Caleb in a nutshell: 3 months old. 12 pounds and growing. Terrier blend puppy boy. Adventurous. Loves to be outside. Playful. Meet Caleb. No, he’s not the dog on the Target TV commercial, but we think he’s cuter anyway! Who can resist that adorable face with the little black eye patch? Caleb is an active happy boy who thinks being outdoors playing with sticks is the best day ever. If this little pup is awake he’s in the action, then it’s time for more napping. Caleb is all boy, running and tumbling and jumping around in the leaves. He eats like a champ and sleeps through the night. Sweet puppy breath and kisses are a specialty of his and he can’t wait to share those kisses with you. An active family would be perfect for this fun & energetic boy. Caleb needs someone that has the time to spend time continuing to train him on things like leash walking and general manners. He’s not housebroken yet so you’ll have to train him. He does go potty every time he goes outside and rarely had accidents when in his gated area, so he’s getting the idea. If you’re ready to give some good love to a new puppy, and get plenty back, what are you waiting for? You gotta home, we gotta dog. Fill out an adoption application and let’s see if there’s a match. Caleb is heartworm negative, vaccinated and ready for his forever home. He needs to be adopted locally so he can complete his puppy vetting – neuter and microchip -- which is included in his adoption donation of $350. show less

The bonified basics on Carter: 3 months old. 11 pounds and growing. Terrier blend puppy boy. Fun loving and playful. Loves to be outside running around. Kid, dog and cat friendly. Meet Carter. His favorite joke is: ‘Why do dogs run in circles? Because it's hard to run in squares!’ Well Carter sure loves to run around when he’s out in the yard and there are leaves to jump in. High on his list are squeaky balls and toys too. He's good with kids, other dogs and cats. How can anyone resist a puppy? The sweet smell of puppy breath, handsome mugs, non stop fun to watch. With this little boy, you’ll have an opportunity to train him and develop him into a good doggy citizen and the reward of doggy love coming back to you is worth every minute. An active family would be perfect for this handsome and lively boy. Carter greets his person with a waggy tail when you come home for the day. What could be a better ending to your day? Carter needs someone that has the time to spend time continuing to train him on things like leash walking and general manners. He’s not housebroken yet so you’ll have to train him on that as well, but he’s a smart little guy and is picking up on it pretty well. The shake down on Charlotte: 3 months old. 10 pounds and growing. Terrier blend girl. Cute as a button. Snuggler who loves playing with toys. Meet Charlotte. Her favorite joke is: ‘What do you call a really cold puppy? A pupsicle!’ Charlotte is no pupsicle though because she’s warm and fuzzy and likes to give puppy kisses. She is a funny and silly little girl who likes tug of war toys, or really any type of toys, a lot. We aren’t sure if she aspires to be in a Cirque du Soleil show in the future, but she sure has a little acrobatic side and is a silly roly poly puppy who does lots of somersaults. She also walks into everything so who really knows. An active family would be perfect for this fun & pretty girl. Charlotte needs someone that has the time to spend time continuing to train her as a growing puppy and love her as much as she loves in return. She’s working on housebreaking and, just like with any puppy, her new family will need to be able to give her potty breaks every four hours so she masters that training.  If you can see yourself being entertained by this little love muffin every day, what are you waiting for? You gotta home, we gotta dog. Fill out an adoption application and let’s see if there’s a match. Charlotte is ready for her forever home and needs to be adopted locally so she can complete her puppy vetting -- boosters, spay and microchip -- which is included in her adoption donation of $350.   show less

The basics on Cleo: 7 years old. 13 pounds. Joyful Beagle and Chihuahua blend girl. Loves her person. Foodie. Lap dog. Meet Cleo. She doesn’t have ESP like Miss Cleo the hotline psychic, and she doesn’t have a political bone in her body like Cleopatra, but this Cleo does have the ability to make you feel like the most important person in the world. She's all about spending time with you and enjoying the outdoors. Cleo is a joyful dog and greets each day with a wagging tail. She’s not super active or playful but loves the outdoors and sunbathing. While not required, a fenced in yard would be a big bonus for her since she enjoys going in and out of the house and lounging outside. Cleo is highly skilled at being a lap dog. She climbs right into your lap, puts her little head back and gazes into your eyes or sticks her snout in the crook of your arm.  What a lover. Although she gets along with other dogs, she likes to remind them that her person is “her” person. She responds to being corrected when showing some possessiveness so she just needs her adopter to continue working on this with her. Cleo is good in the car and good on a leash. Cleo is quite the foodie. She likes her own and might think that all bowls are fair game if you don’t keep an eye on her. Just mention the word "treat" and she leaps in the air with exuberance, jumping and turning in circles. It’s hard for her to wait her turn for the treat, so she needs some gentle correction. She’s compliant and is a dog that will listen when you correct her. She responds to firmness without being loud - she is sensitive about a raised voice. Cleo is fully housetrained. If this little loving beauty sounds like the perfect arm candy for you, what are you waiting for? You gotta home, we gotta dog. Fill out an adoption application and let’s see if there’s a match. Cleo is heartworm negative, spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready for her forever home. Her adoption donation is $350. show less

Cotton is a 1 year old, 60-pound Labrador Retriever and American bulldog blend boy. This young boy is as sweet as can be! Cotton has never met a stranger – he is super friendly and greets everyone he meets like a long lost friend. You won’t want to miss out on one of Cotton’s famous doggie kisses – this gentleman just has so much love to give! Cotton enjoys spending time outdoors: going for a walk, playing in the backyard, or simply laying on the porch and soaking up the sun. Cotton is still a young boy so loves playtime and has plenty of energy for long walks. After a good play session, Cotton turns into quite the snuggle bug – he loves to cuddle up beside you on the couch, or bury himself in a cozy blanket on a comfy dog bed. Cotton gets along well with other dogs, big or small. He is a playful, young guy who isn't always quite aware of his size, so he would do best with another doggie mate that does not mind his playful nature. Cotton would also be very content as your one and only pet. Cotton is deaf, but he is very attentive to his people and is learning to respond to hand signals, so his hearing deficit does not slow him down one bit. Being the young guy that he is, Cotton is still polishing some of his manners. He is also still learning to stay home along for extended periods of time, so someone who can be home more often would be a plus for Cotton. Fun-loving Cotton would make a wonderful addition to any family! Cotton is housetrained, heartworm negative, neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready for his forever home. His adoption donation is $225 and will include three training sessions with a qualified force-free trainer.  show less

The pooch profile on Gino: 11 months old. 8 pounds. Terrier blend boy. Active, affectionate, adorably scruffy boy who would like another dog for a playmate. No condos or apartments as he’s quite barky. Meet Gino. He just closed his Tinder account, signed up on Match and is looking for a serious relationship. Could you be the one? This friendly little guy is looking for someone that likes affection (he lets his foster mom hold him and he lies on his back for tummy scratches), someone that has another dog (he’d love to have a furry playmate or two) and someone that likes the outdoors (he loves his outside time). Gino would love to be with someone that takes him for walks and someone that has a basket full of toys. He plays with toys all day and night and he loves to just throw them up in the air. Hysterical young pup and very smart. He’s got loads of personality, is a happy boy with a waggy tail and is very friendly. An active family would be perfect for this playful & adorable boy. Gino needs an adopter that will spend time continuing to train him as he grows into a good canine citizen. He’s not housebroken yet. He’d be best in a single family home rather than an apartment or a condo because he can be quite vocal. Just the facts on Julep: 10 months old. 35 pounds and growing. Lab blend. Active female who would like another dog for a playmate. Meet Julep. Her favorite quote: ‘Yes I know where your socks are and I believe you know where the treats are.’ Don’t let the demure southern name fool you, this girl will grab socks any chance she gets! Julep is all puppy - if she’s awake, she’s on the move – so much to be excited about in life! Like food. She loves food. Julep is a very loving pup and will be a great companion for someone. She stays right at the feet of her person, whether that’s on the kitchen floor as you cook, in the bathroom (to keep you company), or wherever you go in the house. She’s not crazy about being left alone and would love to join a home with another dog to play with and chase around out in the yard.  Julep gets along great with small dogs and large dogs, never met a bone she didn’t like to chew, or a ball she didn’t want to chase, and she likes playing with toys as well. She's great in the car too.  An active family would be perfect for this playful & adorable girl. She takes a minute when she meets new people, but 5 minutes later is fast friends with them. Julep needs someone that has the time to spend time continuing to train her as a growing puppy and love her as unconditionally as she loves in return. She is housebroken.  Julep is a smart girl with a good start to house manners and because she loves food, training her should be a breeze. If you can see this bundle of love sharing her fun personality with you & your family, we’d love to learn more about you and have you fill out an adoption application. Julep is vaccinated, microchipped and is ready for her forever home.  She should be adopted in the Central Florida area as she is due to be spayed in mid-March, which is included in her adoption donation amount of $375.   show less

The fast facts on Lucky: 10 years old. 12 pounds. Active Poodle boy. Velcro dog who will be your shadow. Food aggressive with people food, so keeping it away from altogether him is best. Needs an experienced owner. Meet Lucky. You’re gonna feel like the lucky one when you bring this little gent into your family. He is cuddly and snuggly and he’ll sit right on your chest and look you in the eyes. He’s the kind of dog that hears “meeting in the bathroom!” when you get up to go to the bathroom yourself. Lucky loves to chase balls and taking walks is super high on his list. So much so that he bounces with each step – pure happiness. That dog bed? It’ll sit empty at night because he’s all about the people bed, burrowing deep under the covers. Lucky is a great co-pilot in the car. When you first meet him he’s a bit shy but once he’s comfortable he is so loving and just wants to be on top of you or in your lap.  Lucky loves men, women and children. He gets along well with other dogs but does like them to know he’s top dog. Stay away from giving him people food – better to keep it away completely as he gets food aggressive when it's within his reach. He’s fully housetrained. This sweet little man is best being able to roam free in the house - being confined is not his thing, so no crates please.  If this super affectionate boy sounds like someone you’d like to have follow you around the house all day, what are you waiting for? Maxwell is a 7-year-old, 42-pound Labrador Retriever and Beagle blend boy.  Maxwell is a guy who likes to take it slow. It takes a little bit of time for him to form relationships with people and he can be shy. He is still working on meeting and bonding with people, but has made remarkable progress since being in our care. So much progress he has stunned us all! Once you've earned Maxwell's trust, the rewards are great. He's a very gentle, quiet, and attentive dog, who absolutely adores the one he's deemed to be his person. Maxwell's favorite thing in the whole wide world - beside food and yummy treats of course - is playing with his dog buddies. He loves the company of other large, playful dogs - especially females. Together with his dog buddies, Maxwell loves to fetch, role in the grass, and play tag. Maxwell comes to us from a hoarding situation, where he was not given much exposure to the outside world, so most experiences are still new and scary to Maxwell. He is working on gaining confidence in the world and has spent several months in a board-and-train program with a professional, positive-reinforcement based dog trainer. Maxwell has made great strides, but because he is still a bit insecure, he will need to find a home with someone who can continue to help him build his confidence, keep up his training, and meet him with lots of love and patience. We know this all may sound like a lot, but Maxwell promises he is worth it! Maxwell is housetrained, heartworm negative, neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. He is ready for his forever home and hoping that his perfect forever family is out there! Maxwell is free to adopt or eligible for our Furever Foster program. His adoption will include a training package with a qualified force-free trainer in the adopter's area. Maxwell may also be considered for adoption outside the state of Florida. show less

Fast facts on Melo: 3 years old. 17 pounds. Handsome Maltese blend boy. Needs socialization and housebreaking training. Protective of his human. Separation anxiety. No small children. Meet Melo. He’s not on Twitter, but he will still follow you. In fact, he’s pretty much glued to his person and very protective of that person. Melo is looking for a savvy dog owner who is home more often than not because he does have separation anxiety. Melo loves crinkly toys and belly rubs and he’s quite the cuddler once he feels comfortable. If you’re willing to put some time in to work on his training and will continue to build up his confidence, you’ll see that this sweet and adorable boy has so much potential. He just needs the right person to show him what’s expected of him and to lead the way. Due to his shy nature, he’s still learning to trust people and his surroundings. He’s a bit vocal when it comes to other dogs being around him, but this is mostly out of fear and he doesn’t show any aggression. Small active children are also a bit much for him and he’d prefer to have a calm environment in his new home. Melo needs to be housetrained. If you’re the kind of person who wants a diamond in the rough and sees that this pup just needs a home to call his own and a strong leader, what are you waiting for? You gotta home, we gotta dog. The stats on Mini: 8 years old. 11 pounds. Terrier and Corgi blend girl. Loving. Will follow you around. Needs another dog in the home or someone home more often than not. Must be adopted in the Central Florida area for re-evaluation on her knee in the future. Meet Mini. We think she may be watching too much HGTV because she fancies herself an interior designer, always repositioning her bed and toys until they are in perfect position. Mini loves to be involved in the family, and will be your little shadow wherever you go. She’s very alert and tends to bark only as needed.  Mini will continually entertain you since she loves to chase anything that moves. Her foster mom says she one of the most curious and focused dogs she’s met, whether it’s her attention to lizard tracking or obsessing over her rubber toys. Mini loves her walks but she’s equally comfortable on your lap or in her doggy bed.   Mini is an easy going dog and is a good calm passenger in the car. She’s not crazy about being alone for any long period of time so needs a home where there’s another dog to keep her company or where someone is home more often than not. She’s fully housebroken too. Fast facts on Noel: 4 years old. 9 pounds. Miniature Schnauzer and Poodle blend girl. Spunky girl with paralyzed back legs but do not tell her she has a disability, she doesn’t know! If you have a deep appreciation for the resilience of animals and want to pay it forward by opening your home to a special needs dog, we have the perfect little pup for you. Noel just loves being treated like a normal dog and being part of the pack. We could all learn life lessons from her. Her paralyzed back legs haven’t altered her happy spirit one bit. She’s an adorable, independent and feisty little girl that’s figured out how to do things herself without help. She can do anything a 4 legged dog can do. Noel plays with her foster dog siblings, runs (well, scoots fast), and likes going places and riding in her doggie stroller. She’s quite the popular girl when she goes out - she makes friends easily and everyone that meets her loves her. Noel’s not a cuddler and is not fond of being picked up – laying in a dog bed by the couch or by the bed is more her style. That’s just how she rolls. And speaking of rolling, she has a cart to help her get around and is getting stronger and better every day at using it. Those wheels give her the fast path to your heart. Due to not having control of her bladder, Noel will need a family that will change her diaper and express her bladder a couple times a day. Don't worry...it's super easy to learn how and she doesn't mind at all. This sweet little girl is best being able to roam free in the house - being confined is not her thing. She’s been good in her foster home with this open environment, hanging with the other dogs. As is common with lots of dogs, thunderstorms and fireworks are scary to Noel. A quiet all adult home (or one with teens and adults) would be her preference. Also, a one story home without a pool is a must for her so she can maneuver around safely. If you are a big hearted person who is feeling excited just thinking about bringing a dog like Noel into your home, we’d love to hear more about you and have you fill out an adoption application. Noel is heartworm negative, spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready for her forever home. Her adoption donation is $200. show less

He’s as sweet as his namesake, the ice cream treat, and the best part is that you don’t have to wait for the ice cream man to come around….Nutty Buddy will come to your house! This little gent is a polite and mild mannered pup who is happy and just wants to be around his person. A perfect day for Nutty Buddy includes sitting next to you on the couch, following you around the house as you go about your day, going out for a car ride and then coming home to nap and snuggle. He’s a big fan of sleeping in the people bed, he loves treats and will even “catch” them, and he gets along great with other dogs, especially female dogs. Nutty Buddy would like to live with someone who is home more often than not. He has a happy bark when it’s dinner time, otherwise he’s not much of a barker. He’s good with house manners when he’s on a regular schedule - if he’s let out frequently he does well and if you leave for long periods of time, he’ll use a pad. Riley in a nutshell: 7-yr-old, 15 lb, blind Pomeranian-Chihuahua blend girl is laid back, quiet, and independent. Needs a house where she is the only dog. No small children or house with pool. Riley is not one of those sappy lap dogs, barking, kicking up a fuss, and losing all dignity. This little lady is calm, cool, and collected. She is a little shy at first, but loves people and happily wags her tail and perks her ears up when meeting someone new or when visitors come to your home. Riley is very quiet and rarely barks so she’d do well in an apartment or condo. Since she is blind, she is a bit cautious, so she’d do best in a home with no children or older children. And though she’s independent, she insists on being your one and only. Riley will be happiest in a home where she’s the only pet so you can’t share your love with anyone but her. She is pee-pad trained and loves to go on walks and car rides. Actually, she’s crazy about car rides and when you ask, “Riley, want to take a trip in the car?” her ears perk up and she’s ready to ride. She loves to go on walks and is a sweet companion. She has gorgeous honey-colored wavy hair and loves to have her hair brushed. Since she is blind, she can only go to a one-story home with no pool. Her hobbies include playing with toys on her back, snuggling, zipping under her foster brothers’ legs, and walks to the local coffee shop to indulge in a Puppuccino. Squeaky would do well in a home with someone around to love her as much as she loves back. She is a fantastic listener and is learning how to sit and give a paw. Squeaky is on the lookout for a home with a fenced yard with someone home most of the time. This sweet girl would be better suited for a family with older kids as she thinks she’s a 9 lb. chihuahua and we don’t have the heart to tell her otherwise. Also, no excessive jumping for this girl. If you can see yourself stylin’ around with this gorgeous girl and showing her off to the world, we’d love to hear from you and have you fill out an adoption application. Squeaky is heartworm negative, vaccinated, microchipped, spayed and ready for her forever home. Included in her adoption fee is an orthopedic re-check in late April. Her adoption donation is $300.       show less

Tilly is a 10-year-old, 62-pound Blue Tick Coon Hound girl. Our silly Tilly is such a sweetheart! Tilly originally came to us as part of a hoarding case, where she was locked away in a crate for most of her life. Now we are happy to say that Tilly has traded her crate for a cozy spot on the couch. She is loving her new life lounging on the coziest dog beds! Tilly is a happy-go-lucky girl. She enjoys going for leisurely walks, or roaming around the backyard, exploring wherever her hound dog nose takes her. Tilly recently discovered the joy of playing with dog toys. She now cannot get enough of little squeaky toys and it is so cute to see her getting all excited. The way to Tilly’s heart definitely includes food. She recently had a dental cleaning, where we had to extract several of her teeth, but that has not diminished her appetite. Tilly can still eat kibble and you will never hear her say no to any treat you offer her. Bananas are her favorite snack in the world. Tilly gets along very well with other dogs big or small, as long as they respect her space. She is never aggressive, but may get vocal if they come up to her too quickly. Sweet Tilly is mostly housetrained, however she does tend to have to go to the bathroom quickly after eating, so you will just have to make sure mealtime is quickly followed by a pottybreak. Tilly is a mellow, loving lady who is looking for a cozy place to enjoy her golden days. Tilly has completed heartworm treatment, is spayed, up to date on her vaccines, and recently had her teeth polished. Her adoption donation is $250.   show less

Tyson is a 11-year-old, 6-pound Chihuahua boy. Quirky little Tyson had a rough past, but has settled into his PPR foster home quite well. He was a terrified, nervous Chihuahua when he came into PPR’s care, but now he’s become a well adjusted, silly, loving little guy, full of personality and “spice” as his foster dad likes to say. Tyson is good with other dogs and cats, but he’d be perfectly content being your one and only, too. He has bonded very closely to his foster dad and has quickly become his loyal companion. He has a cute waddle when he walks and when he wags his tail, his entire chubby rear end wags with it. Tyson is completely house broken and doesn’t get into things around the house. He loves to dig into his blankets and beds and burrow under covers. Tyson also loves being pet, massaged and scratched up and down his back and neck. If Tyson feels threaten by other dogs or scary people, he can react defensively, so he would be best suited for a  dog savvy adopter that can further build his confidence. Tyson loves sweet talk, affection and attention and if you’re sitting down and ignoring him, Tyson will see to it that you pick him up by “talking” and making all kinds of funny noises. Tyson would be best suited for a kid-free home. Tyson rides like a perfect gentleman in the car and loves to explore his backyard with his foster siblings, looking for lizards and feeling the sunshine. He’s a good eater and he’s very food motivated so if you’re cooking, don’t you worry, Tyson will be right by your side to make sure the kitchen floor stays clean if you drop anything. Tyson has some skin allergies and takes a daily pill to keep his skin and coat in good shape. Tyson is housetrained, heartworm negative, neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and just had his teeth polished. His adoption donation is $200.  show less

The doggy data on Walter: 10 years old. 6 pounds. Friendly Poodle boy who is blind. Total lap dog. Loves to be held. Likes other dogs. Must go to a one level home with no pool. Meet Walter. He may not see your face, but he can read your heart. This handsome little guy is the sweetest dog ever. Being blind does not slow down Walter one bit. He gets around just fine and is so trusting. He melts in your arms and likes nothing more than being held. He’s friendly with everyone and loves, loves, loves attention. He loves to be outdoors and to ride in a car or a golf cart too. Walter is good with cats and small dogs. Walter would remind you that vision is not the primary sense in dogs. If he can smell, taste and feel you petting him, he’s a happy boy. Walter is so easy to love you'll want to spoil him. He is house-trained and barks to let you know he needs to go out. He can be your only pooch or live with another dog. Blind dogs benefit a lot from living with other dogs that can see - they use their partner as a guide to find their way around and strong bonds develop between them.  A one level home with no pool would be best suited for Walter so he can maneuver around safely. If you think this little stud muffin would look good next to you in your upcoming selfies, what are you waiting for? You gotta home, we gotta dog. Fill out an adoption application and let’s see if there’s a match. Walter is vaccinated, heartworm negative, neutered, microchipped, and is ready for his forever home. He should be adopted locally since he needs a vet recheck on his eyes in 6-12 months, which is included with his adoption donation of $225. show less
