Boo was originally found as a stray.  He was adopted from a shelter and returned for nipping "after being disciplined".  We assume this means after being swatted/hit.  He is shy and distrustful at first, but comes around easily once he knows that he can trust you.  Because he does have nipping in his history we do not recommend him for small children. Kibo was originally posted on facebook as being seen just north of Lenapah.  Judy and I searched for 2 hours and couldn't find him.  Turns out he was north of Delaware.  He was found by the Sheriff who contacted Nowata Animal Control.  He was then taken to the vet in Coffeyville, KS.  He was a possibility for euthansia, but since he is so sweet they posted him online looking for a rescue.  May not be good with kids just because he tends to grab at food.  Not aggressive but will most likely always be grabbing food he can get to easily. Rilee is a tiny frail looking 11 lb poodle.  He is not a born leader, but if there is not a pack leader person (or dog) he will try to take over.  Since he is definitely not a born leader this creates an unstable little poodle.  He has biten the friend that took him in after his owner passed away.  Here at  ARF with all the different volunteers and dogs Rilee is doing great and is very sweet and lovable.  Because he does have a bite history he cannot be adopted to a family with young kids under 12.  He needs an owner with dog experience that will not let him try to be top dog.  We can discuss this with an applicant to see if he would be a fit for your household. Snoopy (and he's brothers Yogi and Felix) came from a hoarding situation.  Their owner passed away and they were left in the home for 4 years with no contact with the outside world except a neighbor that was feeding them.  They have been at ARF a few months and will now take treats from anyone. It is possible to pick him up, but he is frozen with fear. He has not been nippy at all. He gets along great with all other dogs. He needs a quiet home with no rambunctious young children and He will need someone willing to spend the time to gain he's trust. Some of our dogs are adopted very quickly.  If you are truly interested in a dog fill out an application ASAP.  If you take the time to email a question someone will already be ahead of you with a completed application.  You can find all the information we have about a particular cat/dog at the link below as well.  Then click the adopt button to fill out an application.   Fill out an application at the link below.  Find the dog/cat you are interested in and click the adopt button.  That will take you to an application.  Once approved you will be called for an appointment to meet your possible new family member, or at that time you can meet the other animals as well.  https://petstablished.com/public/search/shelter/301551 Adoption fee is $150 which includes, spay/neuter, vaccines, etc, and a free 1 year membership to our 5 acre ARF Park.  For other dog questions please email ARFdogs74006@gmail.com We do adopt out of state, but the adopter must travel to ARF to meet the dog they are looking to adopt.  They must have an approved application before traveling to meet the dog.  We do allow small dogs that are eligible to fly in the cabin of a plane.  We DO NOT allow dogs to travel in the cargo area of the plane under any circumstances.  Any dog that is adopted can of course go by personal vehicle.  We do not allow dogs to be transported "pony express style" where they are passed from driver to driver.   show less
