Asher is a fun and loving 3 year old male Dogo Argentino. He is almost competely deaf (only hears high pitch sounds). He does know some hand signal commands. Asher has a lot of energy and would do well with a female dog that has the same energy level. He loves a good romp around the yard and his favorite past time is sunbathing and playing frisbee. He's not a big fan of car rides as he does get a little sick but anti nausea medicine helps tremendously. He should go to a home with no small children since he is a big boy and doesn't realize his size. Asher is located in Pensecola FL.

Meet our handsome Binx!! We reached out to his fans to get him a new name because they were calling him "Cracker" at the shelter. So Binx was named by our of our supporters (Kim) after a character in Hocus Pocus! In the movie this charater was a daring, brave, and determined character. These traits fit our Binx as well along with the fact that he is a mellow male with medium energy who enjoys spending time with his human. Binx loves going on walks and car rides taking in all the scenery and scents. He is a shelter survivor and we don't know much about his past and he appears to be may 6 years old. Binx is very well behaved and is a wonderful male ready for a home looking for the perfect companion. Randomly he gets the zoomies and is very proud of when it makes his people smile! He is a gentlemen and we know there is a perfect home for him. We don't know how he is around other dogs yet but he loves the adults in his life and has a laid back attitude willing to be trained by the trust of his handler. Binx really loves going on new adventures and the outdoors! If he could just explore all day he totally would. He was definitely a hog hunter in the past and still seems interested today. We would love to see Binx in a home that has the ability to let him continue his love for being outside in his element. We do think he will aclimate to a home very well as long as he has fun outdoors. He has a lot of great energy and in really good shape considering how he was when we first got him! This dog is going to make the best companion to whomever is lucky enough to have him!

Buddy is affectionate and well behaved boy. He is very smart and although he doesn’t like to play fetch (he loves to chase), he does enjoy a game of tug-of-war and showcasing his tricks (sit, stay, paw, lay down, catch). He is not allowed on furniture but that doesn’t stop him from trying to sit on your lap. He loves to cuddle, has never had an accident in the house and prefers to do his business in the woods. He will only bark at you if he really needs to go out. Buddy Loves to play and nap (he snores loudly). He has a favorite blanket that he carries around like Linus. He loves the sunshine and being outside. He’s happiest when he is with all of his people. He’s good with children and other dogs who are willing to play with him. Buddy is located in Virginia.

Adoption in Process! Hey! My name is Chaplin aka Chappy! I am a 2 year old Dogo Argentino that is looking to find my forever home! I’m a big goofball and still working on my manners. Currently I am in Lakeland, FL and looking for a forever home. I am a little bit of work but I will make up for it with lots of hugs and kisses. My first couple of years have been rough and I am trying to figure out my place and how to properly socialize with other dogs. I like other dogs and even like the house cat! My problem seems to be that sometimes I decide to be dominant and cause problems. I want to play and enjoy playing but then my excitements goes too far. Often this happens when pups are taken from their litter too early (before 8 weeks) and/or the pup didn't get enough socialization practice. I am still young enough that we think this is something that can be trained and would need a home able to work on this and keep dogs separate when not supervised. Here in Lakeland the foster really loves me and would love to keep me but I take it too far with her sweet older female dog when we are playing. I even play with a couple friendly male dogs and was good with them! I just don't know how to continue proper play and we need to work on it! Everyone thinks it's best that I find a home with a yard where I can run to get out my energy while working on my socialization. I recently completed my heart worm treatment and now slowly I am getting exposed to more things. I seem to be interested in cats but a proper introduction may be best. I am good around other dogs but seem to do better with lady dogs. I’m working on my introductions with people as I’m kind of judgey. Some people I just love right away others I need to be around you for a little bit. I’m not aggressive just vocalize my opinion. But I have made massive improvements with this and I even do good at the vet office! I seem to warm up to woman quickly but some men I want to get to know more over a little bit of time. I am an awesome eater and do not turn down my food or snacks. I am a giant love bug and looking for someone who likes to be active but also spends time as a homebody. If you’re not looking to adopt, please share me so my new family can find me! My perfect home would have a big fenced in yard for me to play in, and no kids under 10 years old - I'm just too clumsy and I wouldn't want to knock anyone down! I really am a total love bug and shown to be so sweet to my foster mom. She really loves me alot and I've been so nice to her too!

Courtney is looking for a place to call home! We think she may be around 2-3 years old. She is a really sweet girl who loves to snuggle and give sweet dogo kisses. Courtney would do well in a home with a stable male dog of similar size. She seems to need a buddy around to make her feel safe. She would prefer a home with no cats, small dogs or young children. She would love a home that would give her daily exercise and a soft place to land. She craves human attention, although she may take a moment to warm up and feel confident. Courtney is currently being fostered in Central Texas but would be willing to travel to an approved perfect home.

Dash is a fun and energetic boy. He is approx 3 years old. Dash just finished his Heartworm treatment and is now ready for his furever home. He needs an experienced person who will work on his obedience training as he will test his boundries. He would do well in an active home where he can exert his energy which in turn makes him a happy boy. He is good with other dogs but would do best as the only male dog in the home. He should go to a home with no small children. Currently Dash is located in Georgia but is willing to move to the right home! He is very well behaved in the car although he may judge your singing abilities!

Evie is a funny and sweet girl. Her cute antics will make you smile. She was found as a stray and ended up in a south florida shelter. It appears she was used for breeding and probably dumped after they were done with her. We think she is around 4-5 years old. Evie is heartworm positive and will need to go through treatment for about 6 weeks. During this time, she will need to be kept quiet with very limited activity. She is a well behaved girl and crates easily. She is house trained and a fairly quiet only barking to alert you. Evie is a definition of a lap dog and will crawl into you lap every chance she get, oh and she a hugger!! She seems to be dog selective so she needs to be in a home with no other dogs or able to keep dogs separated. We do not know how she is with cat or small children. Evie is located in the Tampa Bay area but can be transported if you are not local.

Felix is a young male who we just rescued from a San Francisco, CA shelter. He is currently living with his foster family in Southern California, and we are learning more about him. We think Felix is around one year old. He has lots of energy and loves playing with toys! He is goofy and loveable! Felix is looking for a home that is patient, loving, and willing to help him learn manners and basic training. He can be a little skiddish at first with strangers (especially men) and needs slow introductions to warm up to you. His new family should not have cats, but he may be ok with a female dog if the family is experienced and willing to separate and do slow and propper introductions.

Forrest is a 6 month old male Dogo looking for his forever home! Forrest came to the rescue with some health issues due to malnourishment and neglect, but since arriving in his foster home he has done amazing! Forrest will need a home that has at least one other dog, as he loves to play with his pack, and a big fenced in yard to play in. He also needs his humans to LOVE affection, as Forrest is the sweetest Dogo around!

Freya is a sweet, approx 5/6 year old female. Clearly used for breeding and then dumped, we rescued Freya from the shelter with a gaping wound on her abdomen. Freya will be vetted and will recover in her foster home before she will be available for adoption. We will update as we find out more about Freya!

This sweet, goofy boy steals hearts wherever he goes! Gotti is new to our rescue, so we're still learning about him. He came to use as an owner surrender by way of a local animal shelter. He is 21 months old and a ball of energy! We have affectionately dubbed him as the 'dogo missile' because he will launch himself at your chest when excited. While he does know basic commands, he tends to forget his manners when he's overly excited or sees his favorite people. He also likes to affectionately nibble fingers, necks and earlobes. Because of this, he would do best in a home with no children. He LOVES sticks and all toys. He currently lives with two other females and has shown no dog aggression. He would do well with a companion close to his energy level. As an active boy, he will need daily walks and exercise to help keep him stimulated. Due to a previous trainer's unorthodox training methods, Gotti has developed food aggression and kennel reactivity. Since he is new to rescue, we will be closely monitoring this to determine the level of reactivity. He does well with treats and hand-feeding, but is reactive when he sees his handler preparing his food/holding the food bowl. Gotti must go to an experienced home. Located in Maryland, but transport can be arranged for approved homes.

Meet our Gypsy Girl!! She is currently living a fun life with her foster family located about 30 minutes NW of Chicago, IL. Although we love local adoptions, we do move dogs across states for the purfect new home! Gypsy is a lil firecracker deaf pup with all sorts of sass! She's may be small now but she's a boss, being deaf doesn't change a thing about her! She has lots of playmates in her foster home and her spare time she loves to watch the swans. You can catch her in action on our Tiktok page @dcdogosrescue and on @motherofrescues1228. She loves to sleep under the covers and will steal your man if he has beard because she loves to lick beards! Gypsy recommends that her new home have a golf cart or ATV that she can chase because it's something she really likes to do! Taking rides on the golf cart is also on her list of favorites! She was named after the Fleetwood Mac song Gypsy and definitely fits the role! She is a vocal girl with a big personality! The perfect home for Gypsy is one that has experience with the breed or very similar experience. This home has to be patient and know or be willing to learn how to communicate with her by sign language. Our deafies need homes that are very secure and with little risk of escaping, therefore she needs secure yard with a high (6') fence. We have many resources that give guidance for deafies as they make wonderful family members when trained properly. We take training very seriously for this breed and espcially for our deafies! If you have any questions about Gypsy you can reach out to us through Facebook messenger or any options at dcdogos.org/contact. Thanks for your interest in Gypsy!

Currently fostered in south/central Florida while he healing from his Entropion surgery. Hunter is learning new things every day and we are working on his manners. He likes to steal pizza and play with 5 gallon water jugs so he really is a giant 120lb puppy! He is learning the boundaries needed to be the perfect dog and we are impressed with how well he is doing so far. We are still learning about Hunter to see what he likes and doesn't like so for now his adoption applications are on hold. He also has to fully heal from eye surgery over the next month as long as things go well. We have not had him around other dogs yet but he hasn't shown any reaction towards the ones he sees on walks. He even behaved while meeting a horse so we have a good feeling about being able to socialize him. Stay tuned for updates on Hunter!

We saved Jewel (formerly Harper) from a Houston shelter within hours of her euthansia deadline. She is heartworm positive, has demodex, and suffers from an old gunshot wound to her right front ankle. We think she is about 4 years old, possibly younger and has had a very difficult and rough life so far but it will never be that way again. She is timid and shy to humam touch but we know she will recover over time and come out of her shell as she learns to trust us! Stay tuned for updates and we expect the earliest she would be available for adoption is early June.

King is a new intake. We will update his profile once we learn more about him. King is 1-2 years old; he has lived with children and small dogs but we prefer he go to a foster home that has no small kids and is able to separate dogs until we can get a better assessment on him.

Kurt is looking for the perfect home. We think he is around 4 or 5 years old. He absolutely craves love and attention and enjoys giving big dogo hugs and kisses. He would do best in a home with a confident experienced adopter who would work with him on his training and provide him with plenty of exercise. He has not been reactive with other dogs and could possibly do well with a submissive female with proper introductions. We do not recommend a home with cats, small dogs or small children. Kurt is a big love bug and would be so happy to be someone's adventure buddy. He is currently being fostered in Central Texas but would happily go on a road trip to the right forever home.

Lance is currently in Tampa, FL and will be available for adoption no earlier than the end of June. Any applications received for Lance will be reviewed but keep in mind he has to undergo and recover from heartworm (HW) treatment befor being place. Lance, oftern called Sir Lancelot, came to us through a shelter in Miami where he was found in horrible condition and heartworm positive. Despite how terrible he must feel, he is truly amazing! His spirt is adorable and he gives kisses to strangers. He reacts happily to other dogs and is an all around gem. Right now he is getting some serious TLC to fatten him up and repair his skin that was suffering from allergies and bacterial infections along with hair loss. His heartworm positive status is in the early stages and we know he will make a wonderful recovery soon! This sweetheart loves to go on walks and is a good boy on leash. He does get a little excited sometimes and really wants to play like a pup! Right now we have to keep him low active due to his recent neuter and HW status. Lance is such a good boy on car rides and likes to check out his surroundings. At the farm he has shown no interest in the chickens and we will work on other animals soon. Lance has a lot of potention to be a very well rounded and social male dogo and will need a family that will appreciate him and continue his training and social life!

Currently Luna is in Southwest Florida in a Foster-to-Adopt home and we have learned so much about her. We got Luna as an owner surrender and have learned that she is just a wonderful loving girl! She really enjoys hanging out with her little humans (toddler and preteen) and especially likes picking up crumbs the baby drops for her! Being deaf hasn't stopped Luna from learning and becomming obedient as she enjoys treats and praise! One of her favorite things to do is to take a stroll and sight see with her foster mom and kiddos. She has really learned how to be good on a leash and enjoy multiple walks throughout the day. Luna is working on her training around big animals, like horses! She was interested in meeting the household cat but the cat didn't want anything to do with her. We do feel like she has a good potential to be cat friendls. She is dog friendly as well and that makes this girl a total gem with how she does with socialization. Since she is in a FTA home we are not accepting applications but if things change her adoption button will be active. Thanks for your interest!

Sweet Luna hasn't had such a great start in life. This poor girl has been passed around from at least 4 differnt homes in just the couple years she's been on this earth. It's obviously she has never had a stable life; no love and kindness for a long time. Despite her rough past, Luna has nothing but love to give. She is longing for a home she can finally call her own. Luna is approximately 2-3 years old, good with other dogs and children, unknown how she is with cats. She does have some basic obedience but will need work on her recall. She walks nicely on a leash and is house trained. Currently located in Alice TX. Transport can be arrange for approved adopters if not local.

We just saved Nicky from a California shelter on Christmas Eve and are continuing to learn more about him! We think Nicky is about 1 year old - he is very much a big puppy! He has some basic training and knows sit, down, watch me, leave it, and shake. We are working on stay, drop it, and most importantly off because he loves to jump and give love! Nicky enjoys walks, car rides, playing tug of war, and digging. He is extremely treat and food motivated and responds great to training. He also learning to spend more time in his kennel and has done well so far. He has not been officially dog tested yet, but seems friendly and excited when seeing other dogs from afar and through a fence, so we think he would be ok with a female dog as long as proper introductions are done. Nicky would not be good with small children due to his size and strength, but would be fine with older children who understand dog behavior and are used to being around large dogs. His ideal home would have an active owner who can give him plenty of exercize, lots of love, continue training, and be firm in teaching him rules and boundaries.
