MEET AIDEN Family movie night or Saturday soccer game with the kiddos? Sign Aiden up! This sweet boy is an affectionate family man who is all about playing, napping, and cuddling. Aiden is a three-year-old hound mix who loves other dogs and kids. He is even calm and patient with cats. He would make a loyal addition to a family, but he would also be happy to soak up all the attention himself! Topping the list of Aiden’s favorite activities is hanging with his humans, palling around with fellow pups, and walks that offer plenty of opportunities to stop and sniff the … well you know (it’s not roses). Aiden is a good-natured, trainable hound who is ready for an afternoon on the town or a peaceful day at home with belly rubs in abundance. In fact, he is getting quite used to creature comforts, like air conditioning. The other day, he found the back door ajar, let himself out for a bathroom break, and came back inside! Aiden is housebroken and crate-trained. He is neutered and up-to-date on all vaccinations. Aiden promises to give his new furever family lots of tail wags and kisses. Are you ready to open your heart and home to Aiden? The Adoption Process If you are ready to meet him please fill out an online adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your internet browser: https://www.petstablished.com/adoption_form/10666/generic Once your application is submitted, we will contact the vet reference provided. If you do not yet have a vet, please provide three personal references – these could be family and friends who can attest to your pet parenting skills. A volunteer will schedule a phone interview with you. The interview and application help our fosters find their forever home by ensuring a good match. The Louisa Humane Society does not have a brick and mortar facility, so all of our pets are in foster care. Once approved, the foster parent will reach out to arrange a visit. The foster family can tell you all about his likes, dislikes, and little quirks. The application and visit do not oblige you to adopt, but if you’re ready to take him home as your furry forever friend, his adoption fee is $150. Should the match turn out less than perfect, or if you are unwilling or unable to care for an adopted animal, the Louisa Humane Society will take the animal back into our care. show less

Ms. Honey is a hound with all the charm, beauty, and smarts of a real southern belle. Her white fur with its rich brown and black spots will have all your neighbors remarking on her beautiful markings. Just like any southern lady, she loves to socialize with her doggie friends and enjoys sunning herself in the backyard. This cheerful sweetheart has a very expressive face and a lot to say! Honey is about two years old and weighs 34 pounds – though it’s really not polite to talk about a lady’s weight or her age! With her sleek physique, it’s hard to believe this sweet mamma had seven puppies in October 2017. All her pups have found new homes, and now Ms. Honey is looking for a place of her own. Honey is house-trained, completely vetted, and micro-chipped. She is spayed and up-to-date on all vaccinations, including rabies and bordetella (kennel cough). Reilly is part hound, part lab — a mix worthy of super dog status. For one, Reilly is a nosy neighbor. When he is not looking out the window from inside, he is outside nosing around in everyone’s business ─ from chipmunks to moles — with his not-so-secret sniffing super power. It has also been said that Reilly runs so fast when excited that he approaches the speed of light. Beyond his athleticism and sense of smell, this three- to four-year-old boy is real Mr. Smarty Pants who doesn’t mind showing off his intelligent side. Did we mention that Reilly is also sweeter than a gum drop? If you are looking for a huggable, snuggly pup, Reilly is your man. He is good with kids and other dogs off-leash, and in the house or car, he is calm and quiet. Reilly is neutered, completely vetted, and micro-chipped.
