  Lizzy is a truly unique cat who loves belly rubs and makes the cutest goat-like noises when playing and chasing her baby boys around. She’s often found with her tongue sticking out or drinking water in the funniest way. She loves eating crunchy and soft kitty treats and hanging out with her foster family and 2 growing kittens. Lizzy enjoys the company of her foster family’s Pomeranian and is longing for a forever home with at least one kitty friend, and would be happy with dog pals as well. She would be happy to find a new home together with her chunky baby Toast, who’s quite the mama’s boy, but it's not necessary as long as she has other feline pals. She’s never met any kids but we think she’d probably do well in a family with children who have proper cat manners.  We can’t say enough good things about this precious girl. Lizzy has been living inside her foster home for just a few months and has adapted incredibly well considering everything she’s been through. She enjoys snacks, play, and attention, and while she's still developing into an indoor girl, we know she'll be the perfect addition to someone's home.  If you are reading this, we are still accepting applications on this pet. I am Princess, as you can see, the name suits me well since I am regally stunning! I am playful, gentle, cuddly and goofy, but as a through and through German Shepherd I am also smart, energetic and protective of my people and home. You can count on me to let you know immediately when a stranger is at the door! I love to spend time with my people, playing with kids and other dogs, or going for long walks. By the way, not to brag, but my foster mom says I have great leash manners. I am also house and crate trained, and know basic commands like sit, down and stay, and I am eager to learn more!... Hint, I love food, so it is easy to train me! As a work breed, I need a good amount of daily exercise and structure. I really thrive when sticking to a schedule (meals time, walks, potty breaks, play & bed time) My ideal furever home would be with an active person or a family, who would take me for long walks, hikes or jogs. Perhaps somebody who works from home, since I love to be at your side and cuddle. Please note, due to her breed and age, Princess must have access to a good size backyard (she wouldn't do well in an apartment). Experience with the breed or working dogs is MANDATORY since GSDs require training and a life purpose.  We will not accept applications from new dog owners.   Princess is very loving and smart, and has so much potential. If you understand the breed and have the time and love that she deserves, please fill out an adoption application. This love bug will be a perfect member of your family! ****Prior to filling out an application or contacting RHS, please completely read the instructions below.**** ALL ADOPTERS/FOSTERS MUST LIVE WITHIN 60 MILES OF RICHARDSON, TX. In early October, a Good Samaritan found Pugsley in her backyard.  He had numerous puncture wounds all over his tiny body.  She thought he was attacked by some wildlife or coyote.  Pugsley is lucky to be alive.  She took him to her vet to clean the wounds and applied pain management.  She asked for RHS help to continue to care for him. Initially Pugsley was very sensitive to noise and movement.  His true personality was hidden behind the pain that he was suffering.  Most of his wounds are healed after a month-long of wound care and antibiotics.  He is quite a different dog now. We believe Pugsley is around 2 years old.  We named him Pugsley Addams because he came to us around Halloween time.  His favorite pastime is to follow you around the house.  He wants to have you in his line of sight all the time.  He loves to cuddle and will be a wonderful companion dog to anyone.  He enjoys his daily walks and walks well on leash.  Sometimes he'll bark at larger dogs he sees and they probably remind him of his traumatic experience.  He has been around with dogs and is ok with them.  He is ok with cats too. ****Prior to filling out an application or contacting RHS, please completely read the instructions below.**** ALL ADOPTERS/FOSTERS MUST LIVE WITHIN 60 MILES OF RICHARDSON, TX.
