I’m ready for my family!!!  I will make someone a great active companion for walking and other fun outdoor activities! I absolutely LOVE to ride in the car and go on adventures,  I do the cutesiest little chatter when I’m really excited. I’m still young, so I still have lots to learn!  And I really like positive reinforcement training and learning new things - I am quick study but like any puppy need continued practice. My ideal home would be one with a fenced in yard for me to run and explore.  I would love having another playful medium-large dog in the house, or going to doggie day care!  Aspen is best suited to an experienced person, someone to keep her busy and continue her training! She had some resource guarding as a small puppy so continued training would be perfect for her! She will not be adopted into a home with children. She is currently living with a cat, who is very submissive with dogs, but she does fixate on him. So either a home with no cats or a cat willing to stand their ground would be best. (DOB 2/20/21)  As part of Aspen's $275 adoption fee, she is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet girl, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Aspen, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org show less

Bruno goes to the office each day with his foster mom and furry sibling and settles right in!  Do you have a job you can take your dog with you to work, well Bruno is ready to "apply"!  To get to work, he is awesome in the car and loves to get right in and go.  He will be great motivation during your work day to get up and take a break, get some fresh air, and go for a walk. He would be a great ambassador for your office since he loves everyone he meets! He loves being outside.  Bruno could be an apartment pup and does not require a fence as long as his adoptive family is active and will get him out and about throughout the day.  Bruno doesn't want to be couped up or left alone all day (in the process of crate training)...that would be too boring for him. He is good on a leash and loves to go for daily walks.  Bruno likes playing with people and other pups. He enjoys playing fetch and will bring the ball back, tug-o-war, romping and running with 2-legged and 4-legged friends and playing with a variety of toys. So a family with other dogs would be nice.  He is polite and shares is toys nicely, too.  He is a happy boy with a joyful personality!  Bruno loves his people and is loyal...he promises to love you more than you love him!! Bruno is a bit of a ladies man or at least he seems to prefer them over men.  He loves being with his people and getting attention.  He likes to snuggle and be next to you but not necissarily on top of you. He never gets tired of love, attention, belly rubs and being petted. He has the cutest pink belly with spots!! He is well behaved and obediant.  He is treat motivated so continued positive reinforecment training will be good for Bruno.  Bruno loves meal time and gobble it up.  His drinking is a little sloppy but cute. Meet Bruno!  He is a 1.5-year-old, 65.5lb male Hound/Pit mix.  Bruno, unfortunately, was not on heartworm prevention and is heartworm positive. He can be adopted locally (within 1 hour of Wake Forest) so we can continue his heartworm treatmeant.  Our rescue will complete his heartworm treatment. As part of Bruno's $250 adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet boy, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Bruno, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org show less

(DOB 5/14/21)  Due to Cricket’s young age, she has not yet been spayed.  For this reason we are only considering local placement (within 1 hour drive time of Wake Forest NC).   As a hound/terrier mix, Cricket is a sweet, smart spunky girl.  She has a little mousy nose and the cutest ears--one flops over and one stands up. For such a little girl, she sure does live her life large! She doesn't let anything hold her back! She loves to play chase with her brother, she adores toys and is always happy to greet her people.  She has soooo much energy that she needs a solid fenced yard to open up in and run her zoomies.  Another playful dog in her home is a must to keep her and you both happy.  If no fenced yard, she needs an active family that is committed to walking her regularly. Too much idle time will lead to mischief. She is a smart cookie too. She is working on her sit command and pretty much has it down, but she is easily distracted and loses focus quickly. She has a cute protective bark when she hears or sees someone or something she isn't familiar with. It’s an endearing trademark but doesn’t make her a good apartment dog.  No cats for this girl either, they bring out her terrier spirit. She is a typical puppy in that she loves to play, play, play with toys, people and other pups. She will need a family ready to take on the puppy stages and keep her both entertained and using positive reinforcement training to build her social skills and boundaries.  She is in the process of losing her puppy teeth so chewing is a prime time activity.  Everything goes in her mouth—fingers, toes, nose—and play mouthing and nipping is constant, so she is looking for a home with kids 10 and older.  It also calls for you to keep your toys, shoes and cords out of her reach.   She is working hard on her potty training.  She prefers to go outside,  but she hasn't figured out how to signal when she needs to go--we are so close. The good news is that she is very good about going on the puppy pad indoors, but sometimes her aim is slightly off.  She has taken to the leash very easily, but she will still need to the leash training in her future.  All of these things are part of the fun pieces of having a puppy and helping them learn. Are you prepared for all the joy a puppy can bring as well as the dedication to give them the attention they deserve?  Then fill out an application. As part of Cricket’s $275 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.  In addition to the adoption fee, a $100 spay/neuter deposit is due at the time of adoption.  The deposit will be refunded once the puppy has been altered.  If you have questions about this puppy, you can email dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt her, you can fill in an online application for her under adoption profile on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. show less

This Wonder Woman, Destiny, is looking for her super hero family!  She has a big, happy infectious personality!  You meet her; you love her! She is all smiles, wiggles and just absolutely makes you smile! Did someone say POOL PARTTYYY?!?! Can you guess what Destiny's favorite summer activity is?  If playing in the pool is one of your family favorite past-times, you must meet Destiny.  She loves kids and other dogs so everyone can jump in together! Destiny is waiting for her forever mommy or daddy to show up and give her the kind of home and love she deserves. First, look at all her fun pictures. Have you ever seen such soulful, beautiful eyes? And coat – pure velvet!   Destiny says, "I'm almost 3 years old and I’ve learned all kinds of new things. My foster mommy says I’m an angel and I hear her tell her friends that I’m smart, catch on very fast, and listen to her really well. She loves me extra-special ‘cause I’m sweet and love to snuggle and play with her and the other dogs she has.  I get along with other dogs, big ones and little ones, plus I never potty in the house and go in/out of my crate when asked to. I am the best walking buddy you'll ever have – I don’t pull on my leash and I’ve learned to sit down when we stop for anything. I’ve learned to sit when mommy says and am learning to stay and recall. I’m very friendly too, and love to meet and play with kids and big people – everybody really. I love to play with cats, too, but they don’t like me so much – guess I’m bigger than they are and scare them, but I never growl at them – I just love to play! I’m about 64 lbs., mommy thinks this is the size I’ll stay – perfect, of course! I have very strong opinions on the proper habitat for my gorgeous self which involve a fenced yard for me to play in with another fur sibling, preferably about my same size or a little bigger and same energy level, an active mommy/daddy/family who will take me on walks and car rides and play with me, lots of tough toys, chew toys/bones, luxurious accommodations like your bed for me to sleep in, and a warm spot like your knee for me to rest my head and get snuggles and hugs every night. I love kids and do well with them when they are older so any kids 8 and up would be perfect playmates. (BTW, even though I like to sleep on the bed with my humans, I do great in my crate, too, as long as it’s comfortable.) I want a mommy or daddy of my own and would love a family, along with another dog to play with!! I also need a fenced back yard to really get my play on. Are you my forever mommy or daddy? If you think you might be, reach out to the good folks at Paws for life and you can talk to my foster mom to learn more about me, maybe meet me, so we can find out." My adoption fee is $250.  I am spayed, micro-chipped, and current on all age-appropriate vaccinations and monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventives. If you have any questions about me, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org or apply for me at www.pawsforlifenc.org. show less

This boy has a SMILE FOR DAYS!  Never have a bad day with Donnie's big, happy, infectious love in your life. Donnie is a big snuggle bug. If you need a kiss; Donnie can help! He loves his people and showering them with affection! He is so happy all of the time that his little Boxer-nub of a tail goes a mile a minute and makes his whole hind-end wiggle, wiggle, wiggle!  Donnie is a big boy but still wants to be a lap dog.  Missing his front leg only makes it easier to get closer to his people.  He does not let it slow him down.  AT.  ALL!  He loves playing with his foster family's dog and play with toys.  He is big but very gentle even with the littlest dogs in the home.  He likes to go for walks but is just as happy spending time at home.  With 3 legs, a little walk goes a long way for him.  Then he is ready to curl up next to you, snuggle and snore!  He LOVES being with his people! He will let you know when it is breakfast and dinner time.  He is a respectful eater and very treat motivated for training.  Donnie is a big boy but has done great with his foster siblings.  He was even a home with a tiny Yorkie and was so good.  He will probably need to be in a home with dog savvy kids, just based on his size and lack of care for personal space.  He neeeeeds to love you, immediately, without care of who or what he has to go over, through, or by! He does fine while home alone and is not crate trained from what we can tell. He is very smart and is doing well learning his commands. He would love a home where he could get snuggles and hugs and kisses all day, walks and a nice fenced back yard! Meet Donnie!  He is a 2-year-old, 65lb male Boxer mix. As part of Donnie's $250 adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet boy, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Donnie, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org show less

Drako is a bit of a couch potato and prefers being inside rather than out.  Are you more of an indoor vs outdoorsy person? He has a friendly personality and big smile to share. He enjoys hanging out with his people and loves everyone he meets!  He loves belly rubs and pets; who doens't love a little extra attention?!  He is big love and snuggler. Drako could fit into a family with other dogs or could be an only dog...he is happy either way.  He is confident and indepent so does not require a furry sibling.   He also loves car rides and would love hanging out with his humans when they are traveling.  He says, YES to road trips! Drako is still learning to be well mannered at all times. He can get excited and still jump up to greet you.  With his size, 65lb, he may not be best suited for smaller children.  He is also learning leash manners but will need continued practice and positive reinforcement training.  Drako prefers when he is outside to have a yard he can just run around and play in.  A quality 5ft fence so he can play, sunbath and enjoy the fresh air is how Drakp likes to spend his outdoor time. Drako likes other dogs but can be less friendly when meeting on leash.  Drako is not a fan of dog parks, so he will skip that activity. He is 3-years old.  As part of Drako's $250 adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet boy, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Drako, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org show less

#notserious - Jovial, cheerful, lighhearted - all words that are the opposite of serious - which is exactly what Dusty is - sweet, happy, loveable boy.  Don't let his serious expression fool you...he's a gem! He's great with other dogs, big or small plus he loves the kiddos!! Still a little bit rambunctious so bigger kids may be better. Dusty loves other dogs so much that he will need another dog in the home to do best.   Dusty is learning basic manners quickly and is smart/treat motivated. Check out his video while he SITS, CATCHES and do so with another pup right next time.  Watch me catch treats in the air!  What a fab-u-lous boy! Dusty is not a barker, so would fit into any size home or apartment life.... as long as there is lots of love!!  When left out of the crate, he very good and just lays down.  He does not get into anything!  Dusty is also great riding in the car.  So with all of his other great personality traits, he would be an awesome pup to take on adventures.  He would be great a destination dog - where you go; he goes too!  Like hitting the greenways & parks, restaurants or breweries, etc. with outdoor seating, Dusty would love to go with you and meet your friends. As part of Dusty's $250 adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. (DOB 07/15/2021)  Due to Ford's young age, he has not yet been neutered.  For this reason, we will consider local adoption only (within 1 hour drive time of Wake Forest NC).  Ford is an adorable little Terrier mix puppy.  He is about three months old, and we estimate that he will be about 20 - 30 lbs full grown. Ford is super cute and everyone that meets him thinks he is adorable.  He, in turn, loves everyone he meets.  He hasn't met cats yet. As a puppy, his adoptive family will need to work on all of the normal puppy things like house training, crate training, walking nicely on a leash, learning basic commands and building in struture and routine.  They will need to have plenty of time to dedicate to teaching proper chewing or teething on appropriate toys and treats.  Positive reinforcement training is a great way to continue to build skills and a loving and strong bond with Ford. In addition, the new family will need to have lots of time to play with Ford. Ford wants to get adopted with at least one of other playful dog in the house to continue to build his puppy manners and proper socialization skills.   Ford would likely be fine as an apartment pup as long as his new family ensured lots of play time, several walks and outdoor time daily.  Just so you know, there is no reason to leave Ford behind because he loves the car and will go anywhere with you! As part of Ford's $275 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.  If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Ford, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. show less

Jeorge loves walking his human siblings to school each morning; he would love a similar routine in his new home. Jeorge also lives with 2 female dogs and foster puppies, so he is learning a lot about socialization and living in a fun household.  He is on the shyer side, so an adopter willing to continue to take him for walks, introduce him to new people and new things is great way for him to socialize and continue to build his confidence. His ideal family would be one that would shower him with love, be patient and have lots of toys to play.  That said, he really only likes the ladies, so let's skip male dogs for Jeorge. He could be an only pup but having a sister sibling would likely be best. As far as cats go, we aren't sure yet as he hasn't had an opportunity to meet a kittie. Do you spend time in the car and want a traveling companion that won't "bark" orders on how to drive? Jeorge loves the car and is a road trip fanatic!  When not road trippin', Jeorge loves the outdoors. Jeorge is living w/a foster family that has 3 small kids and is well behaved around them. Jeorge is fine around strangers, but is still a bit shy/timid until they get to know new people.  Jeorge could be a good fit for apartment living as long as his new family makes sure he gets appropriate exercise, playtime, and walks.  He really does love being outside so make sure you take that into consideration. He loves the fenced yard of his fosters home and will spend hours outside enjoying nature. If you have a fence with 4-5 ft, that would be cool for Jeorge. As a sweet foster boy, Jeorge is playful, loves squeaker, soft & chew toys. He is food/treat motivated so learning new commands or tricks would be a great way to continue to build your relationship with Jeorge.  He is already crate trained and sleeps in his crate. Jorge is also a great "work from home compainion." He patiently sits in his kennel in the office and is so quiet when his human dad is working. He also loves a "foot massage" - check out his video and see if makes you chuckle a little! He is a 1.5-year-old, 35lb male Lab mix.  He is new to our rescue - we will update his bio as we learn more about this wonderful guy! As part of Jeorge's $250 adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet boy, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Jeorge, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. show less

Don't you want to add some JOY into your life?  She already knows how to “shake” and offers her paw frequently to say hello.  Her gentle, nurturing soul still shines through – just look into those beautiful brown eyes! This sweet fur baby needs someone who will cherish her and let her be the spoiled baby of the family for a change! Is that someone you? Ideal for a family with older children, she'd be the perfect companion for a family who wants a quiet, friendly pet with good house manners yet is still active and loves long walks, some gentle play time, then cuddling on the couch. (While we think she’d be gentle with young children, she would not likely enjoy a high-energy, noisy household where young children thrive.)  She loves playing with soft toys that squeak. She’s gentle, fully house-trained, has a high prey drive (what Retriever doesn’t?), and loves long walks, good back rubs, and lounging in the back yard to watch the squirrels. She is extremely responsive to training and already is learning good leash manners. She is also crate trained and sleeps there, quietly, all night. She would probably prefer sleeping on a nice, soft dog bed beside her human, too! Due to her prey drive, we are looking for an adopter who has a secure, fenced yard and who is experienced with dogs who have high prey drives. Also, no cats or other small animals in the home is advised.   A male dog would likely be her best type of companion as far as we can tell at this point. We think she would get along fine with another dog, as long as introductions are done appropriately and we will continue to monitor this with her foster mom’s other dogs. Apartment living would not be a good option for Joy as she so enjoys being outside in the back yard. Joy is a about 3-4 years old. As part of Joy's $250 adoption fee, she is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines, and monthly flea/tick and heart worm preventatives.  If you have questions, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Joy, you can fill in an online application for her here:  http://pawsforlifenc.org/pet-adoptions/apply-for-adoption/. show less

Khloey is always up for playing with humans or dogs as she has a lot young energy.  A home with a large fenced in yard is a must as she enjoys daily runs and the hound in her loves to run and play!   This girl is a very quick learner she understands sit, down, paw, stay, and come (watch video).  She loves to go for walks and is learning to not pull.   She is highly food motivated and her stomach prefers chicken and rice kibble. If you want a loving companion, you are home most of the time, you enjoy a quick learner who needs a bit more training, and are ready to create a forever bond, Khloey is your girl. Khloey does well with other dogs in the home if she can be the "one in charge."  She is a bit too interested in cats, so she will pass on homes with those silly kitties.  She would do best in a home knowledgeable dog owners and older kids.  She is a beautiful 2-year-old hound/terrier mix with long legs and a slender body. At about 30-35 lbs she has so much love and snuggles to offer.  She is house trained and crate trained and loves her beauty sleep.  As part of Khloey's $250 adoption fee, she is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet girl, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Khloey, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org show less

Meet this sweet, clumsy, goofy pup…I give you Manny!  BIG boy of 75 pounds with the most beautiful expressive eyes that matched the color of his coat. He loves to play and tussle with other dogs in the house. Manny would also love a fenced yard to run and play in!  He is learning that toys are fun, but he is often funny and uncoordinated trying to play with them…which is hilarious to watch. He is coming out of his shell more and more.  Manny has a fenced yard and he enjoys spending time in it; with his size a 5ft+ is needed.  He knows to potty outside and will need a family to take him out regular to continue his routine. He also enjoys laying outside on our deck just relaxing or watching the squirrels play. Manny would do well in a home where he has at least one other doggie playmate. I’m sure he would be fine with kids, but due to his sheer size I would not suggest small children (he doesn’t know his size and power so I have to be careful when he plays with Mr. Beans). He gets excited and paws and could unintentionally hurt him. He has not been tested with cats. Some things for Manny are still new and he is cautious. He is a diamond in the rough and will make an excellent companion for the person who can give him love and continue training and exposing him to new and unique situations while providing positive reinforcement. Curiously though he does fine when you sweep or run the vacuum cleaner. Do you have a large couch?  Love to see positive transformation? Like to be active, but then curl up on that big couch for a nice nap? If so…Mr. Manny could be just the big boy for you  Fill out an adoption application today at pawsforlifenc.org. Who needs a lunch date?  This well-behaved and well mannered girl would love to eat out with you! Marshmallow has enjoyed playtime at doggie day care and loves to chase and run around.  She would love her family to continue bringing her to day camp to hang out and play with her friends.  She is going to need a 6+foot solid fence to have a place to burn off energy.  Do you have a lot of energy? She would make an awesome walking or jogging partner.  She is is spirited, sparkly and spunky!  If you describe yourself similarly, then this girl may be your paw-fect match! She is very sweet and likes to snuggle up next to you as well.  She will give you kisses but isn't "in your face."  Older kids would be ok because of her size and enegry she may accidently knock over little ones. This girl is smart and listens well.  In the short time she has been in foster care, she already knows "Look", "Sit" and learning "Down".  She is learning loose leash walking but is easily distracted with things like kids running, squirels scurring, and she wants to run with them.  She is still learning to not pull on a leash and will need continued practice.  She is strong, so her adopter will need to work with her for consistency. She is a 5-year-old, 57lb female Shepherd mix.  Marshmallow has dewclaws so maybe she has some Great Pyrenees mixed in?  She has the best ears that stand at attention when she is focused on something.  The backs of them have cute black spots and it gives her some pizzazz!  She has the happiest and biggest smile that is contagious! As part of Marshmallow's $250 adoption fee, she is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.  Marshmallow is heartworm positive.  If you have questions about this sweet girl, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Marshmallow, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. show less

This little cuttie is gonna melt your heart when you get to meet her in person!  In the short time Missy has been with our rescue, she has already made a lot of friends!  When asked to describe Missy...it was SWEET, SWEET, SWEET! Missy has already been introduced to foster kitties and is cat friendly.  She will chase them if they run so dog savvy cats will be fine in the home.  Missy is flexible and could be an only dog or live with other dogs in the home.  She is pretty much happy all the time.  She enjoys doggie day care and playing with her furry friends there!  In the short time Missy has been with our rescue, she has already made a lot of friends!  If you do a bit of traveling, jump in the car regularly, or happen to just like going for joy rides, well Missy says, "take me along!"  She is a road trip fan and loves to go for car rides so load her up when you are ready to hit the road.  Little Missy is already house trained as well as crate trained.  We always recommend continued practice and routine when you adopt a pup.  A little bit of training goes a long way with dogs, and Missy will need to continue her loose leash walking positive reinforcement training as she still pulls on the leash. Missy does not require a fence as long as her adopters will commit to several daily walks to go potty and explore the world as well as a good amount of play time.  Because of this, Missy would also be a good fit for an apartment or condo living. Missy is a lap dog and likes to snuggle, so be ready to share your space with her!  She is happy to give you kisses, too.  She loves being cuddled, snuggled, and loved on!  Though she is crate trained, she likes to sleep in the bed with you. This little girl loves her toys!  She can be a little stingy and does not like to share them. She is known to hoard her toys and does not want to let other pups play with them.  Other than that, Missy has been an ovedient girl and has a sense of curiosity about her. She is a 2-year-old, 45lb female Bulldog mix. Missy hasn't had much exposure to little kids yet so as we know more we will update her bio. As part of Missy's $250 adoption fee, she is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet girl, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Missy, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. show less

Beautiful brindle boy!  I like snuggling and playing with my foster siblings. I would need a home with a dog sibling to play with. I’m good with other dogs, and I like the company of another dog. I am also good with cats.  Foster Dad calls me Murphy Clown because I’m goofy, and I make silly faces. My favorite face is where my tongue hangs out of the side of my mouth. My tongue has dark spots so it looks like I ate an ink pen. I’m grown but my Foster Mom keeps telling me I still need to learn to be a big dog. She thinks I act like a puppy. I know how to sit, wait and walk on a leash. I just have to be reminded not to jump on people when they come home. You see I get excited and sometimes forget. That is why I would be best off in a home where the kids are old enough to help remind me and not get mad when I forget. I’m trying but sometimes I get too excited then I’m all puppy in a grown dog’s body. I like to go on walks and I am great on a leash. I can get scared when the crazy loud trucks go by so I need to be reassured that the noisy thing will not get me. I’m also a little timid around some men. I warm up to them but my Dad will have to be understanding that some men just scare me. I totally love the ladies. Stranger or long time friend, I love them all as long as they are ladies. I’m fully house trained and I know how to use a doggie door. I have never had an accident in my foster home. I don’t even have to stay in a kennel when the humans are gone. I like to sleep in a dog bed and snuggle next to my Foster Parents. If you would like to love me forever and be loved forever please apply to be my family. My favorite time of the day is meal time! I’m a great eater. Who doesn't love a tasty meal?? He is about a year and a half old and has beautiful brindle markings. As part of Murphy's $250 adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet boy, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Murphy, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. show less

(DOB 7/20/2021) Due to Paddington’s young age, he has not yet been neutered.  For this reason, we are only considering local placement (within 1 hour drive time of Wake Forest NC).  Additionally, for socialization purposes, he is looking for a home with another gentle dog.   This little 10 lb terrier mix is as cute as a button.  He loves being around his people and he is super spunky and playful.   He is always on the move and looking for every opportunity to play, play, play.  As a puppy, chewing is a prime-time activity for him.  Everything goes in his mouth—fingers, toes, nose—and play mouthing and nipping is constant, so he is looking for a home with kids 10 and older.    Due to Paddington's petite size small children will not be a great fit for him.  He will be good with older kids/teenagers due to size/energy/playfulness.  He has a lot of puppy engery to burn off so a family that will run and play with him outside will be great.  He also likes playing with toys and a good ole game of tug-o-war.  He might be little but he believes he is mighty man!  A fenced yard isn't required but he loves to run around so it would be a bonus.  A fence would have to be solid due to his size.   We think Paddington would be a great agility pup.  Have you ever tried that kind of positive training?  It is so much fun for you and your dog.  He is very smart and loves to learn. He is food motivated so ongoing training will be perfect for Paddington.  He has endless energy and smarts to boot! He just got his second puppy shot and is now able to go outside, so he is just starting his potty training.  He is very good about going on the puppy pad. He is crate trained but will have accidents if not pottied often enough.  This goes for crate training as well; these are work in progress since he is still a puppy.  Another puppy piece are the treat puzzles that help entertain his body and mind and help keep him out of mischief. As part of Paddington’s $275 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.  In addition to the adoption fee, a $100 spay/neuter deposit is due at the time of adoption.  The deposit will be refunded once the puppy has been altered.  If you have questions about this puppy, you can email dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt him, you can fill in an online application for him under his adoption profile on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. show less

Patches has been to doggie daycare, and she does well with all the other dogs and humans.  Check out some of her fun pictures at doggie day care! Patches is also a good companion in the car and well behaved. Wanna grab a coffe and a Pup-o-chino or ice cream, Patches is happy to join you! Patches really enjoys the puppy pool so if you and your family like the water, she may really like hanging out with you at the lake, beach, pool etc. Bonus if she has a furry friend to play in the water with-how much FUN!  She has the biggest most infectious smile! She is good with other dogs and children but may be too rambunctious for children under 10 years of age due to her size. She has that happy puppy personality and is still working on her manners but she’s improving every day.  She knows the words No, Sit and Stay and is crate trained. She is a sweet girl and loves to cuddle and be loved.  She loves food and is very food motivated which is helpful for training purposes. She is very smart and a fast learner. She will sit patiently while you prepare her meals. As part of Patches's $250 adoption fee, she is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet girl, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Patches, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org show less

This girl is super sweet with a very playful, fun personality.   She can be shy at first but warms up quickly. Once she does, she’s so very sweet and loves to cuddle.  Miss Sadie is good with other dogs with proper introduction and with kids! She would do best with another high energy dog.  She would also be ok with dog savvy cats.  She loves to take care rides, especially when it involves a pup cup from Dairy Queen!  She is also an adorable little fashionista who likes to mix it up between being a girly-girl or tomboy, sporty or just your girl next door.  She is one smart pup too! She is working on house training, she is good on leash and listens well to commands like sit, stay and off.  She looks forward to a family that will continue to work with her on positive reinforcement basic training.  This girl is ready for a forever home and someone to love and call her family. Is it you?  She is a 2-year-old, 46lb female Pit/Beagle Terrier mix.  As part of Sadie's $250 adoption fee, she is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet girl, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Sadie, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org show less

Sky's personality lights up any place; maybe because she has the best facial expressions, wrinkling brow, doggie eyes and/or will daintly crossher paws!  She can lay it on thick and beleive me, you will fall for it!  She is a super sweet girl that everyone is just falling in love with!  She knows NO stranger!  She finds friends wherever she goes. She has been out and about and has enjoyed her car rides...sitting up on the way there and falling asleep in the backseat on the way home. She will make an excellent partner if you like to hit dog friendly places!  Just know, Sky may steal the show and get a lot more attention than you...ha ha! Kids, other dogs, and cats - Sky is friendly with all.  She lives with 4 dogs and 3 cats in her foster home.  Becuase of her size, exubuerent and happy personality, she may accidently knock over little ones so older children are likely best.  Her personality is such that she could be an only dog or have furry sibilings. Though Sky could be an only dog with her young age plus she loves playing with her furry siblings play group so another dog(s) would be best suited for Sky. Sky is a great little snuggler as well.  She loves affection and a good belly rub!  She enjoys time snuggling on the couch with you as well.  Having a bad day or moment, let Sky help you feel better quickly!  Sky would do best with a family that has a flexible work schedule or work from home and is home/not gone the majority of the day. She is a 9 month-old, 47lb female Pit mix and is already house trained and crate trained.  Sky has never had an accident and will go into her crate when the door is open to relax or sleep. She walks nicely on a leash as well.  Still very much puppy but already well on her way to being a well behaved doggo-o!  She needs a nice fenced yard (4ft-5ft) to run around and play in; she still has a lot of puppy energy to burn off.  Sky is used to being able to come and go through the dog doors and lets herself out when she has to potty.  The ideal home for Sky would be with someone/couple/family that has a flexible/remote work schedule, a fenced in yard, and at least one sibling.  An apartment would not be the best fit for Sky. As a puppy, Sky loves squeaker toys, chew toys, stuffed toys -- well any toys!  She loves to play so someone who wants to spend time "plaiyin' around", playing tug-o-war, or running around with  Sky would be great! As part of Sky's $250 adoption fee, she is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. Sky is heartworm negative.  If you have questions about this sweet girl, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Sky, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. show less

(DOB 08/05/2021) Due to S’mores' young age, she has not yet been spayed.  For this reason, we are only considering local placement (within 1 hour drive time of Wake Forest NC).  She is definitely "Pretty in Pink"!! S’mores is a unique and beautiful young girl with one blue eye and one brown eye.   Her momma is a white shepherd mix, but we think there is husky somewhere in the family line.  She loves being with people and getting loads of attention and being held and getting belly rubs and playing with toys. She is the biggest wiggle butt and gives kisses freely.  She loves everyone she meets, and she likes to talk when she is playing.  It’s the cutest thing now but won’t make her the best apartment dog as a big girl. Of her litter, she is the most confident personality and, dare I say, she’s usually at the front and center of any mischief.  The proverbial party girl looking to have fun, she loves to run and play with her sisters.   A securely fenced yard for her is a BIG plus.  If there is no fence, she will need an active family committed to taking her for multiple walks a day to get her energy out.  Additionally, she really loves playing with other dogs and will need to be adopted to a family with at least one other PLAYFUL dog to help get her energy out and show her how to “dog.”  In her puppy excitement, she is very mouthy/nippy, but she has done remarkably well with kids at adoption events.  Due to the nippiness, she is looking for a home with kids 8 and older. In a nutshell, she is a typical puppy in that she loves to play, play, play with toys, people and other pups. She will need a family ready to take on the puppy stages and keep her both entertained and using positive reinforcement training to build her social skills and boundaries. She is just now starting her house training and leash skills.  As part of S’mores' $275 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.  In addition to the adoption fee, a $100 spay/neuter deposit is due at the time of adoption.  The deposit will be refunded once the puppy has been altered. "Nothing but a hound dog" - an Elvis hit; maybe our hound Sue will be a hit for you?  Sue is very affectionate, loves to snuggle and stays close to her human. She has an adorable wrinkly furrowed brow. Sue also has a very unique one long ear and one without.  It makes her super cute! Sue has has been good with kids and teenagers. She loves their pets and kind attention!  She was the center of attention with a local Girl Scout group at a recent adoption event. Her tail never stops waggin' when people are giving her love and attention.  She loves everyone she meets.  She would do best with a family/person who has a flexible work schedule, works from home and can spend time going for daily walks and having time to play with her fur siblings. Sue needs a home with another dog so if you don't have another pup for her to hang out with, play with, and be with, this isn't the girl for you. Sue would just be unhappy without another playful in her life!  In addition, Sue's 1st foster home, she shared with 8 cats and was learning to respect them.  A home with dog savvy cats would likely be fine for Sue as long as the family is willing to be patient during the new period of introductions and boundary setting. She is motivated by tasty treats and is smart. We are working on manners and basic commands (sit, wait, down and leave it).  In addition, she is potty and crate trained. Sue is also good on a leash and likes going for walks.  She recently attended an event with lots of other people and dogs and had a great time!   A good yard with 4ft-5ft fencing is best for Sue.  She loves to run around a play with her furry friends.  Sue loves being outside for sure but dog parks are not for her.  Sue is familar with the doggie door and goes in and out to play and potty. Sue is still a little unsure of the car but once she is settles in she does fine and relaxes into the trip.  Sue is still young so having toys and other dog appropriate chew toys are still needed to keep her from chewing on "other things." As part of Sue's $250 adoption fee, she is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. Sue is a sweet 8-month-old (as of August 2021) 33-pound hound/boxer mix with plenty of love to give. If you have questions about this sweet girl, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Sue, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. show less

Tatum is day dreaming of a home with other fun and friendly pups. He loves other dogs, and it brings out his fabulous, fun and fantastic personality. At his age, he has a lot of playful energy. He is a pup that needs the ability to run and play with other dogs to burn excess energy. He loves being outside as much as possible playing with his furry friends. Tatum would love a family that would make sure he could attend doggie day camp. Tatum's best friend at day camp is Nemo and they romp and play together and have so much fun! Tatum has the cutest "tongue out" even when his mouth is closed.  His little pink tongue is often out just a little bit and makes him even that more adorable.  Please, watch his video (with sound up) when he is sleeping and SNORING with his bestie Nemo.  It really will melt your heart a bit! A yard with a solid 6 ft+ fence that he can run around with his furry siblings and stay safe is what he really wants.  He could be an apartment pup if his new family members would need to make sure they can get him and his siblings out several times a day to walk, jog, and play.  He is still a flight risk and needs to have a home with family that will be very aware of his souroundings and safety.   Overall he is a gentle and sweet boy likely coming from his more submissive/shy personality. He enjoys playing with toys, toys, toys! Tatum is still young, and it is great time to use positive reinforcement training to build his skills with loose leash walking (he still pulls some), house training and taking him out for breaks and walks and introducing him patiently to new sites, sounds, and things. He is already crate trained.   Tatum needs a family willing to be patient with him as he builds the same confidence he has with all dogs with people. He needs to learn trust and believe in humans as kind. You can see from his soulful eyes how sweet he is and you can tell from his pictures how happy he is; he wants that special family to understand how unique and special he is. He does the cutest head nod and downward dog when he is excited.  Tatum is going to make someone very happy as a very sweet and loving dog and will need time to adjust to any and all new people. Road tripin' is something new for Tatum.  Once on the road, he relaxes into the trip.   He is about 1.5 years old male and about 45 lbs.  As part of Tatum's $250 adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet boy, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Tatum, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org show less
