Zuri, who is one of the worst cases of neglect and abuse we have seen in 2022, was brought into Veterinary Emergency Group by a good Samaritan who found her laying on a dog bed on the side of the road. Zuri had tight bandage around her right front leg that was cutting of circulation, all four of her limbs had necrotic deep wounds and she was completely emaciated. After months of medical care, lots of TLC and an amazing team behind her, Zuri had her spay and leg amputation surgery and is now fully healed and ready for a furever home of her own! She is a 1 year old GSD pup full of personality and isn't afraid to show it! Zuri is in a foster home with other dogs and loves to play with them, but still learning how to properly play as she can be a little rough. She has a high prey drive so we are not recommending a home with cats or any small critters. She is currently in the phase of redesigning her beds and has decided that the stuffing looks better on the outside the cover. Girl's got a knack for interior design! She LOVES her baths because she gets a massage each time , but nails trims are a work in progress. Zuri walks great on a leash and loves going on adventures. She has not been tested with small children yet, but so far loves every human she has met. Zuri's ideal home would be with someone that is not afraid of her talking back when she is not in agreement, and will let her know she is LOVED but not the boss. She will routine, exercise, and will have to be able to watch looney tunes any time she wants, because it not only keeps her entertained but also quiet when it's break time. Overall Zuri is your typical GSD puppy and will make a great dog for the right family! If interested in adopting please fill out the adoption application on our website at animalluvrs.org under the ADOPT tab. We will require veterinary, personal and property references that we will verify. Feel free to email us at aldr@animalluvrs.org for more information. All of our adoptable rescues have a clean bill of health (unless otherwise stated), are spayed/neutered, vaccinated (age-appropriately), tested (FeLV/FIV for cats, HW for dogs over 6 months of age), current on flea and heartworm prevention and microchipped. This is all included in their adoption fee that goes in as a donation to help us cover their medical costs and continue to help other animals in need. Any questions, concerns and suggestions, please feel free to contact us at ALDR@animalluvrs.org.
