Are you are looking for a dog, you can walk easily ?  A dog that we are NOT requiring a fenced in yard for ?  Do you want a loyal constant companion devoted to her people? …. Then keep reading. Onyx came to our rescue after she gave birth to her puppies at a high kill shelter. She is 2 years old and 55 pounds.  She looks like a flat coat retriever with a bit of Aussie in her. Her ears are not as floppy as a retrievers, that is the only thing that would indicate that she is a mix. Other than that she looks all retriever.  Onyx is beautiful inside and out, well maybe not so beautiful outside now because she has a sagging tummy and some hair loss on her back due to a flea infestation when she was taken to the shelter, however the hair she does have, is long black shiny and beautiful. The hair on her backside is growing back with medication and creams, and the tummy is getting tighter now that she is is not nursing. Soon this caterpillar will turn into a beautiful butterfly. Onyx is a people pleaser. She is a dog who loves her humans. She is gentle and well-mannered and just wants to lay at your feet. She is great on a leash, and loves to go for walks. Onyx can jump a fence, however the time she did it she just wanted to see us as we were on the other side.. Since she loves her walks, no fence is required as long as she is always on a leash. No tie outs, no invisible fences… just someone who is home throughout the day and will take her outside on a leash. ...... She is also house broken, no accidents if you take her out on a regular schedule. She craves human attention and love. She gets along well with low energy dogs, she doesn't really play much, and  does not like other dogs in her face. Our requirements for Onyx’s new home would be that she is not left alone much during the day. She needs her humans. A quiet suburban type subdivision with sidewalks for walking is preferred and no busy roads.  A younger active retired couple would be great for her, or a home without young children.  She is good with kids as they are little humans, however a quiet calmer place is what she needs. Applicants will need to live within one hours distance of Grovertown. Onyx is vaccinated, spayed and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $100 show less
