Meet Phoenix: Phoenix is a 1-year 4-month old (as of October 2023) hound mix (best guess). Phoenix and her brother (Presley) were found as strays and brought to a high kill shelter - they did not have much time left and we are thankful we were able to get them into our rescue in time. Meet Pixie: Pixie is about a 1 year old (as of December 2023) beagle mix (best guess) that weighs about 22 pounds. Pixie was found abandoned in a crate on the roadside. She was left alone in the elements with no food or water. Hello from Quince!  Quince was born around Christmas 2021 and soon found himself being given away in a Mississippi Wal-Mart parking lot, along with his 3 siblings.  Quince has been in rescue since early 2022 and we are all eager for him to find his forever family soon!  Quince will thrive with an owner or family that will continue his training.  He has done a lot of hard work and we want him to maintain all the skills he has learned! Quince is a lean and lanky 45 lbs, and we assume he is some type of shepherd mix.  He is a handsome boy with a beautiful black coat.  Although he is a very energenic boy, a home that is more laid back, with predictible routines would suit him best.  He would do best in a home with older children or adults only that can give him lots of exercise, mental stimulation, and clear boundaries.  Quince gets along wtih other dogs when introduced properly and has learned to share toys.  He does have some resource guarding with food, which can be comfortably managed by separate feeding areas, and supervision.   Quince is in a boarding facility and enjoys regular maintenance visits from a trainer.  Quince will require a home with a fenced yard so that he can romp around freely off leash.  Quince needs an experienced dog person who will be his leader of the pack.  He is potty trained, crate trained, and knows basic commands like sit, stay, and down. Rain is people and dog friendly. He can be reactive on a leash due to excitement when she sees other dogs. Meet Ricky: Ricky is around 5 months old (as of mid October 2023) and is a cattle dog and pit mix (our best guess). Ricky and his 4 siblings were born in Mississippi and were around 2 months old when sadly their mom was hit by a car and did not make it. A family was able to save the puppies (Ricky and siblings Trooper, Tiny, Radar, and Luna) and reached out to Charlie's Crusaders to find them all loving homes. Meet Ruby:  Ruby is a beautiful four year old chocolate lab that weighs around 80 pounds. Ruby was rescued when she was being advertised on Neighborhood Watch as "free to a good home". Her owners said she was too active for them. Ruby is wonderful with other dogs, loves people and would make a great companion to any family. Ruby loves to play in the backyard and will need a fenced in yard. Meet Saul: Saul is about a year old (as of May 2023) chihuahua or rat terrier mix (best guess) that weighs about 14 pounds. Saul was found in East Memphis by a former vet tech and current owner of a dog boarding facility. Saul’s owner didn't respond to any of the lost dog postings and he was surrendered to us for rehoming. Saul is very affectionate and a playful bundle of energy. He's a loyal lap baby and a constant bed buddy. In his first day at his foster home he was a bit grumpy with so many other dogs around. Mama Cookie was a family pet until the family grew with a human baby and then she found herself as an outside dog. While living outside, Mama got pregnant and had a litter of 10 sweet babies that she carried off to a safe place to try to care for them.  When our rescue heard of the situation, we went to try to help and were only able to find 4 of her sweet pups. We are committed to this little family and want these survivors to find the best homes! Meet Shelby! Shelby is a 2 year old (born around Oct 2021) Pit Bull Terrier mix that weighs around 50 pounds. Shelby was found in Grenada, Mississippi on the side of the road locked in a crate with an empty bowl and thankfully a volunteer with Charlie’s Crusaders was able to rescue her. Shelby is now being fostered near the Pottstown, PA area and is waiting for her forever home! Shelby loves her two furry brothers at her foster home and loves to play and run around with them. Meet Skipper: Skipper is a 2 year old lab mix that weighs 65 pounds - he’s still growing. Skipper was at a local pound when he found himself on the euthanasia list. We are so glad that we were able to get him in time! Skipper is a high energy, super friendly guy that loves to play. Skipper likes dogs and would love a playmate in his new home to romp around with. He can play rough right now, so we wouldn’t recommend he be in a home with young children or small dogs, however he is submissive and not jumpy. Meet Sugar: Sugar is a 3 year old pit bull terrier mix that weighs 55 pounds. Sugar was at a local pound in Mississippi and found herself on the euthanasia list. We’re so glad we were able to get her into a foster home in time! Sugar is a sweetheart and loves to be near people! Sugar will be right up under you for attention if you are around. Sugar is very friendly with other dogs. She loves the company of her current foster dog brother and has been cautious of other dogs that have been introduced.  After a few minutes she warms up to play with them. Sugar is cat friendly, but we would suggest supervised cat exposure - she loves to chase them to play and we know not all cats would be happy about that. Sugar is house and crate trained. Sunshine was being kept in a small kennel behind a barn with no human or animal interactions. Sunshine escaped out of her kennel one day and headed to a nearby home. Meet Thor: Thor is a 2 year old Great Dane/Husky mix that weighs 90 pounds. Thor was found running around Giles County, TN as a stray. Meet Tilly: Tilly is a sweet Hound/Pit mix that is around 2 years old and weighs around 45 lbs. This little momma was rescued from a shelter in Mississippi with her five babies days before they were to be euthanized. Tilly has been an awesome momma and helped make sure her pups stayed healthy and socialized. Tilly is currently being fostered in the Lancaster, PA area and is ready for her forever home! Tilly is an incredibly sweet dog and is very social and affectionate. Tilly thinks she's a lap dog and would love to snuggle with you. She spends time lounging on the couch and sitting close by her people. Tilly enjoys playing with other dogs her size or bigger outside in the yard. Tilly is not good with cats or small animals. She is not a barker, but she does have a funny habit of standing on outdoor patio furniture tables. She’s never done it inside, but she seems to enjoy the elevation. Meet Venetian: Venetian is a 1.5 year old (as of September 2023) lab/terrier mix that weighs about 35 pounds. Venetian was found in Byhalia, MS. A business owner had many dogs outside on his property to protect his trucks, but unfortunately they were not fixed and he ended up with many unwanted puppies. The parents of the pups are to be fixed while we try to find these little ones good homes. When we first got the pups, they were unsocialized. Venetian came a long way and was adopted, but the new owners were not the right fit, so she is back with us to find the perfect match. She used to duck her head and pull away when you reached out to pet her. Now she likes to be pet and will nudge up against you to initiate more. To see her now, you wouldn't suspect she'd come from the environment where she spent the first 4 months of her life. Venetian would love a home to feel safe and warm in and continue to get the love from a family that she now realizes is great!  Venetian will need a home with a fenced in yard.
