Jinx is a 7-month-old, 12-pound male jack russell terrier mix. Jinx is still acclimating to life in NYC. He came from a rural shelter in Alabama and in just a few days in his foster home, he's made a lot of progress. Jinx needs a patient and empathetic owner who can teach him how to be a puppy.  He has not yet been leashed, but uses a wee pad. He's curious and super sweet and does well with company (he doesn't like to be left alone). Jinx is still a timid little guy, but will come to you when he feels comfortable, especially with treats. He has been receptive to crate training and has slept through most nights. He loves to sleep and chew on his bone. He is most comfortable in cozy spots, like under the table, under the bed, or in his carrier with lots of blankets and toys!  Because of how timid and shy Jinx is, **we believe he must go to a home with another confident, playful dog and without young children**. Jinx will make a great addition to any family with the time and patience to help this pup grow his confidence. Vaccinated for rabies, DA2PP, and bordetella. Neutered and microchipped. Flea, tick, and heartworm prevention due 10/7. Please contact us DIRECTLY using the instructions below if you are interested in adopting one of our Waggytails! Visit our website ( for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal.  Adoptions: Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue. show less
