Our best guess based on her looks is maybe Italian greyhound/manchester terrier mix. This young girl had a very rough start in life and developed some personality quirks that we are working on. Bea was found as a stray at 13 weeks old and was very nearly hairless due to a severe case of mange. The lady that picked her up thought she was a lost cause and wanted to put her down. Thank goodness our friends at Southside Animal Hospital don't roll that way. Because Bea was so young and sick she had to be kept in a crate in the cat room for a few weeks until a foster could be found. Not being able to burn off that puppy energy caused some behavior problems. Bea is now a special project for her foster mom. Since coming to know love and having a place to run and play, Bea has flourished. We are still working on her resource guarding issues but she has learned how to share her toys and eat in the same room as her foster siblings. Bea needs a home with an experienced dog owner with no small children and either no dogs or one that will play with her but respect her space around the food bowl and her crate. Bea will make a great running partner as well as a great couch snuggle bunny. She loves her crate but will need to be exercised regularly to help her stay focused. Building her confidence in a training class would be perfect for her. Bonus is that she is fully house trained. If you think Bea could be the one for you, please visit rmgdogs.org/adopt for information regarding our adoption process and access to our applications. The tax deductible adoption donation for Bea is $300, and includes basic vaccines, microchip, and spay/neuter.
