🔴 PLEASE NOTE YOU MUST HAVE A FENCED IN YARD TO ADOPT BANJO🔴  Meet Banjo: Banjo is a 4 year old Plott Hound mix weighing about 75 pounds. He is a beautiful boy with his brindle coat and white chest and markings with the most expressive face. Banjo loves to be active and is a high energy dog. He enjoys walks, hikes, car rides, and playing. Most of all, Banjo enjoys cuddling with his people on the couch. He’ll be your shadow- all he wants is to be with his people as much as possible. Banjo struggles with confidence and anxiety issues, but has been working on these things with a trainer and will do wonderfully in the right home while continuing his hard work and an adopter that is knowledgeable with anxious dogs. Banjo is also very food motivated! Banjo is well versed in obedience training and knows sit, down, stay, bed, speak, and roll over. He is also muzzle trained, crate trained, and walks well on a leash. Banjo would be best in a home with a single person or couple. Banjo gets along with other dogs, enjoys playing with them, and could do well in a home with multiple dogs but needs the proper introduction. Banjo would prefer a home with kids 14 or older. If you are interested in adopting Banjo please go to our website at charliescrusaders.org and fill out our adoption application.  show less

🔴 PLEASE NOTE MUST OWN YOUR OWN HOME AND HAVE A FENCED IN YARD🔴 Meet Betty.  Betty is a six-year-old  American Pit Bull Terrier. Betty is the sister and litter mate of Billy who is also featured at Charlie’s Crusaders Pet Rescue.  Betty has been home-raised all her life.  She did go to a new home for nine months but was reclaimed by the original owner and breeder because the new owner failed to provide shelter for her.  Other terms of the puppy contract were also ignored forcing the original owner to take possession of her.  Recently Betty’s owner was diagnosed with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension making it impossible to care for four dogs.  Betty is a spayed female, current on all her shots including rabies.  Vet records are available.  Betty loves kids and other dogs but is probably too much dog for small children.  She will be a great companion for children eight years and up.  Betty is housebroken.  She loves to go for walks and loves to play with her brother Billy.  She is very friendly and loves attention from visitors and strangers.  She settles down quickly after an initial introduction.  She loves human touch and really loves to cuddle in bed or on the sofa.  She and Billy will be wonderful additions to any family.  Betty and Billy are crate familiar but have rarely been crated.betty and billy are a bonded pair and would like to stay together. 🔴 PLEASE NOTE: YOU MUST OWN YOUR OWN HOME AND HAVE A FENCED IN YARD🔴   Meet Big Daddy! Big Daddy is estimated to be around 4 years old with similarities to a Black Mouth Cur/Anatolian Shepherd mix. He currently weighs 51lbs. Big Daddy was kept on a leash for the start of his life tied to a tree in TN. Big Daddy's foster mom describes him as so sweet with the cutest face. He loves attention from his foster family, and just needs some time to warm up to new people. He would be great in a home where he can get a lot of love and activity as he loves his walks and time playing in the fenced in yard with his 60lb pittie foster sister. He is good with the 4 and 6 year old kids that visit his foster home. He was not shown kindness during the years he spent on a chain, so he's hesitant with new people and will lower his head and cower temporarily until he knows you have good intentions towards him.  When he met his foster moms extended family, he needed a few minutes to get comfortable and come to them on his own terms, but he ended up snuggling on the couch with them by the end of their visit. Big Daddy walks well on a leash and is crate trained. He is housetrained and sleeps through the night without having to go outside, he only has accidents if he is left out of the crate when his foster isn't home. He is up to date on all his shots, and neutered. Big daddy gets along with other dogs and people. Meet Charley! FKA as T Graham he was adopted as a puppy and being returned due to no fault of his own. His current Adopter says this about him:   Charley is a 1 year old lab/ mix! Sweet and affectionate  dog, but like any puppy has tons of energy.  He is stand-offish at first with new people - growling and barking - but warms up quickly and will be very affectionate. This quality makes him a good guard dog as he will bark when people are approaching the house or knock on the door. Also typical of a puppy, Charley likes to chew.  He can only be given toys for "aggressive chewers" like Kongs and other tough brands but be careful as once he gets them apart he will chew and swallow the small pieces and later throw them up.  Absolutely no plush toys or shoes or hats or jackets or clothing or firewood or small rugs as he will chew it all up along with toilet paper or any kind of paper or tissues. No problems with pillows or furniture or plants. Charley would benefit from having another younger or high energy dog to play and wrestle with.  Also plenty of walks and running around.  He is a great fetcher and will play for a long time.  He gets along great with dogs in dog parks and has never been aggressive towards any of them. Also he should probably not be with younger kids in the house as he is already 75 lbs and will easily knock over a smaller person when he runs around inside or tries to beat you through a door or down the stairs. At night he sleeps in a bedroom with one of the kids or adults. Just make sure all "chewables" are out of reach. He likes to start off on your bed or on his own dog bed but will typically change places throughout the night. He is very good in his crate and will go in when asked or with a treat, no problem. He is very well house trained and will stand by the back door and or come get your attention when he needs to outside. He is up to date on all shots and has his rabies shot, but no tag.  It did not come with him but is on his records.  He was also chipped when he was neutered so the new owner can register in their name.
