Boomer is an adorable two year old Fox Terrier mix that was surrendered due to his owners moving away. This guy only weighs about 35 pounds, is dog friendly, and very easy to train. We already taught him how to sit, lay down, jump, spin, stay, shake and roll over! He likes to chase tennis balls and does well on a leash.  He is very shy with new people and will run when comfronted with someone he doesn't know.  He does have a bite history.  Well over a year ago he bit a couple of different volunteers that grabbed his collar to stop him from leaving his kennel.  There is something about a grab at the neck that triggers a bite response.  We all know that now and have had no other problems with him.  He does need an experienced owner because of his history.  He loves other dogs as long as they aren't too pushy.  If they are dominate or pushy it scares Boomer and seems to trigger the other dog to attack him.  Poor Boomer has been attacked by other dogs here at ARF 3 times.  Once by a tiny dog.  Boomer has NEVER fought back with another dog.   Boomer has been here at ARF for 2 years and he is only 3 years old.  He knows the routine and enjoys going out with a large crowd of small dogs in the play yard.  But, he has started circling in his kennel when left alone which is a sign of stress like you would see in a zoo animal.  He is kennel trained and will readily go into his kennel when asked.  He walks good on a leash and is very friendly with people he trusts.  He is terrified of vets and storms.  He does have anxiety meds he takes before getting a shot.
