NEW ENGLAND ADOPTER/FOSTER/FOSTER-TO-ADOPT NEEDED Chow is a 1-1/2 yr old male Great Pyrenees and weighs about 70 lbs. Chow spent the first 1 yr and 4 months living outside in Texas. The last two months he has been learning how to be an inside dog. He is leash trained, crate trained and working on house training. His foster mom says he likes to play with his toys and cuddle on the couch. Chow would do best in a home with another dog. He is good with other dogs but cats are big NO! If you are interested in adopting any of our dogs, please complete our online adoption application: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/31747/generic For more info, please email skylyrspassion@att.net OR visit our website: http://www.lifesaverssp.org/ We will conduct a phone interview, check references and then a home check. Hello everyone!   My name is Dougal, I’m around 3 years old they say, and I‘m from Texas! Nobody knows about my life before I was picked up off the street by my rescue person as young pup, skeletal and starving with bone fractures and other health woes. She saved me and nursed me back until I was in good shape and then sent me on a long bus ride to New England. I really like it here because everyone has been so good to me. I was in a foster home the first few months, then I was adopted but returned 1.5 years later because I met porcupines twice, and it didn’t turn out so well. They don’t have those in Texas so I got way too curious and ended up at the vet emergency both times. I overheard them saying how ‘expensive’ it was, but I don’t know what that means. Now I’m in another foster home…I love my foster mom and her 3 buddies, Puddles, Toby and Sammy who look and act like me. There’s a cat here too! I LOVE the cat. They say I don’t look like I’d be good to the cat, but they’re prejudiced. The cat is my second most favorite person. I like to chase him sometimes, and get swatted, but I like that! After that, my buddy Puddles is definitely my first favorite. Foster mom thinks I’m too attached to him because I want to protect Puddles from everyone including her and have gotten growly a few times. She says that’s not good and doesn’t make sense and then corrects me, but I still do it occasionally. In the morning I get a doggie prozac pill for my which is wrapped in Italian Prosciutto so I don’t taste it. It helps me with my doggie anxiety she says. I‘m still scared sometimes and wary of people I don’t know…I worry I’ll get a beating and hunker and act pitiful.    I want to be a good boy so badly, and I try my best all day, every day, but sometimes I mess up like when I got into a fight with my buddy Toby for no good reason. I feel really bad about it. I didn’t mean to, but I made up for it afterwards by being exceptionally good and well behaved. Now I’m kept away strictly from Toby just in case I act a fool again. Foster mom says I have a loose screw, but she tells me I’m great too. According to her, I’m super charming, very charismatic and also goofy, and very handsome which must be important too. I have learned to shake my paw when I get my chew treats or even just because I’m asked to. I guess I have a lot going for me because I get doted on all the time! She loves me a lot so I get away with all sorts of things like jumping on people’s laps to insist on food bites. She’s never mad at me, picture that! I’m a lucky boy. When she calls while I’m running off leash I come running immediately (unless I smell porcupines)…I love going for long hikes preferably on trails in the countryside around here. In cities with lots of traffic and noise I’m unsure and pull to get back inside my car. I love riding in the car and never mess it up. I sit in the back like a good boy. Sometimes I get to go swimming. I swim like a champ, fetch stick after stick for hours. I would be a canine dock-diving winner for sure. I also get new toys occasionally, not often enough though. They’re my ‘babies’ and I love them and run round in circles like a wild man!   Even though foster-mom loves me I am still looking for my furrever home. I get along well with other pups, but since I got into that fight they say I should be an only spoiled dog this time, maybe an older docile dog is ok. I also don’t know what to do with kids, so I want to be with dog savvy adults only…people who understand me and can manage my quirkiness but also recognize and love my fabulous spirit and personality. I am one of a kind and very lovable! It will take some adjusting for me though when I move to my new furrever home: I’m very sensitive and can get sad, but not for too long. True love, patience and kindness and maybe some steak tips will make me very happy, and in turn I will be a unique and very engaging, amazing friend and canine companion…   If you’d like to find out more about me, call my foster-mom or my rescue in Texas…they’ll tell you even more fabulous things about me!  If you are interested in adopting any of our dogs, please complete our online adoption application:  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/31747/generic For more info, please email info@lifesaverssp.org OR visit our website: http://www.lifesaverssp.org/ We will conduct a phone interview, check references and then a home check. ARRIVING IN NEW ENGLAND  ADOPTER/FOSTER NEEDED - Currently in Texas Are you a hiker or all around outdoors person looking for a wing man? Do we have the perfect sidekick for you!  Meet Maverick. A dog who would love to hit the open trails or play fetch until your arm gets tired! He loves excitement and playtime but would equally enjoy downtime watching tv on the sofa. He loves his stuffed piggy and other toys too much to destroy them (so your slippers and other things are “probably” safe.) He does become excited when it’s dinner time that some have mistaken for aggression but his fosters have found it’s only because he has a voracious appetite for food. He is such a great loyal guy and is looking forward to having you fall in love with him while looking into his steel blue eyes. Maverick is a 1 - 1/2 yr old, male Husky mix and weighs approx 43 lbs. He is house/leash/crate trained. He is good with dogs his size or bigger. Maverick is in not good with small dogs.He prefers older children. Maverick has a lot of energy!
