Name: Ellie Suspected Breed(s): DSH Gender: Female Age: 1 y/o Weight: 6lbs Personality: Affectionate, Friendly, Adventurous, Curious, Playful, Energetic, Vocal Observations with Dogs: Unknown Observations with Cats: Best as only cat Observations with Kids: Gentle with kids House Training Progress: Good litterbox manners Location: DC area foster home Rescued From: Roane County, WV Additional Information: Ellie is a super affectionate, energetic, and playful cat who cannot wait to find her forever home! She is a very sweet tabby with big, beautiful green eyes. She is a very low maintenance but social girl who would make a great new addition to your home. Ellie settled in very quickly once she arrived in her foster home and was so anxious to explore that she started scratching at the door and meowing to be let out of her room by the end of her first day. Needless to say, she was very eager to explore the rest of her new foster home! Ellie loves to follow her foster mom around the house and chirp and chirp and let out the occasional cute meow, asking for pets or wet food, or both. Sometimes she walks across her foster mom's laptop to show off her pretty stripes to foster mom's colleagues. She loves to be picked up and stretch out her paws from her foster mom's shoulder to make air biscuits while purring softly. Ellie shares her foster home with three resident cats and loves to be in charge. She has a dominant personality with other cats and is vocal when she wants space, so she would do best as an only cat where she can be the leading lady. While she clearly likes to be around her foster mom, Ellie is not a needy cat and is very well behaved! She sleeps quietly through the night in the cat cave in her foster mom's bedroom. Ellie loves toys, especially any kind of ball, fuzzy mice, catnip kicker toys, and especially the laser pointer! She even brings her toys into her foster mom's bedroom at night. Despite Ellie's love of toys, she is not one to destroy your stuff. She conveniently does not like to chew on important papers or cardboard boxes, or knock things off tables, like her foster sisters do. She loves belly rubs and playing with toys. If you are looking for a social, playful cat who is low maintenance and a super well behaved gal, please consider adopting Ellie! ________________________________ If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. If the animal has "HAS APPLICATION" listed, they are still available to receive additional applications but also may be in the process of being adopted soon. Apply for a CAT: www.citydogsrescuedc.org/adopt-a-city-kitty.html City Dogs Rescue & City Kitties is a foster based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. We focus on local adoptions in DC and the metro area of Maryland and Virginia. CDR&CK has a thorough adoption process in order to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first served model). Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter (unless specified). We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam prior to adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDR&CK. City Dogs Rescue & City Kitties is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Cat specific: Rabies, FVRCP, Feline Leukemia vaccines. They are tested for FIV and FeLV, when age appropriate, but not when born to a negative mother in foster care. Most cats and dogs will have a house training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained. We also update our Facebook page daily with new cats and dogs.
