Asher is a wonderful young male Malinois.  He was brought to the attention of MAD Rescue by a volunteer at an animal shelter. Asher had been surrendered to them after an accident damaged his left ear and a partial amputation was done.  A team from MAD Rescue went to evaluate him, recognized he was a happy go lucky puppy in a bad situation and pulled him from the shelter. The ear in healing well. From the surrender forms it was learned that he had lived in an apartment and his only time outside of it was to go potty on leash.  As with so many working breed dogs, this was not an environment where he was able to thrive.  He is now in his foster home and is doing great.  He is still learning his potty routine, but otherwise is fabulous in the house.   Asher is a medium energy dog, intelligent and affectionate.  He has not been kid tested, but it is likely that he could live with elementary aged or older children.  He has not been cat tested.  He loves to play fetch and tug, but is also good with chilling on the couch or in bed.  He is an alert dog and is aware of sounds and activity in his environment.  This sometimes elicits woofs and barks as he tries to figure out what's happening, especially if someone is entering the home.  He does well on walks and loves to be with people.  As he was lacking dog socialization, he is learning lots of dog skills from his foster sister and has been given the opportunity to meet other dogs as well.   If you are interested in adopting or fostering this pet, please complete an application at this link https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/24689/generic . Hello World my name is Astrid, and I play ball. I was a stray wandering the streets when a caring Animal Welfare Society officer picked me up. They said I was a good girl and they gave me a BALL!!! The shelter was fun but it wasn't home. I am a happy girl, love balls, and can play fetch all day. My foster mom picked me up today, and I am so happy that MAD came to my rescue. The folks at the shelter approximate my age between one and 3 years old and I appear to have already had a litter of puppies. I am heartworm negative, UTD on shots and will be spayed and chipped before long. This is a cool foster home and I am having a good time. I can run, run, run and run as much as I want. I am a true Malinois with a ton of energy and ball drive. I will need plenty of space, and a job. A fur brother or sister would be okay too. My foster mom says I am super easy to handle. All I want is to be loved by my human, and play ball. Astrid has been great with her foster's dogs. She doesn't really care about them but when she does Astrid goes in for a proper meet and greet every time.   She can't be tested for cats because her foster home doesn't have any.   Stay tuned.  Astrid will be up for adoption soon. If you are interested in adopting Astrid or any of our available dogs please complete an application and begin the screening process!!!   If you would like to discuss this animal additionally please fill out an application. Cajun is a one year old purebred Malinois located in Washington state. He was an owner surrender due to his reactivity to motorcycles. Cajun is a solid guy at 90 pounds and about 28 inches tall at the shoulders. His large size does not slow him down one bit. He is agile, athletic, fast, can get some serious air, and has a great ball drive. He will work for treats or his toys and picks up new tricks very quickly. He is a rare boy and is good with dogs, cats, and even lived near chickens and didn’t chase them. Cajuns foster has a 10 year old boy and Cajun loves to follow him around and they play together for hours. Due to his size and rambunctious nature he might be too much for smaller kiddos as he might knock them over on accident.  Cajun sometimes reacts to bicycles and that is something his foster is working on along with recall and playing politely. Some of Cajun's favorite things? Playing with his foster kid, playing fetch, tug, his double-handled Kong ball, playing “find it”, going for long walks, and chasing the lure. Cajun would excel in scent work or a sport like FastCAT or maybe even dock diving. He loves being with his people and would also make a great dog for an active family. Calypso is a beautiful older girl located near Dallas-Ft Worth, TX who was owner surrendered at 11 years old. She would love a quiet home where she can be the perfect, loving companion. She is friendly and loves attention! She is also active and enjoys a couple walks a day and chasing a ball - she loves to chase!! Then, in the evening, cuddle up to watch a movie - preferably one with a dog in it! :-). She lived with a female Mal for years, and should do ok with another dog if they aren't all in her face. Children would need to understand this 'rule' as well - give her her space. She is crate-trained and housebroken. She lived with a cat for 8 years that was pretty chill. She may do ok in a home with a calm, older cat and be able to be redirected - no promises. Cyrus is a 3 year old Dutch Shepherd. He is a very good boy and very smart, he just needs some direction and training. He's a quick learner and has already mastered, "wait", "easy" and is learing not to pull on the leash. He is learning to heel nicely on a martingale collar. Cyrus is a bit skittish and lacks confidence. With a gentle yet strong leader he will become confident and a very well behaved dog. He loves to play ball and be at your side  and loves cats. No children and is untested with medium to large dogs. Foster is a possible adopter for this dog. Foster still working on socialization, not available for adoption at this time. Cyrus has been walking very well on the leash and he was put on the long line in the yard and loved it. He is a bit tentative with toys outside (jolly egg and jolly ball) He is coming along wonderfully with his commands. He now waits to be leashed to go outside and when he comes in with sit, wait and stay until he is asked to come inside the house.  If you are interested in adopting or fostering this pet, please complete an application at this link https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/24689/generic .  We are an official 501C3 organization that does not have a physical location.  This is Dusty. He’s between 4 and 6 years old, and he’s been bounced around over the last few months.  He’s as smart as any Mal and picks up on new routines and requests of him quickly. He takes treats gently, and you can even feed him from your hand. He’s reliably house trained and will go towards the door to let you know he has to go out. He rides great in the car, jumps in willingly and doesn’t try to bolt when you go to get him out. He was fantastic at the vet and scored highly on temperament testing. He doesn’t like being in the kennel, but his foster family is working on getting him more acclimated to it.  He will let you know by barking that he isn’t happy to be there, but does not try to escape and will settle down in a few minutes. If it’s fuzzy or squeaky, he will destroy it, but he does great with kong toys and chuck its. He does best with fetch if you either wait for him to drop it or have another to trade. He will drop it and back up so you can pick it up. He knows sit, down, stay/wait, paw, here/come and out. He's shown signs of being dog selective and a little jealous of sharing the humans with other furry family members. His leash manners are good and he's been polite on leash inside with female and male canine housemates. We would like to introduce to you, 9 month old Hazel! Hazel requires an experienced home. She is not good with cats and will not be placed in a home with either. She needs a home with no child or older respectful children that are dog savvy, 9 years old and over. She is a very sweet and loving dog. When Hazel likes someone and has gotten comfortable with them, she will crawl right up on your lap to cuddle. Her "circle of trust" is small and she becomes nervous when stranges come into it. Hazel is a purebred Malinois who is up to date on vaccinations. She will be spayed and HW tested soon. She is currently on treatment for hookworm and giardia. Hazel is said to love her crate, but is not fully potty trained yet.  Hazel experiences a list of things that cause her anxiety so she will need a home that is patient and can work with her on overcoming these fears. Her past home said that she wasn't aggressive, but fearful and timid with small children, strangers, bicycles/scooters/skateboards, backpacks/jackets, loud noises (car horns, garbage cans, etc.) - basically, most new stimuli that she is introduced to causes a fear reaction. Her response is not aggression, but she cowers, tucks her tail, and tries to retreat to find a hiding place.  Hazel appears to be a lower drive Mal, however, that may change as she overcomes some of her fears and finishes up her treatment for parasites. She will play with the ball and tug toy, but seems to lose interest quickly. She is inquisitive about squirrels, but does not like cats! Hazel has had very little training. The home she is in now has started her on the basics, but her new home will need to work with her to accomplish these skills. She is moderately driven by food and cheese is her favorite treat! She has not been destructive indoors and respects the boundaries of her crate. Hazel also does well riding in the car. Hazel has not had much exposure to other dogs at this time. Her former owner said that she has done well with both males and females when introduced gradually and has not shown any aggression toward other dogs. She's never been to a dog park or doggie day care, so we are unsure how Hazel will react to introductions to groups of other dogs. This girl needs a home who will help her with baby steps! Hazel is located in the Chicago, Illinois area. If you are interested in adopting Hazel, please complete an application at this link https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/24689/generic .  We are an official 501C3 organziation that does not have a physical location. Kiki favors women but will warm up to men. Men just have to be calm when interacting her with then she will open up. Kiki needs a soft handler as hard correction will cause her to shut down. An only dog home is ideal but can she can be ok with other dog as long as the introduction is done correctly and the other dog is calm/trained.   Kiki needs an active to semi active home. Young or older couple is fine. Walks great on leash. Rides in car good. If unattended she will find something to make her own toy lol. Loves to be around her human. Kennels good. Family with older kids is ok. Not aggressive with food or toys. Yet can be mouthy with toys, not on purpose you just have to watch her if your holding one. Wouldn't recommend house with cats. Needs continued confidence building so a human who understands that and can help her get over it more. She is ok out in public, again just needs more confidence. Looking for a chill cuddle bug for you and your family? A dog that can hang with you on the farm and your couch? Lance could be your guy! Lance is a Belgian Malinios/German Shepherd mix that loves attention so much one person's love may not be enough. He loves everyone but seems to attach to women more. At his foster he lives with dogs, a cow, and chickens. He seems curious about cats but we are unsure how he would do in close quarters with one. He is a bigger boy at 75 pounds and tall but he gets along well with kids of all ages. Lance doesn't seem to have very much ball drive and seems content to just get love from his family. His foster says Lance gives hugs, prances around his yard like a horse and is the sweetest boy with no mean bone in his body.  The perfect family for Lance would be a couple or a family that is home a lot and can just shower him with love. Luka is a gorgeous 3-5 year old Malinois located in  Oklahoma where he is with an amazing foster who saw him through heartworm treatment, is teaching him manners, and letting him know what it feels like to be part of a family and not a stray roaming the streets. He is soaking up the love and can't get enough affection. He loves attention! Luka is reactive to cats and small animals and wants very much to investigate. We have not been able to access how he is with children other than letting a child at the vet clinic pet him; He did well at the vet and interacted with several people there with no issues. He rides in a car well, although he does move around a lot. His recall is coming along nicely, as long as you keep his attention. You will need to continue his off-leash training.  Luckily MAD Rescue provides a Fi-Collar (GPS) and service for one year too! He is good with his feet being touched, taking medicine, and putting a collar and leash on him. Overall he has a great temperament. He seems to get along with other male and female dogs, although he does try to show dominance with males.  Luka's ball and toy drive is developing as his foster shows him fun doggy games. He loves treats, especially cow ears. He also loves sleeping in the bed with his/her human and bonds to his people. Luca knows 'sit' and is learning a lot more with his foster. He is like a sponge. Lots of opportunities here to encourage him and challenge him with mental stimulation.   Luka has completed his heartworm treatment and just needs to limit his activity a bit until about June 20 and a heartworm checkup in a couple months. If you want to adopt him and give him the life he never had full of love, learning and adventure, please apply. She is cautious and can be reactive with strangers and does better with women, than men. Slow intros to men are needed and she would prefer to be quiet household with not much in and out activity. Proper introductions with dogs are also necessary.  She is high drive and could be a sport dog candidate. She will need an handler experienced with high drive dogs and not someone who expects a social dog to take to bars, cafes or dog parks, or expect to have lots of people over to the house. Myrina is a sweet 8-year-old female Malinois with spunk. She is very timid yet playful. She loves food, squeaky toys and chases the ball. She pulls on the leash. She gets too excited around other dogs and will need to learn proper social skills. She got scared of a stethoscope and snapped at it; thus, she is rescue only. She will need much training but she is eager and willing - sitting, downing and coming for treats.  She will be UTD on vaccines and spayed before she leaves the shelter.  If you are interested in adopting or fostering this pet, please complete an application at this link https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/24689/generic .  We are an official 501C3 organization that does not have a physical location. Oakland is a loyal and loving Malinois.  His foster refers to him a big goofball!  He loves life, but is happy to hang out on the couch or the bed.  Being with his people is important to him and he will let you know if there is attention that needs to be directed toward him.  Playtime with a ball or toy is fun, but bringing it back when thrown is a work in progress.  Squeaking toys are a favorite.   He has a foster brother currently and he loves to wrestle with him.  His foster parents are aware to watch for any brotherly dominance issues between them. He lived with kids in the past and loves them.  Gets along well with other dogs. Also loves to give kisses and get belly rubs. Oakland was relinquished to Sioux City Animal Control by his former family as there was an incident with a bicycle. It seems that he was teased prior in his life by someone on a bicycle and he reacted and was surrendered.   His foster has been working on it with him and he seems to be ok now with no reaction to bicycles. MAD Rescue also incudes a martingale collar, tag and an activated Fi tracking collar. The Fi tracking collar will remain activated for one year after which it becomes the obligation of the approved adopter to continue service. Odin is a beautiful, around 1-2 year-old male Belgian Malinois. His foster says he is a gem of a dog! He is very smart, picks up anything quickly and is eager to work.  He couldn't be farther from what the shelter made him out to be! Yes, he is a bit apprehensive at first but a few yummy treats, patience and kind words, he warms up to his handler, leans in and seeks affectiion! He is very uncomfortable about crates! He's such a sweet boy with eyes that stare into your soul! Odin needs an experienced handler who understands and respects the breed AND someone who is kind and affectionate. He will need someone who puts him to work and channels his high energy to bring out his full potential. He needs an active and structured home. He is a big dog and will need continued obedience and socialization.  He is good with neutral dogs but doesn't like it when dogs rush at him. He's good with kids. Interested in cats and hasn't reacted to them.  Housebroken with supervision - may get into mischief if left alone. He's getting better at walking on leash and will need more work.  He will be availabel as of June 3rd.  If you are interested in adopting this pet please complete an application at this link https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/24689/generic .  We are an official 501C3 organziation that does not have a physical location.
