Introducing the Penny Candy Sweet Treats! Mom, Taffy came to us as a stray. She is a beautiful buff tabby, very friendly and loving with a very laid-back personality. She would be a great companion cat as she loves affection and loves to be pet and is all about her human. She is probably about 2 years old. Her 6 (yes 6!!) kittens were born on March 23rd, less than a week after her coming to us! She is so easy-going about caring for this large litter - it was like, "hold my beer" while I take care of this with ease - she completely took care of her busy kittens so happily and calmly. FireBall (male) is a beautifully marked orange tabby . He is very sweet, friendly, and playful and is always running and tumbling with his siblings, but loves to cuddle, too. He hangs out mostly with brother, Twizzler. MaryJane is probably the friendliest of the bunch. She loves to be snuggled and cuddled but also runs, plays, and wrestles with her siblings. She is a torti with her little nose split with color right down the middle. Her photo does not due her justice! Penny (female) is a beautiful little torti and was the runt of her litter. She is a mommy's girl and is slightly less active than the rest, but will climb and tumble with the best of them. A little cuddler, she will cuddle with you and watch tv - in between socializing with her friends. Her photo does not due her justice. Twizzler (male) is an orange tabby who likes to wrestle with his look-alike brother, FireBall. They play together often and find adventure in everything. Dot (female) is a tabby with a little orangish dot on the top of her forehead. She is UBER loving and cuddly and always comes to the door to see what you are doing. Very playful. Tootsie (female) is a light brown tabby who is probably the shyest of the bunch, but not too shy. She is the one who will hang out in the background when it is time to eat or get a vaccine, etc. She would much rather play than be hanging with a human. She is playful and loves to hang with her sisters. Taffy and her litter will be spayed/neutered, are dewormed, have received 2 FVRCP vaccines, will receive a rabies vaccine if 4 months or older when adopted, will be tested for FIV and feline leukemia, and are microchipped with a lifetime registration. No worries about re-registering every year because it's done! All will be ready to go on or about June 21st. You can adopt now and bring back later to be spayed/neutered. Please find an application on our website at: https://www.forgottenfelinesculpeper.org/adopt-form where you can also read about our adoption process or you can email us at GoodMews22@aol.com.  BFFs Fisher, Gar"Bonzo," & Watson - A Tale of 3 Friends Every week we get many requests for Fisher, an orange tabby that came to us with his 5 siblings last summer. Fisher and his family were dumped at the dump and ended up at a high kill shelter – a double whammy. Forgotten Felines pulled Fisher and his siblings and all were adopted, except Fisher. “So…if you are getting a lot of calls for Fisher, what’s the problem?” you ask. Well… Fisher has always been a bit of a loner and always sat apart from his siblings. He never wanted to play with them, he seemed to be a thinker type kinda guy, quiet. He never seemed to have any self esteem or real identity. Last summer we got in an entire family of orange cats that set up “house” in an office parking lot, right on the side of I-29 – remember? Gar”Bonzo” was the dad of that litter. Bonzo is a large orange tabby with white paws with an easy-going personality, though he didn’t come to us that way, he is TOTALLY a smooshie-guy now. Bonzo took an interest in Fisher and cleaned him, slept with him, and even played with toys with him. Keep in mind, Bonzo never even knew what a toy was…but he did this for Fisher. He seemed to know what Fisher needed and saw the emptiness in him…and filled it. Bonzo let Fisher know that he was okay and everything was okay. He mentored him in a way. This big ol’ cat from the streets took Fisher under his wing and became a big part of Fisher’s life. “Okay then, so adopt them together.” Last summer I received a call from the high kill shelter to pull some cats bc they would be euthanized. We took in the cats and when I asked if there were any more that needed out, the reply was, “We have one, but he will be put down bc he is feral.” I said I would take him. (Lots of times cats are not feral, just terrified from being in a big, loud, scary shelter, wondering what their fate will be.) I was told, “No, you don’t want him. He really is feral. We will put him down.” “No I want him.” I replied. Thinking, even a barn home is better than death. Watson came to us the following day, a day before he was slated for death. This big gray and white guy just stayed in his carrier in the crate and I barely saw him for the first month he was with us. He came out of his carrier at night to eat and that was about it. Sometimes when I would come into the room late at night, I would see him lounging on top of his carrier and he would quickly run inside again, escaping interaction with me. I never heard a growl or a hiss, ever. Hmmm…I thought, feral, huh? After Watson settled in, he was fully vetted and the door was opened on his crate. He could now come out and meet everyone he had been looking at for awhile, or stay in his crate if he chose. The decision was his. He came out and within a week or so, became best buds with Bonzo – after all, they had a lot in common. These are 2 guys that most would’ve given up on and dismissed as unfriendly cats, without taking the time to get to know them. Soon, Watson began cleaning and grooming little Fisher, too, eating with him, sleeping with him, and bonding with him. Now the world seemed to shine down on these three friends and all was happy and good, but they still need to complete their story. This is where you come in. These 3 friends are not traditional lap cats. Bonzo and Watson can be pet but do not like to be picked up – that’s okay. They often look out the French doors from the playroom and let me know when I am late to give them their canned food breakfast. They rub up against my legs when I come into the room. They can be pet and love affection. They are sweet cats who deserved to live. Once in a quiet home, they will most-likely bloom with a person they can trust. We are introducing these 3 guys, who have been through so much, to be part of a family. A family that is loving and understanding and patient and lets them adapt into their new home with love and patience. And so….I introduce to you….Gar”Bonzo” and Watson and Fisher. Three friends together. All fully vetted and microchipped, looking to add another chapter to their success story. (A deep discount will apply when adopting.) Meet Henley & Harper! (Henley is the torti in foreground and Harper  is the torti in the back.) These little girls are 2 bonded sisters that need to be adopted together.  They were abandoned/dumped (with unopened cans of cat food!), with their brother, Court Gentry in a Good Samaritan's backyard. As of 9/19/20, they are approximately 6 weeks old, so we are taking application for preadoption only currently. Henley is outgoing and affectionate. She’s the first one to greet you when you walk into the room and will jump into your lap for snuggling.  She’d rather snuggle than play. Harper may be a little shy at first, but once she gets to know you, she too will beg for affection.  They’re both talkative and are sometimes demanding when it comes to attention they want.   These cuties like to climb people!  If you are not paying enough attention to them, they will climb up your leg or onto your shoulder so they can talk in your ear.  They currently talk all the time!  Their  ideal person/family will love these two because they are fiercely bonded to their human and willing to give them lots of love. They would be great as the only kittens/cats in the home, or they would get along great with others.  They haven’t been introduced to dogs or kids yet. Both kittens are/will be dewormed, spayed, have received 2 FVRCP vaccines, a rabies vaccine (if 4 mos. old at time of adoption). tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia, and are microchipped with a lifetime registration. No need to re-register and pay $20+ every year, it is done for life! Interested in knowing more about these cuties? Let us know! GoodMews22@aol.com show less

Meet Woody & Jessie, two bonded siblings with a sad past. They were found dumped in an empty dumpster behind a Culpeper pest control company as 6-7 week old kittens. (Thank goodness it was empty or there would have been poisons in there!) There was no way for them to have climbed inside, they were too little. There was no reason for them to go inside - there was nothing in it that would be tasty - it was completely empty. No wrries, They are safe. These two are adorable little white and brown tabbies, Woody is a bobtail, but not by birth - the vet believes there was some sort of blunt-force trauma a long before the dupster.  He is much larger than sister, Jessie, and tends to want to wrestle and rough-house, more than she does. :0) Jessie is a quiet little girl, happy to sit on th esidelines and watch, but will get involved with Woody's highjinx if she must/ They are both little lovebugs and enjoy being held and loved on, goodness knows, their past obviously did not have much cuddling and love. Both siblings are spayed/neutered, dewormed, received 2 FVRCP vaccines, a rabies vaccine if 4 month or older when adopted, are tested negatived for FIV and feline leukemia, and are microchipped with a lifetime registration - no need to pay $20+ to reregister every year, it's done for life! Meet Loki and you will never forget him or his story ~ EVER. Loki is a sweet little, all black kitten, approximately 8 weeks old. He loves to zoom around and play with his toys, and if he can't find any toys, he'll play with anything else he can get his little paws on. He's a brave little guy -- not even the vaccuum scares him! And once he's worn himself out playing, he loves to curl up on top of his favorite human, make some biscuits, and fall asleep purring. Loki is ready for a good life of plentiful toys, food, and snuggles because he has had a rough start to life.He is the sole survivor of 2 litters of kittens, 10 kittens in all (along with some 13+ adults cats)  that were abandoned by their "owners" when they moved away, and left them outside to fend for themselves. In short, a neighbor thought something was odd when all of the sudden a lot of cats began coming to her home crying for food. They all came from the same direction, so she investigated. What she found was beyond horrible. We took into care 4 kittens with varying degrees of starvation and injuries, and only Loki survived . He was small for his age, but healthy. This cutie pie has been spoiled rotten in our care and is now looking for his forever home.He gets along great with other cats but would need a playmate who could match his energy. He could also be a great companion cat for a person or a family who has a lot of time to spend with him.  Loki is/will be dewormed, neutered, has had 2 FVRCP vaccines, a rabies vaccine (if 4 months or older when adopted), tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. No need to pay $20+ every uear to re-new registration, it's done for life! Interested in this sweet little guy? Email us at GoodMews22@aol.com for an application. show less

Meet Rocco, a handsome 1 year old black young cat that has the vet's office all ga-ga! He came to us as a kitten a year ago with his sister, Roxxie before they were set to be euthanized at the kill shelter.  Rocco was adopted last February and was returned to us  recently when it was found he had stomatitis, an auto-immune disorder that requires all of a cat's teeth to be extracted..(We have had about 5 cats over the past 14 years with stomatitis with teeth extracted and all do just fine and with no issues afterwards. They even eat dry food!) After a second opinion from our vet, we had Rocco's teeth extracted and he is doing just fine. This poor guy has had a rough time  - he lost his owner of 6 months, then he had surgery. Rocco is just about recovered now and is as sweet as can be.After only 2 weeks, he is back to eating his favorite food - dry food - and is just a s happy as ever. He loves to be pet and loves sitting and watching tv with you. He is stil very playful and loves to play ball and romp around. Every vet he has seen, and the animal hospital commented on how sweet he is. Rocco is very lovable. He loves to be pet and held, will "talk" to you, and would be a perfect companion cat. He loves to paly and is quite playful, as well. He is looking for a TRUE forever home with someone who will love him through thick and thin...just as he is and won't abandon him during rough times.   Rocco would do well in a quiet - to moderately to lightly active home with kids over the age of 7 years old. Rocco is dewormed, neutered, had 2 FVRCP vaccines, a rabies vaccine, tested negative for FIV and Feline Leukemia, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. (You won't need to pay to reregister every year.)  Email us at GoodMews22@aol.com if you are interested in this sweet boy. show less

Meet our sweet Timmy Tiptoes! Timmy is a male with silky, soft, black fur and beautiful brown eyes, just barely a year old. He came to us with his siblings, Diggory, PuddleDuck, and TiggyWinkle - all named after Beatrix Potter characters. They came to us on July 3rd, 2021 from a local street, absolutely covered in  fleas. One of the kittens died before we were even able to get it due to flea anemia. These babies are happy and healthy now and what lovebugs! Timmy  is very loving and silly. He loves to sneak into bed with you and get so confortable - lying on his back, all stretched out...when you realize he is there, he acts as though he doesn't know how he got there. (What happened??) Tiggy has a playful, loving, and comical personality once he warms up to you, He is very silly and loves to tap your hand or foot then sit and watch. He loves to wrestle and race with Timmy. He is extremely bonded with identical brother, Timmy Tiptoes, and will need to be adopted with him. There is discount for adopting both. Both cats are neutered, received 3 FVRCP vaccines, a rabies vaccine, tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia, and microchipped with lifetime registrations.
