Aiden is a friendly three-year-old hound mix who is looking for a foster family to give him a big supply of puppy love and a bit of TLC so he can undergo heartworm treatment. This sweet boy is currently in a shelter, but he is looking for a quiet foster home where he can rest and relax during the treatment. Aiden will need at least 60 days to recover from the medical procedure, but he is a fast learner who can quickly fit in with your family. Once he is heartworm-free and neutered, Aiden will be ready to find his forever home. We know he’ll be full of tail-wagging gratitude! We can’t thank you enough for being a friend of the Louisa Humane Society. Whether you’ve fostered, adopted, donated, or even just shared our posts – every action helps saves lives and makes you a hero for animals. Heartworm disease is spread through mosquito bites and is not contagious to other pets in the house. If you are interested in fostering Aiden, please reach out to us by completing our online foster application, https://www.petstablished.com/adoption_form/10667/generic show less

Faline and her siblings, Flower and Thumper, are fun little pups, at 2 months old she weighs approximately 6 lbs, we expect she will be a small to medium sized dog when full grown. Faline is not completely house-trained yet, but completely vetted, and micro-chipped. She is spayed and up-to-date on all vaccinations, including bordetella (kennel cough). The Adoption Process If you are ready to meet Faline, please fill out an online adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your internet browser: https://www.petstablished.com/adoption_form/10666/generic Once your application is submitted, we will contact the vet reference provided. If you do not yet have a vet, please provide three personal references – these could be family and friends who can attest to your pet parenting skills. A volunteer will schedule a phone interview with you. The interview and application help our fosters find their forever home by ensuring a good match. The Louisa Humane Society does not have a brick and mortar facility, so all of our pets are in foster care. Once approved, Faline’s foster parent will reach out to arrange a visit. The foster family can tell you all about her likes, dislikes, and little quirks. The application and visit do not oblige you to adopt, but if you’re ready to take Faline home as your furry forever friend, her adoption fee is $300. Should the match turn out less than perfect, or if you are unwilling or unable to care for an adopted animal, the Louisa Humane Society will take the animal back into our care. show less

Ms. Honey is a hound with all the charm, beauty, and smarts of a real southern belle. Her white fur with its rich brown and black spots will have all your neighbors remarking on her beautiful markings. Just like any southern lady, she loves to socialize with her doggie friends and enjoys sunning herself in the backyard. This cheerful sweetheart has a very expressive face and a lot to say! Honey is about two years old and weighs 34 pounds – though it’s really not polite to talk about a lady’s weight or her age! With her sleek physique, it’s hard to believe this sweet mamma had seven puppies in October 2017. All her pups have found new homes, and now Ms. Honey is looking for a place of her own. Honey is house-trained, completely vetted, and micro-chipped. She is spayed and up-to-date on all vaccinations, including rabies and bordetella (kennel cough). She is currently on heartworm preventative and flea/tick control. If you are looking for a friend to warm your heart with her cold nose, come meet Honey!
