Meet Rubin! This six-month-old, very unique dog with beautiful markings was found as a stray in the desert. He was diagnosed with parvo and was covered with ticks. He was not neutered or chipped - it was clear this little guy had been discarded. When no one came to claim him, he joined our rescue.  This guy is a ball of fun. He absolutely loves to play with other dogs, and obviously is very adorable. This happy go lucky guy would make a perfect companion for a family looking for a playmate and an activity partner. Our guess is he’ll be in a 40 pound range at maturity. show less

“Jolly” Wally was purchased as a gift and then was too puppy playful for the new owner, so he was returned to the buyer who put him in a cement backyard alone.  Most of his puppy months were spent alone in that yard with limited human interaction, no stimulation and no coverage from the weather and rain.  He (understandably) escaped from the yard many times on a busy street.  It’s amazing he never got hit by a car because his owner didn’t seem to care that he was missing.  The buyer wanted to be rid of him but made minimal efforts to find him a home and so he was bound for the pound.   His foster picked him up and he immediately bonded with her and her kids.  He was named “Jolly” Wally after just a day because his personality changed so much after having the attention he deserved and feeling loved.  Literally within 24 hours!   He is now a happy and loved baby boy after being neglected for so long.  He loves his walks and going to doggy daycare.  He needed exposure to other dogs because he just didn’t know how to be a puppy…but he has adjusted and loves playing with other active dogs.  He was a tad guarded at first and can still be a tad shy, but now he just loves new people and dogs.   Once he knows and trusts you, he is yours forever.     He is doing amazing with crate training (prefers to sleep in his crate) and potty training, and he really just wants to win over every human and dog he comes in contact with.  He would do best with another playful and active dog he can wrestle and be active with since he is making up for a long time of not being allowed to be a real puppy.  The only kitties he has been exposed to hissed at him with hair and backs raised, so we’re not yet sure if he is kitty friendly.     This handsome guy is neutered, chipped and has had two rounds of vaccinations.  He is ready to find his forever home and live such a great life that the memory of his past is long forgotten.  show less

Meet Jubilee! She burst out of the shelter after four long months basically perfect. This sweet dog is truly a ray of sunshine. 🌞 She loves all dogs, loves to play (but may be a bit rowdy for small dogs), slept through the night in her crate, no accidents, ate all her food, and had the best time on her first hike in a long time.  How could she have been passed by time and time again at the shelter? That blows us away. Not only is she a beautiful tricolor but she’s sweet and very kind as well. We think she’s about two years old and our guess is she’s mixed with some kind of bulldog because she has that playful, bouncy energy. She would do best in an active home with other fun dogs for her to play with. If you’re looking for what we like to refer to as a “plug and play” dog, look no further. Meet tiny Tina. This little treasure was living on the streets for several weeks. How she survived coyotes, cars, and other dogs we don’t know, but we’re happy she did. The sweet little treat wasn’t claimed by anyone and now she’s part of our family. Loving and sweet, she’s great with other dogs and will make a perfect pocket pal for a lucky family. Meet Romero. This tiny, five month old Chihuahua mix joined us. He is sweet, and playful and very smart. Almost housetrained I’m good with other dogs, this little man is looking for a forever home of his own. show less

Gidget, our mini #malinois is still waiting for her first application. At just 47 pounds and approximately two years old, this girl is extra sweet. She loves every person, big and small. She has a Blvd soft coat and loves being by your side or even sitting in your lap if you’ll let her. We think she would be fine with gentle children. She can be a little intimidated by other dogs, and for that reason, should probably be happiest being an only dog.  show less

Peter, the puppy is suffering from puppy strangles which is an auto immune disease. Unfortunately on top of that he also has two luxating patellas which will require surgery down the road when he is well enough. The shelter vet botched his care and gave him a pain medication, which cannot be combined with prednisone, the steroid he needs to treat his puppy strangles.  show less

Sweet Willow is still waiting for her first application. This boxer / shepherd mix is such a sweet girl. She was found on the highway, next to her deceased friend. She had a broken leg and a damaged eye. She had surgery to repair the leg, and sadly cannot see out of that eye, but she is doing just fine as she is. Willow is incredibly gentle and loves playing with other dogs. She would do best in a home with another confident, playful dog for her to learn from. House trained and good on walks, this lovely one year old girl is waiting for her human. show less

Meet Kaipo. His name means “the sweetheart” in Hawaiian and that’s just what he is. This tiny, senior gentleman was a victim of a horrible act. Someone decided to pour melted plastic on his head which burned through all the layers on his skull, exposing bone and damaging his eyesight (*but he can still see). We were able to get him transported from Mexico to United States and directly into surgery to have that hole closed and have a much-needed dental done. Unfortunately, due to the rough beginning he had, this little dude doesn’t have any teeth left but that doesn’t stop him at all. Nothing stops him.  He is loving his new life here in Los Angeles and his 2 foster siblings. His hair is growing back, he has pep in his step and he never lost his trust in humans- he craves attention, Kaipo loves all dogs but wants to be the center of attention, he loves all humans, is house trained and is a sweet, easy-going guy. We think he is about about eight- nine years old and weighs roughly 10 pounds. He would make a perfect addition for anyone that wants to give a very special dog a second chance. He loves attention, loves to play with his toys, would love to sit on your lap and snuggle and loves his walks.  After all he has been through he never lost his spirit.   Please adding consider Kaipo to your family. show less

Old man Stan! This sweet older gentleman is still waiting for his perfect humans. He may be a little bit older, but he’s got a lot of pep in his step and he loves going for walks and hanging out with people and dogs. We can’t wait to find him his perfect forever home. show less

Meet Rocky. This senior gentleman had rough few weeks. He was impounded at the shelter after he was found in a towed vehicle. He waited there for a while, hoping that his owner would come back for him or someone would notice him, but that didn’t happen. Maybe it’s because he is an older guy (about eight years old) or maybe it’s because he’s got a funky growth on his foot. But when he got placed on the urgent list, we knew we knew we wanted to help. Now he is safe in a foster home. show less

Brenna has come along way. And …. she has a long way to go. Brenna was rescued after being starved and tied up. Years of abuse and neglect have taken a toll on her behavior. She is anxious and reactive and needs professional help so that she can continue to decompress and learn about her new reality. We will do everything in our power to set this girl up for success in her next chapter. show less

Atka is still waiting. This beautiful, young husky boy joined us several months ago. He had been turned in to the shelter with a badly broken leg. We got him surgery to repair the leg and he’s been recovering with his wonderful foster humans. But now it’s his turn. This dog, friendly, housetrained, and well behaved dog would make a perfect companion for an active family. Please consider Atka!  show less

Snickerdoodle has been patiently waiting for her family.  She is gentle and sweet and gets along with other dogs and cats! She clearly hasn’t had the best life so far. We would love to turn that around for her and give her the retirement she so deserves. Please consider Snickerdoodle for the holidays.  show less

Zully is a unique beauty. She is sweet lab/greyhound (?) mix Who is found starving in Mexico. She made her way to us and is now enjoying life and her foster home. we think she’s about two years old, she is dog friendly, housetrained and just about 45 pounds. Clover! Many of you remember the story of this dog who we named Clover. She was turned into the shelter, covered with a thick toxic paint which severely burned a good portion of her skin (swipe with caution). We stepped in to save her and some of you stepped up and donated towards her medical care. She made a full recovery and had some adoption interest. But unfortunately that person retracted their application due to their health issues 😞… That means, a lucky person can throw their hat in the ring for this beautiful dog.  Clover is roughly 2 years old and only about 45 pounds. She is dog friendly, housetrained and walks nicely on leash. She lived here with the Love Leo crew for several weeks and did great with everyone. She’s currently working with @darianthedogtrainer to help her gain some confidence and learn some basic skills. She’s doing great and he said she’s a star pupil. She would do best in a home with calm energy and a yard for her to run around in. Another balanced, calm dog would a good match. We would really love to set this girl up in her forever home for the holidays. After everything she’s been through, she truly deserves nothing but love going forward. show less
