Meet Dior! Dior is a pit lab mix, she’s almost 2 years old. She is a rescue bait dog that was put in a shelter due to be euthanized. She is so ready to find a forever home! She is so energetic and loves being outside! She has been through a lot, she needs someone who is patient and gentle, give her confidence and consistency. She loves cuddling on the couch. She absolutely adores car rides and hikes. she plays well with multiple toys and loves the color orange. She loves getting little training treats and is grasping commands such as (sit, wait/hold, lay down, and gentle). Dior would thrive in a home with NO other pets! Her current foster has smaller animals such as gerbils and reptiles, she has no issue with them in her space. But cats get her too overstimulated. If introduced properly and given the time she could live with one other dog her size, but that dog would also have to be submissive. Dior is potty trained as well as crate trained. She is a resource guard, but responds well to “WE’ER DONE” (with her attitude)! She is so sweet, she loves belly rubs. She loves kids. Loves walking in creeks, but does not like the hose. This princess can not wait find her family!   Can you be my hero? Apply today to adopt this sweet girl at charliescrusaders.org  PLEASE Note must own your home, have a fenced yard and have pit experience. show less

Meet Flo! Flo is a beautiful, funny, full of personality puppy. Estimated to be around 12 weeks old and a Jack Russel/lab mix  Flo is a beautifully intelligent beauty. She had never experienced kind human touch prior to being rescued. I have never seen such a will to live as I have seen with this puppy. She is a true survivor. I have watched her go from being fearful and cowering in her kennel to loving to play and snuggle. She shows so much love now, and constantly inspires her foster family to keep moving forward no matter the obstacles. She is very smart, playful, loves the sunlight on her skin, and loves other dogs (she esp finds comfort in her brother). She was rescued alongside her brother in the intercity of Memphis. They were thought to be around 6 wks old at the time of rescue. We honestly didn’t know if they would survive the first 48 hrs after rescue. They had sarcoptic mange, coccidia, extremely malnourished, and so so many parasites. We are so thankful she was found when she was, bc Flo wouldn’t have survived another night on the streets. But her story is one of hope. She is now healthy and she absolutely loves life! We are so thankful that his is just beginning. She is kennel trained, and does need to be fed separately from other dogs, as she is a slow and selfless eater. She does well with people, dogs, and cats. She is shy, but warms up quickly. It is recommended that she have a home with another friendly dog so that she feels more secure. Meet Gracie:  Hi! My name is Gracie, but my foster moms call me  Lil’ Mama or Mama. When I got to their house late on the 4th of July, I had six of my puppies with me. I was very sick and didn’t really understand how to be a mama dog. Some of my puppies went to the Rainbow Bridge and the others went to live with an angel lady who took great care of them. I was very sad at first, but once I got know know my foster doggie sisters, my heart started to heal. I am finally learning what it’s like to be a real pet! I love to be close and snuggle with my people. I like to run and play with the other dogs in the backyard. I am quite submissive and great with the other dogs. I would love to have a new sister or brother to play with!  My foster mom says I am the sweetest girl. I don’t have food aggression or any other type of aggression. I love people and dogs. I’m not sure I’ve ever been around a cat. I will let you hold my paws, clip my toenails, check my teeth and ears, and most importantly, I will let you rub my belly!  I happily get into my kennel when it’s time for my foster mom to go to work, especially if she gives me a treat! When I get sleepy, I usually go in there all by myself. I love treats, toys, and bones to chew! Do you like tug-of-war? I sure do! I also have the best time going outside to run and play and chase tennis balls with my friends! Gracie is a Pit mix that is around 18 months and weighs around 50 lbs and fully vetted. If you want to add a sweet and amazing dog to your family, look no further - I am your girl! I will love you with all of my heart and soul! show less

Meet Khloe! Kloe is around 2 years old and a shepherd mix! Kloe current foster says this about her:  Despite Khloe being found in a hole with her puppies, and them now being adopted she has excelled at learning to be loved and to love again. She has learned to play with other dogs her size and has a submissive personality. She has shown zero signs of aggression but does show fear of leashes. We are keeping it on her periodically to show there is nothing scary about it. She loves people and nudges your arm to pet her. She has excelled with potty training again and is going outside with pretty minimal accidents in the home. She doesn't mind her crate at all either. She has been around kids and does great. She does seem to show fear of loud noises and very sudden movements- but again no signs of aggression. It just makes her unsure of what is going on. A confident but not over dominant dog would help her become a dog again. She watches and learns from my dogs. And has been emulating their actions. She is very playful one on one. She has come so far but still needs someone to be patient. With her as she is still learning to trust and still learning to show love. You can see it in her that she is ready to love, play, and become a family member. She trusts people now which is night and day from when I got her. She has healed up nicely from getting spayed and took her medication with no treats. Plopped it in her food and she ate every bit. Khloe is ready to find a home with patience, a dog would be lovely for her, and even a kiddo to show her the ropes at living life. Please apply today at Charliescrusaders.org PLEASE NOTE: You must your own home, have a 6 foot fence and have breed experience.  show less

Meet Peanut! Peanut was born around July 22nd, 2020 and is an adorable pit mix. Peanut and his littermates and mom were rescued in the south by Charlie’s Crusaders Pet Rescue and now all are up in the north where they are all safe. Like some of his littermates, Peanut was born with some eye sight issues and will need the perfect home to call his own. Peanut loves to give kisses but isn’t much for cuddling. He is a very active puppy and never sits still. Because of his vision issues, Peanut has a habit of “air snapping.” Peanut loves all toys and loves to play. Peanut is doing well with his house training, crate training and learning to walk on a leash. Peanut is good with other dogs but has not been tested with cats. Peanut does better in quiet situations where there isn’t much commotion. Because of his vision problems, Peanut will need a home with a fenced in yard, a home where the furniture will not be frequently moved, older children, and another dog. Peanut needs a brother or sister to teach him how to be a dog and help him navigate his surroundings. Peanut is up to date on his shots and will be neutered when old enough. If you are interested in adopting or fostering Peanut and have a fenced in yard, another dog, and older children, please apply at charliescrusaders.org! show less
