Meet Patchie! Patchie is a black and white, chunky guy, about 3 - 5 years old who has an easy-going purrsonality, though is shy when you first meet him.. He was found by former adopters who found him in the woods behind their property, very sick with a bad case of mange. They fed him for a day or two then contacted us. I will never forget what the gentleman said, "Please help him. He wants to live so much." The couple agreed to care for him until his mange was better and until we were able to take him into care. Patchie saw our vet and we were told this was the worst case of mange she had ever seen. She was not sure he would be okay, but knew we didn't give up on **any** cat, so we began to treat him. Patchie showed rapid improvement and soon came into foster care. That was a year ago. Patchie is a happy go lucky sweetheart. He loves to hang around his bestie, Caleb, and the two do everything together. Patchie is shy until he gets to know you. He is not a fan of being picked up, but enjoys being pet and watching what is happening with everybody and everything - oh, if he could only speak! No more hiding out in the woods anymore, he enjoys the high life now and loves eating - he is getting a little chubby - but that is part of his charm. Patchie would do best in a quiet, low activity home with older kids over the age of 14 years old. He loves to spend time with other cats, and he and Caleb are besties and bonded and need to be adopted together.. Patchie and Caleb would be a great companion cats, once they  feel comfortable and get to know you. Patchie is neutered, had his FVRCP vaccine, his rabies vaccine, tested negative for feline leukemia and fiv, and is microchipped for life. Please let us know if you are interested in Patchie. Reef and Pier came to us two years ago as babies with their mother Breeze, after a Good Samaritan found her hiding with them and the rest of the litter under a backyard shed in the broiling summer heat. This bonded pair was adopted together that fall, but they're back with us through no fault of their own and looking for a new home. Reef is an affectionate, energetic little guy who would like you to believe that he has never once had any food in his life. He needs to be involved in everything and loves rolling around on the floor and even in the bathroom sink. Pier is a gentle lovebug with super-soft fur and sweet eyes. He'll softly pat and nuzzle people to let them know he needs some attention, and he loves to snuggle up with his favorite people and purr his little heart out. Reef and Pier have been through a lot in the past couple months and will need a couple days of patience to acclimate to their new home, but they're sweet boys who would do well in any environment where they have people to love on them. We would love to find them a home soon! Please contact us if you are interested in these beautiful boys. Both noys are neutered, received rabies and FVRCP vaccine (3 year vaccines), combo tested negative, and are microchipped with a lifetime registration. No need to re-register every year- we've done it for you! Meet this gorgeous threesome - Tokyo, Bangkok, and Singapore! These three kittens came to us with 3 (Osaka, Shang Hai, and Siam) others from their home under a shed. The Good Samaritan was having some work done on the shed and they all ran out to greet the construction worker. Tokyo is mostly white and black, a male. He is a little rough-houser and loves to wrestle and play. He is a cuddly little guy and loves to be held and loved on. Bangkok has the most gorgeous colors. He is a Siamese mix with sparkling blue eyes and spots of gray on his little self. He has little black triangles in the corner creases of his ears and his tail is mostly gray, then a single stripe of black, then white then a black tip - very unusual. Bangkok is also a big wrestler. Little Singapore is a little girl - a Siamese Lilac Point mix with bright blue eyes, mostly light gray with darker areas of gray around her nose and tail. She just likes to play with her brothers, but is usually the one being pinned down in the wrestling match. They are all loving, playful, purring, and cuddly and all 3 are extremely bonded. They eat together and they groom each other. They sleep together in one big clump, ALWAYS....so they need to all 3 be adopted together. There is a discount for three. Please do not ask us to separate these babies. It will not happen. They are ready to go home now with an approved application. Your adoption fee includes: deworming, 2 FVRCP vaccines, a rabies vaccine, spay/neuter, combo testing, and a microchip with a lifetime registration. Discount on adoption of 3. Will not separate. With these adorable faces and purrsonalities, they won't last long. GoodMews22@aol.com show less

Meet Stella R. Tois aka "Stella," Jenna C. Brew, and Jennings - 3 one -year-old sisters who are looking for a home. These 3 girls have been with us since they were little kittens, about 8 weeks old. They were found in the parking lot of the brewery in downtown Culpeper. Stella is the braver of the 3 sisters and enjoys being pet, once she gets to know you, on her terms Usually while eating). Jenna C. and Jennings (like twins!) are very shy but submissive. When they need vetted, it isn't difficult to pick them up and place them in a carrier - again, once they are comfortable with you. These girls are not barn cat material. They cannot defend themselves and are not street smart. They are, what we refer to as Violets - or shrinking violets. Stella, Jenna, and Jennings need a patient, quiet, loving home where they will be loved for who they are and their new person or family will be patient until they come out of their shell and learn to trust. They are litter box trained, but at times can knock the litter out or knock the box over. Easily fixed. They are not aggressive. They do not claw furniture and would love a large climber in front of a sunny window. Because they are not lap cats, they have lived a year in foster care and are yearning for their new home. Won't you please open your heart to them? Their perfect home would be a quiet, low activity home with either no children or children over the age of 14. Adoption fee - adopt 1 get 2 free. They just need a good, loving home. Thank you. GoodMews22@aol.com or call 540.717.4420 show less

BFFs Fisher, Gar"Bonzo," & Watson - A Tale of 3 Friends Every week we get many requests for Fisher, an orange tabby that came to us with his 5 siblings last summer. Fisher and his family were dumped at the dump and ended up at a high kill shelter – a double whammy. Forgotten Felines pulled Fisher and his siblings and all were adopted, except Fisher. “So…if you are getting a lot of calls for Fisher, what’s the problem?” you ask. Well… Fisher has always been a bit of a loner and always sat apart from his siblings. He never wanted to play with them, he seemed to be a thinker type kinda guy, quiet. He never seemed to have any self esteem or real identity. Last summer we got in an entire family of orange cats that set up “house” in an office parking lot, right on the side of I-29 – remember? Gar”Bonzo” was the dad of that litter. Bonzo is a large orange tabby with white paws with an easy-going personality, though he didn’t come to us that way, he is TOTALLY a smooshie-guy now. Bonzo took an interest in Fisher and cleaned him, slept with him, and even played with toys with him. Keep in mind, Bonzo never even knew what a toy was…but he did this for Fisher. He seemed to know what Fisher needed and saw the emptiness in him…and filled it. Bonzo let Fisher know that he was okay and everything was okay. He mentored him in a way. This big ol’ cat from the streets took Fisher under his wing and became a big part of Fisher’s life. “Okay then, so adopt them together.” Last summer I received a call from the high kill shelter to pull some cats bc they would be euthanized. We took in the cats and when I asked if there were any more that needed out, the reply was, “We have one, but he will be put down bc he is feral.” I said I would take him. (Lots of times cats are not feral, just terrified from being in a big, loud, scary shelter, wondering what their fate will be.) I was told, “No, you don’t want him. He really is feral. We will put him down.” “No I want him.” I replied. Thinking, even a barn home is better than death. Watson came to us the following day, a day before he was slated for death. This big gray and white guy just stayed in his carrier in the crate and I barely saw him for the first month he was with us. He came out of his carrier at night to eat and that was about it. Sometimes when I would come into the room late at night, I would see him lounging on top of his carrier and he would quickly run inside again, escaping interaction with me. I never heard a growl or a hiss, ever. Hmmm…I thought, feral, huh? After Watson settled in, he was fully vetted and the door was opened on his crate. He could now come out and meet everyone he had been looking at for awhile, or stay in his crate if he chose. The decision was his. He came out and within a week or so, became best buds with Bonzo – after all, they had a lot in common. These are 2 guys that most would’ve given up on and dismissed as unfriendly cats, without taking the time to get to know them. Soon, Watson began cleaning and grooming little Fisher, too, eating with him, sleeping with him, and bonding with him. Now the world seemed to shine down on these three friends and all was happy and good, but they still need to complete their story. This is where you come in. These 3 friends are not traditional lap cats. Bonzo and Watson can be pet but do not like to be picked up – that’s okay. They often look out the French doors from the playroom and let me know when I am late to give them their canned food breakfast. They rub up against my legs when I come into the room. They can be pet and love affection. They are sweet cats who deserved to live. Once in a quiet home, they will most-likely bloom with a person they can trust. We are introducing these 3 guys, who have been through so much, to be part of a family. A family that is loving and understanding and patient and lets them adapt into their new home with love and patience. And so….I introduce to you….Gar”Bonzo” and Watson and Fisher. Three friends together. All fully vetted and microchipped, looking to add another chapter to their success story. (A deep discount will apply when adopting.) Please share with friends and family! GoodMews22@aol.com show less

Meet Anastasia and Windsor! These siblings were found in May 2022 under a Good Samaritan's porch with their mom and 3 siblings. and took a little while to warm up to people, but now they love attention and cuddles. They're a year old now but they still have a lot of kitten energy. They'll need a home with people who understand that they'll need a little patience at first, but these bonded siblings are worth it. Anastasia is a sweet blue tabby with white socks and gorgeous eyes. She loves following her foster mom around and headbutting her to let her know she needs some affection. Windsor is a  blue tabby with faint tabby stripes and a very distinct voice who always lets his foster mom know when it's time for dinner. Both of them love snuggling on the couch for movie night and chasing each other all over the place. They both get along well with other cats, though they'll likely need time to get used to dogs. Anastasia and Windsor's perfect home would be a quiet, low activity home with older kids over the age of 12 years old. They are spayed/neutered, had 2 FVRCP vaccines, a rabies vaccine, has tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia, and are microchipped with a lifetime registration. Meet Woody & Jessie, two bonded siblings with a sad past. They were found dumped in an empty dumpster behind a Culpeper pest control company as 6-7 week old kittens. (Thank goodness it was empty or there would have been poisons in there.) There was no way for them to have climbed inside, they were too little. There was no reason for them to go inside - there was nothing in it that would be tasty - it was completely empty. No wrries, They are safe. These two are adorable little white and brown tabbies, Woody is a bobtail, but not by birth - the vet believes there was some sort of blunt-force trauma a long before the dupster.  He is much larger than sister, Jessie, and tends to want to wrestle and rough-house, more than she does. :0) Jessie is a quiet little girl, happy to sit on the sidelines and watch, but will get involved with Woody's highjinx if she must. They are both little lovebugs and enjoy being held and loved on, goodness knows, their past obviously did not have much cuddling and love. Both siblings are spayed/neutered, dewormed, received 2 FVRCP vaccines, rabies vaccines, are tested negatived for FIV and feline leukemia, and are microchipped with a lifetime registration - no need to pay $20+ to reregister every year, it's done for life!
