Brownie needs a special home that will be very patient with him. He had a tough life early on and has learned that he needs to always be ready to protect himself. He wants to be near his person and wants pets, but sometimes he gets scared for no apparent reason. Brownie tries very hard to be a good boy, but needs someone who will go at his pace... which is very slow. It took a month before I could pet Brownie and even after four months I only pet him when I can pay attention to his signals. It is tough because he wants to lay on your lap and rolls over for belly rubs, but he does bite when scared. Brownie doesn't care for other dogs and wants to follow his person around all day. He does better with a harness on walks and will bark at people and other dogs. Indoors he likes to lay on or next to his person and occassionally plays with a toy. He loves treats and while he knows he should do his business outside, if his person is gone for a long time or it's raining or snowing, he will use a pee pad.  His perfect home would be a one or two-person household that is quiet and doesn't include children, even for visits. Brownie likes walks around the block, but hates loud things, like the dishwasher or garbage truck. Age:  7 years Weight: 12 lbs. Please Note: All dogs are posted until they are officially adopted. Name: Charlotte (Female) Breed: Pit Bull Mix Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VT Good with dogs: Yes, with proper intros Good with cats: Unknown Good with kids: Yes, older children Crate trained: Mostly House trained: Mostly Charlotte is a very loving and affectionate girl! She absolutely loves to be with people and to be where all the action is. She loves to play outside and run as fast as she can doing zoomies when she is first let outside. Sticks from the yard, Kongs and bones will keep her occupied and happy all day! Charlotte gets along well with all dogs, but does not like a barrier in between them and will growl if there is one. She also prefers to eat alone. She does very well with kids but doesn't realize how big she is, so would probably do best in a home with older children. She has a very sweet and loving demeanor, is full of life and listens well! She absolutely loves people and being included as part of the family! Her ideal home would be with someone with time and patience to continue with her crate and house training. She will go in her crate easily for a treat but will bark if she hears activity going on in the house without her. She is doing well with house and leash training, but needs a little more practice. Good with dogs: Yes Good with cats: No Good with kids: Unknown Crate trained: Yes House trained: Yes Chevelle is the perfect blend of crazy zoomies and couch cuddles! She’s so sweet and affectionate but such a silly girl! She will keep you laughing with her antics and her expressions! Chevelle has done well with all the dogs in her foster home. She loves to just hang out or run with the dogs in the yard. She can play a bit rough, but typically corrects easily. She has not been around kids in her foster home, but she does jump up and can be mouthy in play, so would probably do best with older ones. Chevelle is easily crated when asked and is quiet inside it. She does not have accidents in there and likes to have a chew toy to keep herself occupied. She is also house trained and barks at the door to go out. She is doing well with leash training, but could use a little more practice to perfect it. Good with dogs: Yes, with proper intros Good with cats: Unknown Good with kids: Yes, older children Crate trained: Yes House trained: Yes Gannon is a high energy, playful, smiley boy who loves his people. He is very happy around other dogs and wants to play with them non-stop. He has the best ears and facial expressions that will make you laugh. He is house and crate trained, never had an accident in the house and sleeps quietly in his crate through the night. Ganon is still mentally a puppy. He is very food motivated and a fast learner. He knows commands like sit, down and wait. When he is patiently waiting for the “go” command to get his food, he may create a puddle of drool on the floor. He is fearless and happy all the time but needs more training to learn not every hour is a happy hour. Once he gets enough exercises, he loves to cuddle up on the couch and put his soft head on your lap. Gannon would love an active family who can give him enough exercises. He would love to have a playmate with similar energy as him or go to dog parks often. He will do better with a strong leader who can provide him a structured life. Since he is very smart and high energy, a professional trainer would be helpful to put things on track faster. He is friendly to all humans and dogs. He had never lived with kids. We think he is not ready for very young kids yet because he may knock them off and play rough when he gets too excited. This can be improved with proper training. He will be the perfect fit for someone who wants a true companion by their side. Please Note: All dogs currently available for adoption are posted on our website. Heavens Tabetsy

Good with dogs: Yes Good with cats: No Good with kids: No Crate trained: Yes House trained: Mostly Heavens Tabetsy (who goes by “Tabby”) is one of the sweetest and most affectionate dogs you will ever meet. She is also one of the shyest, as she gets very scared around new people and places. Tabby’s first instinct is to run away from what she is scared of, but if that is not an option, she will freeze and occasionally go to the bathroom out of fear. However, once she is comfortable with you, Tabby acts like a normal playful puppy and will shower you with kisses and cuddles! Tabby takes a few hours to warm up to a new person and about a week to become fully comfortable. She gets very attached to her people and tries to stay as close as possible around the house. She loves attention and will remind you with some hilariously uncoordinated pawing! Tabby is very playful and absolutely loves other pups! She is most comfortable around other dogs, and she will need a home with at least one confident pup to help show her the ropes. When she is not playing, Tabby is very calm inside and will relax next to her person or in her crate. The crate is her safe space and she is always happy to spend time there. Tabby is fully leash trained and is looking for an adopter who will continue to expose her to new situations. She might never warm up immediately to new people, but she is already making great progress learning that the world is not so scary! Tabby is a special girl, and if you give her time to warm up, the affection and gratitude she gives in return will make you fall madly in love. Age: 3 years Weight: 50 lbs. Good with dogs: Yes, with proper intros Good with cats: Unknown, likely no Good with kids: yes, older kids (16+) Crate trained: Yes House trained: Yes Joaquin is such a sweet boy! He loves playing with other dogs. He has a moderately high energy level, but if you walk him daily and make sure he has chew toys, he enjoys spending a good portion of the day as a couch potato! Joaquin enjoys other higher energy dogs and enjoys a rough and tumble playtime. He gets nervous around men and needs slow intros to them. If Joaquin is around people that understand his need to come to them on his own terms, he will do great. Inside the home, he needed to be reminded of his manners when jumping but he is a dream. When walking, he will pull and is reactive to other dogs, so he will need continued training at his new home. Joaquin is a great snuggle buddy and he is so easy to fall in love with! His perfect furever family would be active each day! Good with dogs: Yes Good with cats: Unknown, likely no Good with kids: Yes, older children Crate trained: Yes House trained: Yes Junior is an extremely energetic fellow that just loves to cuddle, thrash around with toys and play with other dogs. He likes to chew on toys (and really anything he can sink his teeth into, so put those shoes in the closet). His signature move is rolling over on his back when in your lap, then jumping up and running out some zoomies. His perfect household is active, ready to work on structure and has another very playful dog. He is still learning his manners when it comes to playing, and can be mouthy with people as he tries to get their attention. Junior's ideal home will not have small children because of this. Junior does okay on a leash, though sometimes pulls out of sheer excitement, and loves to walk with other dogs. Occasionally he will try to walk himself by chewing on the leash and playing tug of war. Junior has made great strides on crate training and potty training. He will now happily snooze in his crate even when other dogs are nearby and alert by whining when he needs to go out to potty. Junior is a hilarious, hyper ball of energy and will be a fantastic addition to a lucky family. Please Note: All dogs currently available for adoption are posted on our website. Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VT Good with dogs: Yes Good with cats: Yes Good with kids: Yes, older children Crate trained: Yes House trained: Yes Karen is a sweet girl and an extremely loving companion; but she does need some time to build trust.  She takes a little bit of time to warm up but once she does, she is absolutely full of love, kindness and power snuggles.  She really enjoys snuggling and being close to people.  She has come a long way and really benefits from being with another dog who she feels will love, protect her and show her the ropes of being an independent animal.  She really enjoys running outside and has learned to play fetch and retrieve tennis balls by hanging out with her older, foster brothers.  Karen is also a very low maintenance dog and really loves to lay in her crate and relax.  She also redefines the word couch potato and has become a professional wrestler as her side hustle.  Karen is the perfect mix of relaxing and being a couch potato to turning it up with some sprints around the yard, some backyard brawls (wrestling) and chasing the chuck it balls.  She is an absolute love and will make a great addition to any home.  As she is still skittish, she would really benefit from a fenced in yard as well as being with another dog.  She has no issues with cats aside from wanting to play with them. Good with dogs: Yes Good with cats: Unknown Good with kids: Yes, older children Crate trained: Working on it House trained: Yes Special Adoption Opportunity! --- Kylie is a playful, sweet lady who loves to lay by her human's side, play in the yard, and be with her foster siblings. Kylie has been up north since January, and she is a totally different dog these days. She is timid and anxious around new people and in new situations, but give her time and share some cheese and she'll warm up to you- and others- in no time. She is very gentle, house trained, listens great and does well with routine! She gets along great with other dogs- they play, share toys, and Kylie follows them around a lot. Kylie loves being around her house mates so much, so she is still working a bit on her separation anxiety in the crate. She can be left for several hours at a time but may bark. She will need continued training to settle in the crate, even when her humans are around, and will likely be a better fit for a home where she won’t bother neighbors. She likes walks but is still getting used to being on a leash in noisy areas. Having a yard would be pretty ideal! Kylie has so much love to give, and with just a little patience she will be sure to shower you with it. She can’t wait to meet her FURever family. ---Kylie is currently undergoing Heartworm treatment and while she has finished the bulk of it, she does have some minor medical care to complete. She is available for a medical foster who will eventually adopt her once she is medically cleared. All medical costs during this treatment are covered by LHK9. Any potential adopter would need to be available to take her to Heal Veterinary Clinic in Watertown for monthly blood tests until she is all clear. All she wants in life is to eat, snuggle, and sleep! She will make an amazing companion dog to a very lucky family. Margaret is looking for a more low-key home where she can spend her days snuggling and snoozing. She needs careful intros to other pups, with time allowed for decompression. Once she has been introduced, she absolutely adores her puppy pals! Margaret hasn't gotten close to any cats, but she hasn't liked seeing them from a distance. If she is housed with a cat, the introduction should be slow and cautious. Margaret isn't a big fan of the crate, but she has adjusted to it well. Margaret is gentle, calm and loves affection. Her ideal home will be a stable, structured environment with a safe yard for energetic play. Maxine is an exceptionally athletic and eager playmate who will require a good throwing arm for her favorite pastime! She is a devoted dog who thrives under a caring, committed and confident master. Otherwise, she tends to be insecure, which manifests as reactivity toward strangers, unfamiliar dogs and surprise situations. Slow intros are a must with new dogs, and she needs time to warm up to unknown people. Maxine has had muzzle training to help ensure safety during initial encounters. Once she learns to trust and feels secure, she blossoms into a faithful and endearing pup! So does Poppy! She's selective about who she allows in her crew, but once you're in Poppy's club, you have VIP access for life. This girl is incredibly loving, snugly, loyal, goofy, and fun. She's down for whatever you're feeling that day, whether it's a nap in the sun or a hike in the woods. She's always there to keep you company, whatever the activity. Poppy's house manners and obedience are 10/10. How many dogs can be eye level with a steak while you're in the other room and not even bat an eye? Although she is crate trained, she has also proven herself trustworthy of being left alone. Looking for a walking or running companion? Poppy keeps whatever pace you set. And have no fear of running at night, Poppy is always ready to protect "her person". She thrives best in a one-dog home, outside of highly trafficked areas. She loves to run and play with other dogs. Rowan is skeptical of strangers, especially when new people are entering her home, so she requires an adopter that will be patient with her and advocate for her needs (slow introductions to strangers in a controlled environment). She is slower to warm up to men than women, however, once Rowan knows you, she wants all the love and snuggles! Rowan does well on leash but shouldn’t be left unattended in fenced in areas because she has tried to dig in the past – she does great when supervised. She would love a home with room for her to run and play.
