Valentine was rescued last Feb, she is a Pyrenees Anatolian mix, about 70 lbs, had a liver shunt and had surgery to help her. She still needs medicine 3x a day. She is very sweet and beautiful, she loves her humans and wants to be sure they are safe at all times. She is a good girl, a bit shy out of her element but as long as she has you she feels safe. This sweet girl came from South Texas. You could see every bone in her body and she winced at any movement made. Shortly after she got settled in at her foster home, she got really sick. She suffered from an intussusception and was rushed into an emergency surgery we feared she wouldn’t make it out of.. but she did! When they did her blood work, they discovered that her liver was not functioning correctly, so we began treating that. For months her foster nursed her back to health and helped her gain weight, strength, and confidence. However, her battle wasn’t over yet, she still needed surgery to correct her liver shunt. She got her surgery in October, and she is healing well! She has been through so much, and she deserves the best life. She is a great dog and really easy, and while she is timid at first, once she warms up the derpy-ness and love comes pouring out of her. She needs a home with someone who can give her her medication every 8 hours. Valentine is great with other pups, playful and gentle and doesn’t bother her foster sibling kitty.
