1.17.2021 Canelo and Junior II are a bonded pair of males (father and son) ages 5 ½ and nearly 2 years. They are both brindle with white markings, and have natural ears and docked tails. Their owners purchased them from a breeder, but are unable to keep them safe. They live outside day and night. Canelo and Junior II are not neutered, and need most vaccinations, veterinary care, and heartworm prevention. They take no medications, and have no known medical conditions or disabilities.   Canelo and Junior II’s owner describes them as active, smart, playful and protective. Neither dog has ever shown any aggression toward people, but have not been trained not to jump on people. They do well with children and live with two children. Canelo and Junior II are not crate or house trained. They eat dry dog food and do fine when left alone. They do not jump fences, but will dig if left outside alone. They have escaped from the current owner's yard and have been picked up by animal services. Junior II loves running and playing with balls. Canelo is calm and less interested in play.  They both like riding in the car. Canelo and Junior would love to be adopted together by a family that will bring them inside to live where it is warm and safe. These beautiful boys need a secure home, training, veterinary care and human affection.  If you're interested in fostering, please fill out the Foster Application  http://austinboxerrescue.com/rehoming/adoption/foster/   If you're interested in adopting, please fill out the Adoption Application  http://austinboxerrescue.com/adoption-application/ Our volunteers will work with you to find the best dog for your home. show less

Claire is a fawn female with lots of flash. She is such a pretty girl! Claire is very friendly with everyone. She's a smart girl who knows her manners, but she can be rambunctious. Although Claire didn't get the attention she needed as a pup, much of her temperament is distinctly boxer. Boxers by nature tend to have a stubborn, self-confident personality, and that describes Claire almost perfectly. Claire is very friendly with all people. and in true boxer fashion she will test people to see what she can get away with. She needs consistency and patience by an owner who can harness her natural exuberance. She needs engagement and exercise – she would love a big yard and a tug toy. She is not an aggressive dog, but her foster says that she is still learning how to play with other dogs, even though she clearly wants to play. Claire has done well with a few well-socialized dogs in her previous shelter, and always greeted them eagerly, but she tends to overpower less dominant dogs. Claire’s foster believes that she also needs to be allowed to play and exercise – she would love a big yard and a tug toy! 4/1/2022 Czar is a loving 5 year old brindle male with natural ears and a docked tail. He is friendly, calm, protective, obedient and affectionate. He loves snuggling up in a lap, scratches on top of his head and tickles under his chin. He likes playing with soft toys and riding in the car. Czar has never shown aggression toward people. He does well with children, but does not live with children. He is house and crate trained. He does not jump fences or dig in the yard. He does fine and is calm when left alone in his crate. Czar is neutered and takes no medication. His right rear leg was injured long ago and has completely healed, but he limps. Veterinary examination indicates no remaining problem to be resolved. Czar was adopted last year into a home with a female boxer.  The dogs do not get along and both need to be only dogs. Czar would love a caring family with time to play and snuggle. 4/25/2022 Dallas is a lovable 7 year old white male with natural ears, a docked tail, and a dark brindle patch over one eye. He is friendly, active, playful and affectionate. He loves running, playing, his soccer ball and mostly affection from his people. Dallas is good with children and has lived with three children. He has never shown aggression toward people and likes to play with dogs. He is left outside all the time and is not yet house or crate trained, but he is anxious to learn how to be an inside family member. He does not jump fences, but he will dig if left outside unattended. Dallas does very well when left alone, but he is afraid of fireworks and not crazy about riding in the car. Dallas is neutered and takes no medication, but he has not been kept up-to-date on his veterinary care. His family can no longer care for him due to a move. Dallas needs a loving family to bring him into the house and help them learn how to be part of their family. He would do well in an active family with time to train, play and cuddle him.  If you're interested in fostering, please fill out the Foster Application  http://austinboxerrescue.com/rehoming/adoption/foster/   If you're interested in adopting, please fill out the Adoption Application  http://austinboxerrescue.com/adoption-application/ Our volunteers will work with you to find the best dog for your home. show less
