Blossom is a super pretty 5-month-old, 22-pound female Labrador (and Pit) mix from Tijuana. Blossom is a big ball of love.  She loves to cuddle, lay on your belly and she especially enjoys being carried around in your arms.  She yearns for the closeness of humans.  If you are too busy to hold her she will gladly sit at your feet until your hands are free again.   Blossom seems eager to learn, is well behaved and follows rules very well.  She will watch a good television show with you or YouTube, as long as your lap or shoulder is available to support her.  She absolutely loves to go on walks.  She interacts with dogs while on walks and seems very friendly to the neighborhood cats she comes across. Blossom is working on house breaking, but is eager to please and will nail it with consistency and routine!  The way to Blossom's heart is treats and belly rubs. She has done well in a household with one teenager. She is smart too! She will bark to request water or food. She will play with toys with her family and loves to entertain them. Blossom could benefit from an active home. She enjoys running and sprinting in the hall on occasions.  As a matter of fact, she'd probably prefer to play with other dogs and she'd make a wonderful sister! She's a sweet sweet girl.  Vaccinated for rabies, DA2PP and bordetella. Microchipped. Needs spay (schedlued for 5/19). Brinkley is a 2-year-old, 20-pound male chihuahua / terrier mix from Alabama — a true mutt with short legs and a stocky body! He is housetrained and very good with other dogs of all sizes, as well as human strangers (both men and women) and if you let them give him a treat when they meet him, he warms up even faster. He is super sweet, attentive and loves to snooze on his foster's bed. He also needs a bit of help with his walking, but only because he's so excited by the city and is still getting used to all the sights and smells. He is the perfect size dog for an apartment, and loves to look out the window and snooze in the sunspots. And when you arrive home he'll greet you by LEAPING up into the air and giving you lots of kisses! Vaccinated for rabies, DAPPv, and bordetella. Neutered, microchipped, and heartworm negative. Cachito, AKA "Gary" as his foster calls him, is a 9-month-old, 9-pound male chihuahua mix from Tijuana. He is fully house trained and hates the rain so will go very fast and then return quickly to the front door!  He loves a snuggle on the couch, he doesn't sit in your lap but he likes to curl up right beside you and will flip over for a belly rub. He sleeps through the night in his bed but says "no thank you" to his crate! He plays dead when you put his harness on but once outside, he trots and gallops with his tail high and wagging. He is still a bit skittish of New York noises and he prefers you get down to his level to interact and say hello.  He is beginning to show signs of playfulness - little zoomies after walks and he's started to chew on his toys.  Chewing is an exciting thing for him, he will steal your socks and things like letters and recipe cards are very tasty!  He is now interested in other dogs, the more calm, the better. He appears to dislike (or be afraid of) cats.  He can spot the local bodega cat from afar and will actively refuse to walk past! He is mostly quiet - he has barked a couple of times in his foster home, once at an unknown thing in our hallway and once at a cat! His foster reports that he is a great eater and that he is all-around basically the most perfect dog.  Vaccinated for rabies, DA2PP, and bordetella. Neutered and microchipped. Flea, tick, and heartworm prevention due 5/5. Please contact us DIRECTLY using the instructions below if you are interested in adopting one of our Waggytails! Celine is an 8-week-old, 5-pound female chihuahua mix from Tijuana. Celine is rambunctious, curious, and our very vocal girl (we liken her to Celine Dion lol). She is highly attached to humans and tends to vocalize everytime her humans are not nearby, and likes being held and petted. When given free reign to roam around outside the pen, she has no fear and likes to explore her surroundings. Celine would do great in any home as long as her family is well-equipped to raise a puppy and can provide her with the attention that she needs until she's older.  Vaccinated for one round of DA2PP. Emmy is an 8-week-old, 2.5-pound female chihuahua mix from Alabama. If Emmy could play all day, she would! Active and playing right until she falls asleep. Loves to fall asleep on top of her foster mom, but cuddling next to her sister on a big fluffy dog bed works just as well. Loves being held and cared for! Enjoys exploring the the apartment and watching traffic or dogs walking out the window. Knows to use the wee wee pad and doesn’t have accidents. She is excited to be around cats, dogs and people! Gets a little sad when you leave the room but quickly gets over it by playing with her sister or toys. Loves her toys and playing tug of war with her sister. She is not afraid of loud noises that come from the street or the vacuum cleaner. Very quiet and well behaved in her carrying case while riding in cars or on the nyc subway with her sister.  A perfect apartment/city pup! Please note - Emmy and her sister, Lilly, are currently being treated for ringworm. While it was caught early, they must continue their 3-week course of treatment. Adopters must understand the implications of treating ringworm and be committed to seeing them through their treatment.  Vaccinated for 2 rounds of DA2PP and lepto. Next round of DA2PP due 5/28. Estrella is the sweetest, most gentle and loving girl who is not particular - looking for a home that will give her all the love and affection she deserves. This gorgeous girl gets along with dogs of all sizes and is nearly house-trained. Estrella is a little shy at first, but warms up quickly jumping in your lap for kisses and cuddles all day long. She has adapted quickly to the busy streets of Brooklyn, still a bit wary of fast cyclists and loud ambulances, but greatly improved in the week she has been here. Estrella loves to explore and sniff everything outside, does not pull on the leash, and is very polite to people and dogs. When she gets startled outside, she will come up to you for reassurances - comforted quickly with a quick scratch and a kiss on the head - ready to go again! Please meet Gordo - a world class cuddler. Gordo is a 1-year old 10-pound male cute chi mix from Tijuana. He is always looking for a snuggle and will get creative in finding seating as close to you as possible. Hank is a 6-month-old, 8-pound male chihuahua mix from Alabama who is a major lover boy! Hank is eager to learn and to please. He is silly, funny and playful. He needs an adopter who will set boundaries and continue his training. He’s already learned to sit, shake, and to go to his crate on command! He’s working on loving his crate, and his foster often finds him napping on top of it instead of inside. The best home for Hank would be with confident people who have small-breed experience and understand their quirks. He’s thriving living with his “pack” of well-adjusted dogs in his foster home, so a house with other dogs would be nice to have. Hank’s adopters should understand that he will need continued training, as many young dogs do. He can become very attached to his one person and needs experienced adopters who can correct that behavior. Hank should not go to a home with young children at this time. With love, training, and patience, Hank is a great little companion!  Vaccinated for rabies, DA2PP, lepto, and bordetella. Neutered and microchipped. Flea, tick, and heartworm prevention due 5/19. Lika (pronounced Lee-ka)  is a quiet 5-year-old, 40-pound female shepherd mix from Tijuana. Lika was timid when she first arrived but was fast to learn stairs, the sounds of the city and experiencing new people. She actually prefers people to animals and she's super friendly to all humans.  She is mastering leash walking  and walks close to her person. She also appears to be mostly housebroken.  Lika's not a big eater during this decompression stage, and treats don't really motivate her. She just likes a pat on the head and a cuddle now and then and loves when her foster gives her a belly rub (right? who wouldn't?)  .  Lika would do well in any setting, suburban or city , but ideally as an only dog, with a yard. She's still a bit leary of meeting new dogs and has shown some leash reactivity towards dogs who make eye contact with her.   She is indifferent to cats on the street.   She will need a patient owner who gets that she had a hard life on the streets for 5 years.   When she finds her loving home we're confident that she will be confident! Please apply to adopt Lika today.  Vaccinated for rabies, DA2PP, and bordetella. Lili is a 7-year-old, 10-pound female chihuahua mix from LA. Lili is a sweet little snuggle bug! She is a little timid and scared at first but after you give your her space and a little time to warm up on her own, she will start wagging her tail and want to cuddle up all the time. She always wants to be near her person! She uses the pee pads like a pro! She does not bark, she’s super cuddly, and the more blankets in her bed/crate the better.Even though she’s a little shy, she will let you pick her up and will roll over for some belly rubs whenever you’re near! She really loves the crate as it makes her feel safe. Loud noises do make her nervous, in the house and on walks so patience is just needed to get her going again. She is walking outside on a leash, but will need continued leash training to build her confidence and desensitize her to the hustle and bustle of NYC. Lili would make a great addition to most any home who will give this sweet girl the time she needs to come around and feel comfortable. We'd love to find an adopter willing to train her and help grow her confidence. Because she is small and skittish around noise, we recommend no young children. Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, and bordatella. Spayed and microchipped. Needs heartworm test. Flea, tick, and heartworm prevention due 5/19. Lilly is an 8-week-old, 2-pound female chihuahua mix from Alabama. Lilly is a very smart and friendly puppy.  She quickly understood how and where to use the wee wee pad, and has not had an accident since. She is a little smaller than her sister Emmy, but don’t let the size fool you. She holds her own in their daily wrestling matches. She is excited to be around cats, dogs and people alike, and is very polite when greeting them. Loves being held and cared for! If she could curl up in your necks all day with a few smooches in between, she’d be content. She doesn’t seem to show too much separation anxiety when left alone in the room. Instead she’ll either play with her sister and toys, or take a nap. Loves her toys and playing tug of war. She is also not afraid of loud noises that come from the street or the vacuum cleaner. Marlin is a 4-year-old, 30-pound male hound mix from Tijuana. Marlin is a calm, gentle boy. He is super affectionate and loves to cuddle in bed or on the couch with his human. Marlin loves his people and would do well with people who work from home or who can give him love, affection, and snuggles.  He doesn’t know how to play with other dogs just yet, but likes to sniff them occasionally on the street. He can co-exist fine with other calm dogs in the household and is pretty indifferent to them!  Marlin is still a bit nervous on a leash and startled by the loud noises in NYC, so a home in a quiet neighborhood or with a yard would be great for him. Overall, an adopter who can help build his confidence on a leash would be a great thing for him. He hasn't been around children, but Marlin's foster feels he is gentle enough to potentially be good with calm, gentle children with a proper introduction. Marlin would make a great addition to any home looking for a sweet, snuggly dog.  Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, and bordetella. Microchipped, heartworm negative, and neutered. Ready to take on the 2 best friends that anyone can have?  Tom and Jerry are two bonded Jack Russel terriers from Tijuana and are looking for a home together. Jerry is 1-year-old and 14-pounds and Tom (dad) is 3-years-old and 8-pounds. This father and son duo will shower you with hugs and kisses anytime they get the chance.  They love playing together and sleeping together.  Both are good with their tiny foster sister who loves to boss them around.  They are doing OK on leash so far, somewhat fearful and cautious still adjusting to the hustle and bustle.  Tom can be protective of his son, Jerry, when a strange dog or man approaches he may growl or bark to warn them off.   They are good with small children, pee pad and crate trained, and sleep though the night.  Slowly learning basic commands like sit, wait and off they listen well though sometimes too excited to follow through for long.
