(DOB 04/03/2022)  Due to Victoria's young age, she has not yet been spayed.  For this reason, we are ONLY considering local placement (within 1 hour drive time of Wake Forest NC).  Victoria is a cute little girl that is looking for a family with another playful, young, and fun dog(s) in her new home.  As with all puppies, dog socialization is critical at this young age and another dog in the home will help her learn and grow up happy and confident.  She currently lives with other dogs, siblings and cats.  She loves playing with all of them.  If her new family has a dog-savvy kitty in the home that understands Victoria will likely run and chase in a playful way should be fine. No little children though; Victoria is still nippy and putting everything in her mouth - to include little children's fingers, toes and other body parts.  Older children (~10 years+) will be fine with proper adult supervision.   A fenced yard is not required but it is preferred so Victoria can get out a run and play with her furry friends in a safe area.  The fence should be solid and a minimum of 4-5 ft tall.  If her new family does not have a fenced yard, they must commit to 4-5 daily outings.  She loves being outside.  During this time, leash training should be practice since she is at a very young and formative age.  Other training is important during this time so Victoria will learn manners and boundaries...this inludes things like house breaking, crate training, basic commands like sit, down, off, stay, wait, look, etc.  All of these are important queues for puppies to learn young so they are well behaved young adults. Victoria loves playing with all kinds of toys; chewie ones, soft ones, squeaky ones and shares her toys with her siblings.  Someone who is home most of the day since she is young is important.  We don't want puppies crated for 8-10 hours while their family is at work.  An apartment, condo or townhome would be ok if her new family is committed to getting her outside often and she gets the appropriate energy out through walking, running and playing with friends. After a romp and run, Victoria will nap nicely in her playpen or crate.  She will curl up with her siblings for a nice break and then will be ready to repeat all over again. Remember, puppies require a lot of patience and understanding.  They have a lot to learn in this 1st year of life and her new family will need to understand that Victoria will need them to help her grow up confidently and happy.  Puppies make mistakes and have accidents and her new family will need to kind and gently correct her as she grows into a little lady.  As part of Victoria's $275 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.  If you have questions about this sweet little girl, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Victoria, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. show less

Aspen is very smart, gentle, and loving. She gets along with other playful dogs and would love another fun, furry sibling in her new home.  This girl is good with kids and dogs. She plays with her foster sibling who is 3 year old dog off and on most of the day. She loves toys of all kinds and has no problem "stealing" them from another pup!  Make sure to have a variety on hand for her to play with! Aspen does not require another pup in the home as long as her family makes sure to give her lots of love, attention and spends a lot of time with her playing and burning off energy. Give this girl a yard with a 5ft fall fence so she can run and play.  She loves the out-of-doors and has a fun time chasing any of those little creatures like rabbits, cats, squirrels or birds so if they find their way into the yard off she goes giving chase! She would much rather be in the yard then walking on a leash.  She hasn't tried to jump so a 5ft fence should be fine; she will dart at an open gate so keep those latches/doors secured at all times.  Aspen also loves the car so feel free to pack her up when you are on the go. She will be a great road trip companion. Plus she is good with strangers; just a little shy at first.  With some love and attention, her beautiful Aspen smile will greet everyone! She has the shiniest, black coat with the cutest ears that go this way and that. Plus, she has a lady swish, swag, just a little limp that makes her have the cutest little Aspen shuffle. She isn't quite crate trained at this time; she sleeps in a spare room and does fine.  She is already potty/house trained so no need to worry about that.  She uses a doggie door at ther foster house and let's herself out when she has to go.  Aspen requires a home that is within 1 hr of Wake Forest, NC. Aspen is Heartworm Positive (HW+) and will go through her medical care here; our rescue will pay for her treatment.   So what are you waiting for?  Aspen is just a perfect girl so wait no longer to fill out an application and get approved for adoption!  DOB 06/01/2019, Lab mix. As part of Aspen's $250 adoption fee, she is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet girl, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Aspen, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org show less

Baxter's cute underbite will make you smile! He has a great personality, and he can be describe as happy, energetic, and loves attention. He loves to be with his people and leans into you for a ear or neck rub! He is dog friendly and does best with bigger dogs. At his young age, another furry playful friend in the home would be best. He hasn't had an opportunity to be around kitties so he has not been cat tested.  As far as kids go, he is good with older kids/teenagers due to size/energy/playfulness. Baxter is social with people & dogs. Baxter is crate trained and house trained. Baxter sleeps all night in the crate and is quiet. Since he is still young, he goes out to potty every couple of hours to build his routine and ensure his success.  Someone who is gone for long periods of the day, would not be a great fit for Baxter and his age. He has a few road trips and seems to be fine and adjusting well to the world on wheels. In addition, he is doing well practicing on walking nicely on a leash! He is eager to please and is also easily redirected with positive reinforcement only training. He needs someone to spend time training him as he is still young and learning. He enjoys to be outside on a sunny day. In addiiton, he LOVES to play in the water so a doggy pool would be an ideal activity for him and his family to play in the back yard 💦! Baxter also loves chew toys to play with and he is sweet and shares toys easily.  He is also up for a good game of tug-o-war! Little Baxter could be in a condo, apartment or townhown; he does not require a fence. He does; however, require a family that would then commit to lots of daily walks, playtime and activities to burn off his energy.  Remember he loves being outside, so a family that enjoys the outdoors is best suited for him. At his age, he is high energy, so no couch potato for this cutie!  Baxter would do well with a family that has time to walk him a few times a day. He wants to spend time with his humans in the house but tends to be a bit overexcited running around and not setting down if doesn't get the appropriate outside energy burnt off and giving him lots of time for exercise. He would love to join your fun family.  He's DOB 01/22/2022, 35lb male Pug mix. As part of Baxter's $250 adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. Bentley is a happy boy. He is very independent and talkative. Like many little dogs, he has a BIG personality. So if you are ready for a lot charisma in a little body then mabye this little guy is right for you? When meeting new dogs, in general, he needs a little time to get to know them before they are buddies. Bentley is good with submissive dogs and will need to be adopted into a family with other furry, friendly four-legged family members. He would be an unhappy little guy with out doggie friends to live with so if you have a furry friend or two that would love another happy pup to join your gang, maybe Bentley is the one?!  Bentley enjoys car rides and will be happy to go whereever you go, so pack him up and take him along with you.  As you know, he won't take up too much space! He is a roadtrip fan! Bentley is leash trained and loves to be the leader on walks. He also loves toys of all kinds...soft, plush, squeaky, etc. so much so he can be a bit of toy hog. Make sure to load of the toy basket for this boy! He enjoys a fun game of fetch or tug-o-war as well.  He is just a fun, playful guy! Bentley is already house trained and crate trained, so check those two boxes of your list!  He goes outside 4-5 times a day for potty breaks and a little fresh air. He stays in his crate and sleeps while his foster mom is working and does fine. Speaking of the home, he does NOT require a fence so could be a good pup for a condo, townhouse or apartment. When outside, he wants his person to be outside with him. These are just some of the benefits of adopting an older dog; skipping some of the crazy puppyhood stages can be a nice change of pace. Bentley does have a few "habits" and can be greedy with his food, treats and toys. He will resource guard these things, so his person will need to be aware of this and know how to properly work with him on these behaviors. Bentley is a bit of greedy guy and will try and "grab and go" when his foster mom is eating. Therefore, he is in his crate during meal time.   This little guy needs proper introduction to strangers as he can be protective of his person, so that behavior will need to be monitored and redirected. Bentley is timid around strangers; he needs a little time to get to know them as he is a bit shy at first. Little people are not his thing so no children in Bentley's new fur-ever home. They are just too loud, too active, too much for his older years. He isn't really an attention seaker. He prefers to be near you but not necessarily on you. He loves attention when he wants it. He wants to be petted when he initiates it; but he lets you know when enough is enough. Bentley DOB is 08/05/2015; male Yorkie/Shih Tzu mix. As part of Bentley's $250 adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. Bowie - yep, after David Bowie, I just love his music and other music, too.  So, "if you like big dogs and you can not lie", you are gonna love me, I certain.   I love other dogs my size or bigger that have a lot of fun, positive, energy so we can play throughout the day.  I have 2 younger foster brothers that I love playing with in their big yard. We have a lot of room to run and every chance we get, we go to the stream and get wet and dirty.  So if you have a 5ft fenced in yard and at least one other dog that would love a playful, new brother, let me know!  I will definitely want to have furry friends in my fur-ever home! Some kids from the neighborhood rode by on the bikes last week, and I wanted to play with them, so I ran up to them.  They, too, looked like they were having a lot of fun - my favorite thing!  My foster mom introduced me to these new kids, and they are really cool. I was so excited to see them that I kept trying to jump on them to tell them HI! My foster Mom, was telling me that I am too big to jump on them, becuase I may accidently knock them down.  That's not what I was trying to do; I was just happy to meet them. I am just a one year old baby in a big boy body and learning how to contain all of my happy, go-lucky, big-smiling, energy can be a little difficult.  I am definitely working on that.  (No little kiddos, though do to my size and energy.)  I'm eager to please for sure and want to learn!!  Let me tell you some of the other things I dong.  I've also been learning how fun it is to hang out with my foster dad when he's in the woodshop. He drops pieces of wood on the floor that I pick up and take care of for him. I've been training with my foster mom to "COME" when called, SIT before going outside and LAYING DOWN when asked. She gives me treats (most of the time) when I listen to what she wants me to do.  Like lots of brothers, my foster brother gets me in trouble sometimes when he distracts me from coming back right away. I like to be with humans and other dogs.  So I really want a family who will have someone home most of the time. Or if you are on the go, that's fine to, I LOVE car rides, too, so pack me up and take me with you.  I am a great road trip companion.  I love everyone I meet and everyone thinks I am so adorable, so bring me with you, it'll be fun!  I am good on a leash too, but will pull if I see something exciting. Cats really fascinate me and so far, I haven't taken the hint from my foster kitties, that they don't really like me back.  Silly, kitties what's not to like?  So if you have cats make sure they are big dog savvy and can hold their own. I AM A CUDDLER and licker, so I am happy to share lots of love with you!  I will easily bring a smile to your face and "wash your worries" away with lots of kisses.  If you have room for me on your bed, I would love to lay with you at night, but I also don't mind just laying on my own bed in your room. can I come check out your place? I do have a few quirks, noone is perfect. I can be selfish with toys and food at times - working on that.  A family who will continue working with me and helping understand will be awesome.  I try really hard to be a very good boy. From Bowie himself, "I'm looking for my forever home. Don't get me wrong, I really love my foster family, they have been great. But they are only taking care of me temporary so that I don't have to be in the shelter.  Can you be my forever family??  Thanks for checking me out. I think you will agree I'm a very handsome guy and would make your family holiday photos so much better this year. Please contact my foster mom to come see me, I look forward to meeting you." DOB 6/29/21. He is a 57lb, Lab/Pit mix.As part of Bowie's $250 adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.  If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Bowie, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. show less

Calypso is a road trip fanatic!  She enjoys going for rides in the car whether it be in a seat, carseat, or floorboard; it makes no difference to her.  As long as she gets to go somewhere with you while the AC is blowing, she is a happy girl. Do you want a furry companion to pack up and go with you...then this little girl may be your paw-fect match! She is friendly with everyone she meets so wherever you go she will be an instanst hit - she knows no stranger. We really think she would do well as an agility or working dog as her energy level and smarts can definitely keep up with these kinds of activities. She is food and treat motivated so learning can be fun for her and you both. Calypso can be a little mouthy when she is bored and wants to play, so she is looking for an active new family.  So if you are looking to add a fun loving pup to your family, Calypso gets along with dogs and older kids/teenagers (due to size/energy/playfulness). Though a fenced yard and other playful dogs in the home aren't required it is probably BEST for Calypso to have both for her age and playfulness. She loves being outside and running around in the fenced yard and having a great time. Calypso can be a little mischievious if bored so burning up energy is the best way to keep her bright mind busy! Since a yard with a 5ft fence is best for her, an apartment, condo or townhome would not be a good fit for Calypso.  She also did great when cat tested.  Calypso is a loyal, loving, and energetic young pup who enjoys long walks, fast runs, chasing balls and playing with other dogs. She likes to get her zoomies out and then cuddle up with her humans and favorite toy. She is happy to share some kisses and just make your day! We are working on her leash manners and her new family would need to continue to build on this with positive reinforcement only training.  She can be slightly grabby for the leash when she is ready for a walk and you aren't. So get those walking shoes on for this fun little girl!  Her current daily routine is something like this; walk and feed in morning, walk and feed in evening, walk mid day walk and snuggling after walks/runs. Some of her favorite things to do are; tug-o-war, walking/running with family, playing with other dogs, car rides, playing with toys, going to doggie daycare but not dog parks. She will be 2 in October. Do you want to be the one that celebrates this special day with her? She is already house and crate trained and is such a sweet and good girl. She has not be cat tested. Calypso DOB 10/20/2020; 35lb, female Lab mix.  As part of Calypso's $250 adoption fee, she is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet girl, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Calypso, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org show less

Do you have a dog that needs another happy, playful, fun-loving and energic furry sister? She loves her pup friends at doggie daycare so a family with other playful and fun furry family members is a must. Desi really loves her furry friends and enjoys going on "double date" walks with them. Since she is on the shy side, another dog always gives her the boost of confidence she needs when she is out on walk. She is even playful on walks with her foster friends and it's just adorable to see. Cute head tilt and beautiful markings! Desiree is gorgeous and just absolutely stunning in person. She has the most gorgeous coloring and beautiful facial expressions. Her coat is silky soft, and she has velvty ears. She is a head turnner! Desiree loves to run and play and is silly with her stuffed toys. She is just a joy to be around and makes you smile! She has a slight shy personality with brand new people, but she will quickly warm up to you and steals your heart.  A family that will have safety measures in place for doors, on walks, and in a fenced yard until she settles in and is safe would be great! A solid, sturdy 6ft fence is needed for Desi. She loves being outside and playing in the yard with other dogs and people.  She is currently working on leash manners, so a family wanting to work on positive reinforcement training is important.  She likes going on walks with her furry friends, so grab a partner and take two! She has learned SIT but not DOWN or the "infamous" word NO; however she is treat motivated so that is always a great way to train!  Also, within the fenced yard working on recall training with treats as well.  When excited she jumps up so that we are working on with her.  She is very sweet and can definitely be a snuggler or lap dog and would like to cuddle with you on the sofa. She will lean in on you to give her some love and attention. She is crate trained and is working on potty training. She finds her crate to be a comfort zone.  Unless with her people, she is crated because she is still in a chewing phase and likes to find paper to tear up. We are introducing her to car rides and she loved going for a ride for fun things like a pup cup treat.  We beleive she will be a good companion in the car.  Since she feels safe in her crate, a travel crate may be a good option for her. Desiree has been treated for heartworms and will be retested by our rescue until then she will be local adoption within 1 hour radius of Wake Forest, NC. She is a 2-year-old, 45lb female Hound mix. As part of Desiree's $250 adoption fee, she is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet girl, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Desiree, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org show less

Are you looking for a sweet boy who LOVES his people?! Then look no further because Domino has arrived! He becomes the most energetic pup when you are around, and he smothers you in kisses. Once he calms down, you’re in for a good snuggle. His dark brown eyes just make you fall under his spell!  And if those don't do it, his amazing helicopter ears will transfix you! He walks on a leash like a pro and takes direction very well. Being crated is already a part of his routine which makes the process a breeze. Make sure to reward him with a treat every now and then 😉! He is the perfect addition to your family that you didn’t know was missing. Domino has typical puppy energy and loves to chase balls, play with toys and his stuffed bear. He will need a dog sibling or two that can match his energy in his life to help him corral his puppy energy and attitude.  Domino is cat friendly especially with dog-savvy cat(s), but he will likely learn quickly what a non-dog-savvy kittie(s) boundaries are since he is a quick learner. In addition, Domino’s new family will want to be ready for the time commitment of a puppy; he needs quality play time, teaching and training time, introducing him to new and different places and activities, so he can continue growing into a well adjusted, confident, and well mannered young adult. Domino loves to learn especially when treats are involved and making it a game with lots of love and positive reinforcement is fun for him! Like all puppies, Domino is teething and learning bite inhibition, so if their are children in the home, they should be no younger than 8 years of age.  Remember puppies put everything in their mouths which includes kids fingers and toes, so very young children are not a good fit for equally young puppies.  The family will need to show Domino what he can and should not be chewing on and redirect him to appropriate teething and chew toys. He does love all kinds of toys and swapping them out and giving him new or different ones are good for his budding puppy brain! This little guy has been good with new people and other dogs. He is a friendly, happy go lucky guy and ready to hang out with you wherever you are. He is good in the car and wants to be close to you so if you don't want him helping you drive, you probably should get a doggie car seat or travel crate. He loves attention and sweet petting and rubbing from anyone that wants to share some love. Domino is well on his way to potty training. His new family will just need to continue a regular routine with him and take him out to potty regularly. He loves going on walks with his family and is good on a leash. A fenced yard isn't a 100% required; however it would be preferred so he could play with his new furry siblings. If there is a fence it must be 5ft tall and solid. His thin frame allows him to get through slotted fencing. We would consider apartment/condo lifestyle as long as his family gets him out mutliple times a day to burn off energy. At night he sleeps soundly in his crate and is a good little sleeper.  (DOB 02/28/2022)  Due to Domino's young age, he has not yet been neutered.  For this reason, we are only considering local placement (within 1 hour drive time of Wake Forest NC).    As part of Domino's $275 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.  If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Domino, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. show less

Three-legged wonder boy!  Donnie has a SMILE FOR DAYS!  Never have a bad day with Donnie's big, happy, infectious love in your life. Donnie is a big snuggle bug. If you need a kiss; Donnie can help! He loves his people and showering them with affection! He is so happy all of the time that his little Boxer-nub of a tail goes a mile a minute and makes his whole hind-end wiggle, wiggle, wiggle!  Donnie is a big boy but still wants to be a lap dog. Sweet Donnie boy is special needs, but don't tell him that, he has no idea! Donnie lost his leg due to a large mast cell tumor that was wrapped around his elbow. Mast  Cell Tumors are cancerous lumps, his wonderful vet team had taken some additional tumors off other areas as well.  We seemed to be keeping them at bay, but a few others have popped up. We are continuing the treatment regime the doctor has suggested and looking at other alternatives for him.  So, if adopted he will need additional care for the rest of his life.  This sweet boy is personality plus, bubbly handsome and sweet as can be, he drew a bad straw in the genetic lottery but he knows his forever family is still out there waiting. If you have additional questions feel free to ask. Donnie says missing his front leg only makes it easier to get closer to his people.  He does not let it slow him down.  AT.  ALL!  He loves playing with his foster family's dog and play with toys.  He is big but very gentle even with the littlest dogs in the home.  He likes to go for walks but is just as happy spending time at home.  With 3 legs, a little walk goes a long way for him.  Then he is ready to curl up next to you, snuggle and snore!  He LOVES being with his people! He will let you know when it is breakfast and dinner time.  He is a respectful eater and very treat motivated for training.  Donnie is a big boy but has done great with his foster siblings.  He was even a home with a tiny Yorkie and was so good.  He will probably need to be in a home with dog savvy kids, just based on his size and lack of care for personal space.  He neeeeeds to love you, immediately, without care of who or what he has to go over, through, or by! He does fine while home alone and is not crate trained from what we can tell. He is very smart and is doing well learning his commands. He would love a home where he could get snuggles and hugs and kisses all day, walks and a nice fenced back yard! He is a 2-year-old, 65lb male Boxer mix. As part of Donnie's $250 adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet boy, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Donnie, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org for additional info on his Special Needs contact Laura at laurap@pawsforlifenc.org   show less

Elvis needs to be in a home with another happy, friendly pup.  He's a bit timid but trusting and another doggie sibling will help him continue to build his confidence.  Sweet Elvis is already crate and house trained, too!  He sleeps in his foster's bedroom in a crate and does just fine. He is well behaved at dinner time and his foster family have taught him well; he has great manners! Elvis has a lot of energy and will require a solid 6ft or taller fence.  He can be an escape artist so will need to have safety measures in place in the yard and in the home, so no little ones accidently leaving doors wide open, etc.  He likes running and playing in the large fenced backyard of his foster family.  He has 2 furry foster siblings to romp around with whenever he wants.  He likes a good game of tug-o-war. He likes his daily mile hike and is still working on leash manners. Elvis is smart and submissive and positive reinforcement training opportunities are a great way to build your relationship.  He LOVES riding in the car so pack him up and take him with you wherever you go; he loves a good road trip! He is a 1 year old, Boxer/Hound mix. As part of Elvis' $250 adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet boy, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Elvis, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org show less

(DOB 04/03/2022)  Due to Gypsy Rose Lee's young age, she has not yet been spayed.  For this reason, we are ONLY considering local placement (within 1 hour drive time of Wake Forest NC).  Gypsy Rose is a funny, sweet, entertaining and energetic little lady. She loves being outside, running, chewing on sticks or chasing her older siblings or playing with her litter mates.  We will REQUIRE another dog in the home that can match her puppy energy as well as continue to build proper doggie socialization skills.  She is growing up with cats but will chase them since she thinks they want to play, so a dog savvy cat family would be fine. Like all puppies it is time for teething and learning bite inhibition.  Because of that, a family with older children will be ok but no little ones.  Gypsy still nips and chews on everything and that would include small childrens fingers, toes, etc.  To keep her busy doing "the right things" her new family should commit to walking Gyspy regularly on a leash so she will learn proper leash manners.  In addition, lots of play time with all kinds of different toys, tug of war, and teething toys will be needed to keep her mind and body active. Gypsy Rose is looking for a family/person who understands puppyhood is work and she needs lots of love and will be patient with her as she grows and learns.  She is constantly learning and will require gentle, positive reinforcement training and correction as she grows into a young adult.  At her age, she is not yet housebroken and that will be something her new family will need to continue to work to ensure lots of outdoor potty breaks throughout the day.  She is are adorable, smart and has a lot of energy. Gypsy does sleep in her playpen or crate with her siblings and is a good little napper after some rough housing and romping in the yard.  A solid fenced yard to run and play is preferred for this little cutie and it should be 4-5ft tall minimum height without gaps.  If no fence, her new peeps will need to ensure 4-5 daily outings for walks, play and running around.  Gypsy Rose could be in an apartment, condo or townhome with the right family. As part of Gypsy Rose Lee's $275 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.  If you have questions about this sweet little girl, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Gypsy Rose Lee, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. show less

This is a big boy with an equally big smile!  He loves being with his people and spending some good quality time couch chillin'.  He is quite couch potato and happy to just chill out and watch TV, read a book, or take a nice nap with you.  Harley has a very good personality, he loves attention then is good to hang out on the sofa or dog bed. He makes a great partner. He is house trained as long as his family takes him out regularly. He isn't really crate trained...just FYI on that but he doesn't really need to be crated.  He will hang out in the living room with his foster brother and is a well behaved.  He has good leash manners and walks easily without pulling you around.  He also loves car rides and going for a road trip, so pack him up with you and GO!  He does have a bit of separtion anxiety so having a happy home with people who either work from home, and/or are home more often than not, is the kind of family Harley is looking for. He is good in the car so instead of leaving him at home...take him with you. He will be the star of any place you go. Harley is a sweet boy with a great big smile.  He has started to chase his foster kittie some in a playful way. We haven't had an opportunity to have Harley meet the wee-ones since he is new to our rescue so we are unsure about the kiddos at this time.  Harley definitely wants another friendly dog friend in the home, so make sure you have another dog friend for him!  His confidence is better and he is happier with a furry sibling to hang out with each day.  He loves everyone he has meet. This handsome with the cutest little nub of a tail and his whole hind end wiggles when he is happy!  He does NOT require a fence because he is happy to hang out inside with you.  He could be a good apartment, condo or townhome pup as long as his family took him out a several times a day for a good walk and potty breaks.  Harley's DOB is 06/01/2013, and he is a 67lb. male, Lab/Hound mix. As part of Harley's $250 adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. Jones is young, sweet and playful!  He is also very energetic so needs a family to match his exuberiance for life. The ideal home would be with an active, loving family with at least one other young or playful dog. He is great at going to dog friendly events or locations. He loves going out and about and is a road trip fanatic.  He likes being at breweries, outdoor dining places, etc. to meet people and other dogs.  Do you have a dog with a lot of energy that NEEDS a fur sibling then look no further than Jones. He loves other dogs and absolutely needs another playmate.  A big fenced yard 5ft+ is best suited so they can run, romp and just be dsog.  He is also a fan of doggie day camp. He is a social dynamo and is sweet and affectionate.  He loves attention and being with his people for love and snuggles.  He loves loves to play with all kinds of toys so make sure to have plenty on hand and a good variety - soft, squeaky, chewy, and will share toys easily.   Jones is also cat and kid friendly.  Due to his size and age, older/bigger kids are probably best.  He is still a little nippy and is a bit timid so can be a flight risk, so his family would need to make sure all safety precautions are in place for him.  With his size and frame, he is also the cutest kind of clumsy.  He will absolutely endear himself to you! We would consider an apartment as long as his new family will ensure he gets tons of exercise and attention. He is already crate trained and sleeps well through the night as long as he has had an active and fun day to burn off his energy.  He eats his meals in his crate as well.  He is, also, house trained.  His current routine is to go out early in the morning and then about 6 times a day for potty breaks and play time.   Jones, also, appears to love the camera and is a bit of a ham.  So make sure to have your smart phone with you to capture all of his cuteness!!  Any family will be lucky to have him!  He is a very, happy boy!   DOB 03/14/2022. He is a 30lb male Shepherd mix. As part of Jones' $250 adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. This sweet boy would like a home where he could be with someone who is home most of the time or would take him with them most places. He wants a person who will take him on walks several times a day.  Kai loves to go on walks around the neighborhood. He always wants to be with his person throughout the day and prefers to sleep in the bed with you at night!! You can describe Kai as a snuggler, a lap dog/velcro dog that is a loyal companion. He loves to get pets and loves belly rubs. He goes out to potty 4+ times a day, and we are working on his house training. His family will need to continue a regular routine with him to ensure his success.  Kai would not make a good condo or apartment pup as he requires a fenced in yard. He likes being able to roam in the backyard during the day; he really enjoys being outside quite a bit, so his family would need to make sure to spend quality time with him each day in the fresh air.  The fence must be solid panel fencing or have very narrow spacing due to his size and would need to be 4ft tall.  In addition, a home without small kids; they are just a "too much" for him. A home with older, quieter kids that are familar with proper dog behavior would be fine. Kai is cat friendly so a home with dog friendly kittes will be fine. Kai does not live in a home with other dogs, but he would be fine with dogs as long as they are friendly. Kai would prefer to have all the attention, he really doesn't play with other dogs although he is dog friendly   Kai is learning about traveling in the car.  Right now he is a little scared at the onset but settles and relaxes into the trip.  When out and about it is a good time for him to continue his leash manners.  Kai does have some resource guarding of food, treats and people. This behavior can be handled and modified with the right types of positive reinforcement training and consistency. Kai is a 9lb male Papillion mix and is approximately 5 yrs old. As part of Kai's $250 adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. Kodak is a sweet boy. He will put his front legs on you for attention and pets but will not get up in your lap. Reach down to pet him and he will allow you to pet him but he remains on guard. This guy needs a home with a 5ft or taller fence so he can run, play and have fun with his 4-legged family members!!! He is a bit on the shy side and other dogs help with his confidence. This handsome fellow is looking for a home with another furry sibling to play and hang out with.  After a play date, he is happy to chill out indoors. He is a good companion and already crate and house trained. He sleeps comfortably through the night in his crate.  He likes to chill out and take an afternoon siesta in his big doggy bed. With is shy personality, if you walk into the room he may shy away at first, so give him some time. He just wants love and trust. He is good on a leash as well. No condo, apartment or townhome because he is a bit of a talker. Kodak does get vocal at times, especially at meal times or when ever the mood hits him. He makes the funniest noises. We think you will see how cute it is; we certainly do. He is a good protector of the home and bit wary of strangers, so give him a little time to warm up to new people. He would like a home with a family that is kinda calm and chill like him; too much activity makes him a nervous so a quiter home will be best for him. Teenage kids and not young children if there are kids in the family. He likes to be able to see you while he is eating and not be "sneaked up upon." Kodak's DOB is 02/28/2021. As part of Kodak's $250 adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. Lady is a sweetheart and just a lover to the bone. She is very sweet, fun loving, and super affectionate. She is gentle and isn't going to shy away from giving you some kisses and love.  She loves affection and attention from anyone and is good with people she knows and strangers as well. She is also good with children. She is energetic and loves to be outside. Lady loves to play, so an active family would be best for her.  She is very athletic and can easily jump a 5 ft fence, so she is looking for a home with a nice 6ft fenced in yard. She loves running around and doing her zoomies. Another doggy playmate would also be great for her that would match her energy level; however, she does great as an only dog as well.  She would just need her people to keep her entertained.  She does well at the dog park, so taking her there or going to doggie day care would be fun for her. After a good energetic run or play, Lady loves to just lay on the couch or floor and nap away. We are working on her leash manners and her new family would need to continue to build on this. Lady is a strong and loves to chase little critters like squirrels, birds, or bunnies which can distract her from the walk. She goes on about 3 walks a day so there is plenty of practice time. Lady is also working on some basic training as well. She is learning what "no" means, as well as sit and come. She is learning each nicely. Lady takes some time to warm up to toys, but still does love having them around. Her favorites are bones. Lady will chew on a bone to her hearts content (and it takes up quite a bit of her attention as well). When given the opportunity, she may find some tasty morsals on the counter so watch her and let her know counter surfing is frowned upon in this home. She even has a "third eye" between her masked face!  She has the coolest markings and super cute, perky ears. She is just adorable in person! Lady does have separation anxiety and she will jump/climb over doggy gate to reach her foster family.  Her new family can work on slowly, slowly rewarding her with short intervals of leaving the room and coming back, etc. On a super, positive note she is a road trip fanatic and loves the car so instead of leaving her at home (which she doesn't love anyway) just bring her with you! It's a win-win!! Some of the benefits of not adopting a young puppy are thing like Lady is already house trained so no accidents to worry about and crate trained as well.  Will you let this Lady in your heart? Lady DOB is 07/07/2019, 44lb female Hound mix. As part of Lady's $250 adoption fee, she is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.   This "little" fire cracker of a girl is full of happiness and enthusiasm for life. It radiates all over her face with the best, goofy smile. She loves to play. When she gets tired, the couch and TV are good for her, so sit down and take a load off with her. She is quite the gem and so funny! This girl will quickly steal your a place in your heart! She likes to snuggle with her family and prefers to be near you but not on top of you. She is happy to give you some much needed love and attention after a hard day to include kisses and licks of love.  Ladybug could be an only dog as long as her family made sure to give her lots of attention, several daily walks and lots of playtime. Otherwise another large dog will need to be in her new family.  She needs a confident dog because she can be a bit bossy at the time. Ladybug needs a very active home or a large fenced in yard so she can run. There is nothing more fun for Ladybug than chasing another dog or even her human around the backyard! If the home has a fence it needs to be 6ft+ to keep her safely contained. No kitties for this girl; she wants to "play" with them way too much. As far as children, good with older kids/teenagers due to size/energy/playfulness.  The benefits of not adopting a young puppy...Ladybug is already house trained and crate trained. So check both of those things off your list of things to teach her.  She is very smart and in a short time has already learned a few simple commands. She does need more leash training so a family that will work with positive reinforcement training on her daily strolls will be needed. She a little shy/timid with new people and is fine once she has some time to get to know them. Just know to be a little patient at 1st introductions. By nature, she is really gentle and sweet and just wants to be loved and spoiled. So please take the time daily to give her lots of attention becuase she loves to get pets and a good ole belly rub. It would be nice if her people would take her places as she loves to be with her people. She is a little nervous at the onset of a drive but settles in quickly. She is a 61lb Bulldog mix. Part of Ladybug's $250 adoption fee, she is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. Leera is ready to catch a ride to her forever home! Leera is a super cute Bulldog mix puppy. Like all puppies, she is still very mouthy and that means anything she can put her little mouth on.  So little children are not a great fit for little puppies; however, older children will be fine.  She is currently living with other foster dogs and loves to play with them. A fenced yard is needed so she has a safe place to run around and burn off all of her fun puppy energy. Leera loves all kinds of toys and a family that wants to play and have a lot of fun is what Leera is looking for; she will need lots of ways to burn her puppy energy. Leera loves everyone she meets and she is a little favorite when she meets anyone knew. She doesn't no what the word stranger means. She has the cutest forehead wrinkles and head tilt when you talk to her. She is doing well with her house training and her daily routine of going out every 3-4 hours is something her new family will need to be prepared to properly work through this with her; being gone all day will not work for Leera.  She is crate trained, and she sleeps in it at night.  She will also need to learn basic manners and behavior through positive reinforcement training.  A puppy with consistency and routine grow into happier and more confident pups. Leera grew up from a very young age with cats; however, still finds them too fun to chase. So either a home without cats or a very dog savvy cat household would likely work. As part of Leera's $275 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.  If you have questions about this sweet little girl, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Leera, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. show less

Lexus is a sweet dog who will melt the heart of an animal lover.  Lexus has the sweetest demeanor, loves to be with people and her roommate Max.  She is a complete snuggle bug once she gets to know you, and is not shy with kisses.  She ready to give you all her love.  Lexus would prefer a home where her humans aren't gone all day for work or school.  She would miss you too much during that time.  Lexus can be in a home with older kids/teenagers becuase little kids are a bit too unpredictable, loud, and busy for her comfort.  Lexus is little shy/timid around new people and will warm up new people with a bit of time.  Lexus would be fine as an only dog or with other happy, fun pups in the home.  Lexus would do best in a home other dog friends and with active human parents who have dog experience and are patient with her shyness. (Her shyness is more with men than women.) This girl loves all kinds of toys - squeaker, chew and stuffed ones and shares toys easily. "Girls just wanna have fun!!"   You will be happy to know she is already house broken and crate trained.  She has adjusted to her crate, is fine being left out of her crate, can go over eight hours with no problems and is proud of keeping her spot clean.  She has mastered the doggie door at her foster home and likes going out side.  Lexus requires a 5ft fence; she loves being outside.  An apartment, condo or townhome would not be optimal for sweet Lexus since a fenced yard is needed for her. When you take her for a walk she will take her time to potty on leash so don't be in a super rush.  Lexus does need help getting in and out of the car as she is a bit nervous of vehicles, but once she is in, she will ride with you anywhere. No kitties in the home for Lexus; she wants to badly to chase and catch them.   As part of Lexus' $250 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.  If you have questions about this sweet girl, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Lexus, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. show less

With other pups she is the submissive one. She will also become your little shadow so be ready for a new bestie! She is a sweet girl albeit a little timid to start. When she warms up, she is gentle, sweet, and happy.  Louise needs a little time with strangers and will be a little shy at first, and then she will warm up to them. She does loves attention so be ready to spoil this little girl with lots of pets and love! Belly rubs are always welcomed.  Louise is learning to live with the resident cat, so a home with dog-savvy cats will likely work fine. She is looking for a home without children.  When out on walks Louise pulls on her leash and needs more positive reinforcement training to build good leash manners. This is something her foster family is working on her with slowly and with patience. Luna is the happiest girl when she sees you and thrives being around people. Luna will fill your life with lots of loves, cuddles and an endless amount of fun. Luna also loves car rides and wants to ride with you, so if you want a travel partner Luna could be your co-pilot. She does like to jump up and down because she is so excited. She then settles in and calms down. She is extremely smart and very motivated by food and can sit, stay, shake paws, and turn around. She is well behaved at feeding time, and she will sit and wait next to the bowl until you tell her she can eat. She is a loyal dog and listens VERY well when you tell her to come.  Luna loves every person she meets and will be a great addition as a single pup household. This includes a family with older/teenage kids, and this is only due to her energy and exuberiance. Her energy may accidently knock down a little one. She is good with children just may be too energic for small children. This girl needs a 5ft fenced yard, so she can run around and play...burn off some of that playful energy.  Does your yard have a pool, too? Well, Luna likes swimming along with other games like fetch, tug-o-war, and playing with toys and chasing balls is her favorite game! Luna is a high energy and very loving dog! She enjoys going for walks, jogs or running with her family. She has pretty good leash manners. She does well on a leash with a little pulling and is only fussy if another dogs starts barking at her. After any outing or playtime she wants someone who loves cuddle and snuglge time! Luna is super loving and loyal. She craves attention and loves being next to you. She is a huge snuggle bug, so she definitely wants a person to love her unconditionally. She loves belly rubs so get ready to share your love. You know some of the great things about adopting an older pup like...she is already house trained, already crate trained and so you skip all of those "crazy" puppy stage training activities. She does not need to be crated; she is left out in the home and does not bother or destroy anything. She does have some seperation anxiety; however, she can be left for several hours without issue. If you work from home, she would love that. Luna does resource guard food/treats with other dogs and and people; resource guarding can be properly managed and can be improved upon. Currently she uses a slow feeder for her meals and waits politely until she is told it is time to chow down. She is a 4 year old, 51lb., Pointer/Terrier mix. As part of Luna's $250 adoption fee, she is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet girl, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Luna, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org show less

Noli is very social with people so meeting the neighbors while out walking or running will be fun for her, she loves attention.  She literally loves everyone she meets, including children, and always has a smile to share. She does jump a little when she first sees you and we are working on that, so little children she may accidently knock down. She does know SIT and will sit when you tell her to get her pets. A yard with a 5ft+ fence would be ideal and  she could run, play, romp and just have a great time would also be awesome! She loves to get the zoomies and run circles in the yard, she has the biggest grin on her face while doing it.  She loves all kinds of toys - squeaky, chewy, stuffed so a family that wants a playful and happy pup, should meet Noli.   Noli is house trained and crate trained so you skip the craziness of puppyhood which, let's be honest, is a great bonus!  This sweet lady does not like sharing her food or toys with other pups so a being an only dog in the home is best for Noli.  She loves everybody she meets and and greets them with the famous Noli SMILE.  She is ready to share her big love with a person(s) who want to be her center of attention.  You will never be lonely again! Noli's DOB (11/06/2020).  As part of Noli's $125 (50% off) adoption fee, microchipped, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.  If you have questions about this sweet girl, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Noli, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. show less
