Meet Fester: Fester is around 8 weeks old (as of February 3, 2023) and guessed to be a shepherd/retriever mix. Fester and his litter mates (Gomez, Pugsley, Lurch, Morticia and Wednesday) were thrown outside in the cold by their owner when they didn’t want to care for the puppies any more! We are so thankful that an animal lover overheard the conversation and went to find these sweet babies! This lovable litter is a group of your typical sweet, friendly, active, curious pups. They love to carry their toys around and play with each other. They are all complete fluff/fuzz balls with a thick undercoat of fur. Fester loves his people and being around them - he will follow you anywhere! He also loves to play outside with his brother. Fester knows his name and will respond when it is called. As a puppy, Fester will need some patience while he works on his house training. They all seem to be smart puppies and are picking up on training quickly. We would love for Fester to have a home with a fenced in yard for him to run and play! Fester is up to date on his shots and will be neutered when age appropriate. If you are interested in adopting this “kooky” pup (and humming the Addams Family theme song), please go to Charlie’s Crusaders website (www.charliescrusaders.org) to fill out an application. show less

Meet Kipper:  Kipper is a very sweet-month old male shepherd/husky/pit bull mix who weighs 60 lbs.  He is being fostered in PA.    The monster that had him previously clipped his ears and tail off with a scissors to make him appear intimidating. He was and is still fearful of many things but he has made amazing progress with the help of my mentor dogs. He has learned how to use the dog door, been bathed, had his nails clipped, been introduced to the lawnmower, weed eater, and vacuum cleaner.    He has never had an accident in the house and I only crate him when I leave the house or when I am preparing their food.  He is working on his manners around food - he has trouble staying in his own lane!  He sleeps uncrated at night wherever he pleases.     He loves to play with other dogs and walks very nicely on a leash.  He gets so excited when he sees other dogs while leashed that he jumps and barks, so an experienced handler is needed.      Despite his traumatic puppy-hood, Kipper loves everyone he meets!  Except cats - those are scary and he doesn't want anything to do with them!  Kipper will thrive in a home with another dog-friend and a fenced-in yard to romp and play!  Kipper has a lot of energy so a home with older kids would be best.    He cannot wait to get to his forever home!  He is available for adoption through Charlie’s Crusaders.  Kipper is up to date on all his shots and neutered. If you are interested in adopting the sweet boy please go to our website at charliescrusaders.org and fill out our adoption application. Meet Leah: Leah is about 2 years old (as of October 2022) pit bull terrier mix that weighs 52 pounds. Leah was found as a stray in front of Walmart in Amory, MS. She was attempting to go into the store. Leah is a super sweet girl that will bring you amazing adventures, endless wet sloppy kisses, and “oh so excited to see you” booty shakes every single day! Leah is extremely dog friendly, and loves playing with any and all dogs. When she sees small puppies, her eyes light up and her gentle side comes shining through. She is nonreactive to cats. Leah does well with children, and loves to run and play with them. She does need supervision around very small children, because she doesn’t realize her size and strength and could knock them down playing. Leah loves to cuddle and snuggle in her foster mom’s big comfy bed, and will play hide and seek under the covers until she wears herself out. Once she’s down for the count, she snores the night away. There is never a dull moment with this precious girl. Leah is house trained. She does well on a leash and is crate trained. Leah will need a home with a fenced in yard. Leah is up to date on her shots and she is already spayed.  Leah is Heartworm positive and undergoing treatment. Leah would make a great addition to any family! If you are interested in adopting this sweet girl, please go to Charlie’s Crusaders website (www.charliescrusaders.org) to fill out an application. show less
