Estimated Birthdate - June 16, 2016. Moxie and her three kittens (Lucy, Bloomer and Roo) were brought to the shelter as strays. Moxie was very thin, weak and ill. Through it all, she still managed to take excellent care of her kittens, and remained sweet as pie! Moxie means "force of character; courage and determination". And so she was named, because this girl has all of that in abundance! Paws for Life rescued the entire family and gave Moxie the medical care she needed, so she could regain her health and raise her kittens in a safe, calm environment. Moxie is doing great, and now that her kittens are ready for homes of their own, Moxie is looking for her new family as well! If you're looking for an absolute sweetheart of a kitty who will stay small and kitten-like, Moxie is your gal! She's very petite, at just over seven pounds, full grown. She's a beautiful tabby cat with silky fur, peach colored striping, and wide eyes the most beautiful color of soft green. Moxie has been extremely affectionate with people from the very first day, so she most likely had a home at some point. She's an old soul, very sweet and gentle. She is quick to greet and rub on people, and enjoys attention. She has a soft personality, and has done very well with children. She would make a great kitty for anyone, but would be an especially nice kitty for a young child. Moxie is very playful, and loves wand toys and her Cat Dancer. She gets some serious air when she jumps up to catch the Cat Dancer. She plays with her kittens a lot! She will kick up lively games of kitty soccer with her babies, or spend long periods just playing chase with them. She's one of those fun moms! Even through her illness with gastrointestinal issues, she still used her litter box like a champ, even though she must have been very uncomfortable and was not feeling well at all. As soon as she was given a scratching post, she started using it immediately. She's a very good girl! Moxie is up to date on deworming, and has tested negative for FIV and Feline Leukemia. Her adoption fee includes her spay surgery, microchip and rabies shot. Hi, my name is Nubbins, I came to PFL as a stray kitten with an injury to my tail. What happened to it is forever my little secret, the injury has healed, and my fur is growing nicely to cover it up. My stubby tail does not inhibit my playful cuteness in the least. I love to run, jump climb and even demonstrate baby goat like maneuvers when really excited. Carrying little play mice around the house after stalking and batting them around is one of my favorite activities. I play nicely by myself as well as with the other cats/kittens in my foster home. I get along well and love to rub up against my foster family’s black lab dog and even make a game out of playing with his tail. I love to sit on the cat towers and am very careful to only use acceptable scratching posts to exercise my claws. I have impeccable litter box habits as well. I love to rub against my human’s face and frequently snuggle on their shoulders when they are watching TV, rewarding them with the bestest purr ever. If you would love to meet me, please fill out an application and contact my foster mom listed below! Nubbins has tested negative for FIV & Feline Leukemia, his $95.00 adoption fee includes his neuter surgery, microchip and rabies shot. For more information or to give this sweetheart the home he deserves feel free to contact her foster mom Cheryl at azderf@gmail.com or complete an application at Paws for Life NC. 053101121 show less

Paisley is a stunning calico ready for her forever home. We rescued this sweet girl from a crowded rural shelter. She was shy but wanted love so badly Once she was in a foster home she gradually came out of her shell and is now running all over the house, playing with the other cats and just embracing life. Paisley has come such a long way and is learning how wonderful a loving home life can be. She enjoys toys of all kinds, especially the laster light and tunnels. She also enjoys watching TV. She will let you pick her up to get her into a crate and we are working on lap sitting. She definitely wants to be with people and will let you pet her beautiful coat. She's food motivated so treats will go a long way to gain trust. It will take a person who has patience--who is willing to allow Paisley a few weeks to adjust--to win this girl's affection. But the payoff will be so worth it. We estimate Paisley to be under two years. She still has lots of energy but will take long afternoon naps. Paisley would do great in a home with other cats who will not take advantage of her shyness. A home with older children who can understand she will need time to adjust will also work, but she would not do well around small children or in a louder enviornment. She has been spayed, tested negative for FIV and Feline Leukemia, microchipped and is up to date on all vaccinations. If you would like more information about this very special, loving and gorgeous cat, please contact her foster mom at Melissa@pawsforlifenc.org. show less

Skipper is a sweet fellow who loves to follow you around and give leg rubs. He is is a handsome boy, about 3-5 yrs old and has done well living with the other cats he has met. He at first appears like a big tough guy but he is really just a big teddy bear. Skipper loves to sit on your lap for sweet talk and rubs. He loves to cuddle and will sit on your lap for hours. He follows you around for attention. He is quiet but communicates with you through his eyes, expression, and chirps. He really loves sitting up on a cat tree. He was a favorite at the shelter where we rescued him from. Skipper appears to have been bullied or deliberately scared by people in the past. He was initially frightened of men's conversations on the television, the sound of whistling, or clicking of tongue. He has gotten used to the sound of the TV and is very comfortable now in his foster home. He LOVES soft beds and exploring. He has learned to be very trusting of his caretaker and likes other cats. Skipper is in need of a stable environment without kids or dogs. He will not do well in a home if there is an alpha cat. Skipper is neutered, current on shots, microchipped, and negative for Felv/FIV. Contact karie@pawsforlifenc.org or complete an adoption form at pawsforlifenc.org. show less
