RJ is only about 25 lbs of Chihuahua mix cuteness with a happy personality. He will share his affection and would like to be your new little snugger and lap dog. He is happy to get belly rubs and be spoiled. He is gentle, sweet, and loves to get attention.   RJ has limited use of his front right leg due to an old injury. He does not appear to be in pain and gets along just fine. He enjoys running and playing in the yard with his foster sibling and takes short walks with his foster family. He is able to navigate stairs, but would do best with a one or two story home.    RJ gets along well with others dogs and would be happy with a furry sibling in his fur-ever home, but it is not required. RJ and his foster sibling play several times a day (~20 min or so each time) until they wear each other out and then both settle in for a nice long rest.  His forever home could be an apartment, condo or other place without a fenced yard. He does have a fence at his foster home as well as a doggie door, and he is perfectly comfortable coming and going.  He does enjoys being outside and going for his daily walks, and he walks nicely on a leash. After that, he is happy as a clam to hang out with you and be a good 'ole couch potato.   RJ loves to play with toys, too.  He shares them nicely and is a great little playmate.  He has just a fun personality.   This little guy has the benefit of already being house broken, is crate trained and sleeps through the night without any problems.  So many things that are wonderful about adopting a little bit older pup.  In addition, RJ seems to pick up on rules and expectations easily and does not push the limits. He is a good little fellow and is eager to please as well as easily redirected.   RJ is a little shy around strangers so his new family will need to give him time and patience to settle in during this transition period. In addition, RJ loves car rides and going with you places!  He doesn't love being a lone for long periods of time so someone who is home the majority of the time or that is happy to take him whereve they go would be the best type of family.   DOB 04/07/2018.  As part of RJ's $250 adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet boy, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt RJ, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org show less

Can I be your co-pilot, your wing man, your riding shot gun pal??   If you are a Lord of the Rings fan, this Sam is the Samwise to your Frodo! He is loyal, loving, and will stay by your side (once he warms up to you, of course)! Fall in love with Sam’s golden eyes and adorable cow-print! He has the most adorable profile smile that will melt your heart!   Sam is incredibly sweet and attentive to his people. He gives the best hugs and kisses. He can be a bit shy, but he warms up quickly to people when he realizes he is safe. Sam has a little bit of a hard time sharing attention, so he would prefer to be the only dog in your life. He wants ALL of your attention!  He gets along with other dogs, but on his terms. Sam does well with sharing toys with his foster siblings, but still needs proper supervision if redirection is needed.   Sam had a bit of a tough start at life and still needs reassurance that he is safe from his people sometimes. A yard with a 5ft tall fence would be best but not a deal breaker if his family is active and committed to several daily outings. Sam is learning leash manners and is doing really well. He likes to be reassured on his walks with a little head pat and positive reinforcement to help him know he is doing good! Sam is very attentive to his walker and loves lots of attention all of the time!   Like any new puppy he will need to learn boundaries and commands through positive reinforcement training and consistency. Sam goes out several times a day not just to play but for potty breaks; he is house trained. He is crate trained. He takes his meals in his crate as well as sleeps in it at night. Sam is responding well to positive reinforcement, but the best reward for Sam is LOVE!! He just wants a lot of attention!   DOB 11/25/2021. He is gaining weight and is about 35lbs currently; Bulldog mix. As part of Sam's $250 adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.  If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Sam, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. show less

(DOB 04/28/2022)  Will you play with me??? This little girl is as special as the City is she is named after!  Do you see the BUTTERFLY on her chest?? It is so adorable - just like her!  This sweetie is going to need lots of love and snuggle time!  Make sure your heart and home are ready for little kisses and soft snores.  Don't you want to be her cuddle partner?   She is an active, playful and energetic dog and is looking for a home with another dog in the home that can match her puppy energy level.   Since she is an adolescent girl still in training, a home where there is work from home, flexible work or school schedules or family members that stay at home are important is preferred.  She will need several potty breaks and playtime throughout the day.  Due to her puppy energy and exuberance that can accidentally knock down little kids, she would do best in a home with kids 8 years of age or older.   Can't wait to meet this little bundle of fur - then fill out an application to adopt! As part of Savannah's $275 adoption fee, she is spayed, microchipped, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.  If you have questions about this sweet little girl, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Savannah, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. show less

Scooby can't contain his smile because he hears you want to ADOPT HIM! "I'm all ears; ready to hear you say, we're adopting him!!" "Scooby dooby do!"  Who didn't love Scooby cartoons as a kid?  And you are gonna love this Scooby, too!  He gets a long with other dogs and his kitty foster siblings, too.  Scooby really prefers being with his family members so a home that has someone home the majority of the time is a great fit for Scooby.  He would make a great work from home partner. He doesn't require a fenced yard because he is pretty much a couch potato and likes to curl up in any of the available doggie beds.  He likes to be near his peeps but won't be on top of you.  He wouldn't make a great apartment pup though because he often has "something to say" and his bark may not be enjoyed the people next door.  He will bark at new people. He could be an only dog or live with a family with other pets...he's flexible! The nice thing about adopting an older dog is you don't have to work on a lot of the things you do with young puppies.  Scooby is already house trained, he isn't tearing up or chewing on things and is overall pretty chill.  He still has a little playful side (check out his video) and has the happiest smile that will warm your heart.  He is sweet and gentle boy that has an endearing personality.  He likes his stuffy toys and plays with them; it really is adorable. He likes sleeping on his doggie bed in the living room when his family is around. Scooby does not need to be crated; he is such a good boy!  He is working on loose leash walking and his new family can continue to be his positive lead and reinforcement.   Scooby has great Hound ears and those expressive eyes that just melt your heart!  He also has cool markings that accentuate his brows. Plus he big and loveable! He loves the car and would like to road trip with you wherever you go (except for the vet).  Like many pups Scooby doesn't love going to the vet and giving him some meds to calm and relax him is a good idea. DOB 03/22/2014. He is a hunk of Hound mis weighing in at 61lbs!  As part of Scooby's $250 adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet boy, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Scooby, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org show less

Togo always wears a smile on his face and he is loved by everyone he’s come across!  He is an easy going boy with a joyful personality.   Togo is an easy-to-please dog that would do well in multiple different types of home settings. He’d be fine with another dog or be just as happy as an only dog if his humans showed him enough attention or brought him to play at dog daycare. He is happy going on walks or running with people.  He does pretty well on leash and it helps to have him on an Easy Walk Harness to help from unwanted pulling. He also enjoys playing with other dogs and is a fan of doggie daycare.   Togo does not require a fence and because of that he could be a good pup for an apartment, condo, or townhome. He is already house trained and crate trained. He is a good boy!  He is a bit of velcro dog and LOVES to be around his people.  He is also a fan of cars and jumping in to go on a ride with you.   DOB 10/25/2020. He is a male Bulldog mix. As part of Togo's $300 adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.  If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Togo, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. show less

Tyson gonna knock you out with his amazing partially blind and totally loveable self!  Even if it makes him a little clumsy at times, it is very endearing. He still enjoys all normal activities liking going for walks with his furry siblings and romping and playing in the yard. Regardless of his special quality, he can get aroud quite well. His eye doctor thinks he can see shadows but not clear images.   BONUS: Tyson can't see that 50% of his adoption fee is being paid for by a kind sponsor but you can - only $125 to adopt sweet, special Typson! Are you one who roots for the underdog?    Tyson has a gentle soul and likes to snuggle up next to you.  Couch potato, lounger, dog bed crasher are all attributes he displays proudly!  While he may be a little bit on the lazy side, he is a great companion and LOVES to be around his people and loves to get pets and scratches.  He is a little shy/timid around new people but warms up to them in a quick minute.      He likes to follow his foster mom around the house while she talks to him, so he knows where she’s going.  When his foster mom is busy, he loves hanging around with his gal pal dog.  She unwittingly serves as his eyes and leads him around the house and yard.  He loves all the furry friends that come and go in his foster mom's house.   He enjoys being outside. A yard with a fence would be best for Tyson as it's easier for him than going on daily walks.  He prefers a quiet home as he gets nervous when there’s a lot going on.  Little kids are too unpredictable, loud, busy for his comfort, but he’s good with older kids/teenagers.  He could be adopted as an only dog or into a family with furry siblings, but admittedly, having at least one other  low-key, friendly dog is probably best.  No male dogs for him—he is a ladies’ man all the way. Staying in touch with his hound-y side, he is not a fan of cats either.   DOB 09/30/2016; 62lb hound mix.  Even though he is a little older, he still loves soft toys, squeaky toys, stuffed toys and he shares them easily.  He, also, loves meal time...yum yum!   Going on car rides with his family is a favorite activity.      He isn't perfect but he sure is close!  We are still working on fully house training and he does love to SMELL tasty food and counter surf and grab a tasty treat if it is close to the edge. He does well in his crate but doesn’t need one as he isn’t a mischievous boy.  So a family ready to continue working on consistency, routine, and proper boundaries with positive reinforcement training will be great for Tyson.   As part of Tyson's 50% reduced $125 (standard $250) adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet boy, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Tyson, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org show less
