Take a look at this handsome guy!  Outlaw is a well-trained, friendly, happy dog who is looking for an active home with lots of love.  He is a goofy guy who loves to snuggle, be close and go on long walks.  He likes to play tug and chase balls in short sessions. This boy is a love-bug who likes to lean into his people to get close.  He just loves being with his people!  He behaves well, doesn’t jump on people and knows all the basic commands plus “place” “wait” “leave it” and “drop it.”  This highly trainable dog has also learned to “twist” around and between his owner’s legs - who knows what else he can learn! Outlaw is crate trained, loves to ride in the car and is non-reactive to people and new experiences.  He does have a high prey drive for cats, squirrels and other small animals, so cats in the home are a no-go.  Outlaw is great with children and adults.  He can annoy other dogs though.  He isn’t aggressive with them but can play too rough and not respect their boundaries, so he may be best as the only dog in the family.  Outlaw is dearly loved by his current family.  Their decision to re-home him is based solely upon his prey drive for cats.  When they adopted him in 2022, they were unaware of this issue and have worked diligently to address it to no avail.  They are also not able to give him the time and attention he deserves due to having several young children in the home.  Although he is not neutered yet, he will be in the near future prior to being adopted.  Note that Outlaw has had ear infections in the past that are likely allergy related.  This issue is being evaluated to determine the specific allergy. Remi is approximately 9 months old and a Dutch/GSD mix. She finished her heat cycle and was able to be spayed recently. Remi is up to date on her vaccines, and ready for you! Remi is still working on becoming fully housebroken and crate trained. She will go into her crate without fuss, but if she wants out, she will try to find a way to escape. Remi’s basic obedience is lacking, as she really only knows sit, but her foster mom reports that her house manners are good- stays off furniture on her own, no counter surfing, responds to a simple “no,” and settles with a chew toy when its asked of her. The only time she’s been vocal is when she wants out of her crate. She is a slow eater and will ignore her food if she isn’t hungry. Remi is a Velcro girl that seems to prefer women and children. She is timid at first, but is very sweet. She has been good with cats and loves to play with her foster sister. Remi loves the water and to chew…on everything, so she will need to be taught and given appropriate outlets for chewing.  This little baby has a beautiful coat that is mostly black with a little bit of brindling on her legs and chest. Her foster mom thinks that she would be good starter Dutchie for a first timer due to her relatively low drive. Very relaxed in the kennel and happy to come out for potty breaks and stretch his legs. Today is his first day hanging out at work with us and he’s doing great! Doesn’t seem to know many commands, but is pretty good on leash and is loving all the attention from our staff. He seems a little picky on treats that he likes, but he seems to like the ball. He doesn’t sit still for photos yet but we will work on it Franz is very playful and doing well with his foster family. He is happy as a clam and is loving his new found freedom. Rue was pulled from the Dallas animal shelter after he was found severely emaciated and with an obstruction in his eye. Rue's eye has been fixed and is healing nicely. Shay was found as a skinny and nervous stray and  was picked up by Animal Control.  Recogizing the breed and knowing she woud do better with a breed rescue, we were contacted and found a local foster who could take her in. Shay is still deompressiong but has done great with neutral dogs and is very people focused. Sugar is a beautiful 3-year old Dutch shepherd. She is an energetic and playful girl. She has high prey drive so she will not be placed in a home with children or small pets.    Sugababe takes a little time to warm up, but with continued socialization this should improve.    Sugababe will be going to a training boot camp prior to foster placement. Taz is a 10 months old neutered male malinois. Taz was found alone and scared near Orlando, FL.  The finder took him to a vet to look for a chip but he didn't have one.  As a malinois owner herself she wanted him to be safe and to go to the proper home so she reached out to MAD Rescue.  He is a little nervous and scared with men, but has been able to warm up with time and patience. He will require strong and confident handlers in the home to teach boundaries to prevent him resource guarding his humans. He enjoys playing with his foster friends, but can be dog selective. He does not care for unaltered male dogs and can be selective about others. He really enjoys playing with the dogs he chooses and has made a few friends at the trainers home. He has great drive and would do well in a working or sport home only. He is a total love bug, but would NOT do well as a couch potato. He does well with dog savvy children as well.  Taz would likely not do well with cats or small dogs.  All MAD dogs come with a Fi Collar and one-year subscription.
