Indy has made strides since Hurricane Harvey.  He is still shy at first and definitely prefers women to men but he is a sweet boy who loves his daily walks.  He gets so excited and runs to his spot that his harness gets put on.  He loves other dogs and still probably needs a fur sibling to help entertain and guide him.  He is not your typically snuggle bug, he prefers to lay on his own and watch all the action from afar. Indy was rescued from Houston in the wake of Hurricane Harvey; he came from a shelter in Houston. Indy is a shy boy.  He has definitely not experienced love and attention his whole life.  He is always sure to place himself in a position he can see from all angles what might be coming at him.  We say he is ‘on standby’ at all times.  In the few weeks the foster has had him he has made great progress but still has a long way to go.  He is very sweet and has showed no signs of aggression even when scared.  He gets along well with other dogs, foster thinks he probably needs a fur sibling to help show him the way.  Indy will be a loyal, loving dog one day it is just going to take some patience, love and consistency to get him to trust for the first time ever.  If you are up for the challenge and huge reward in the end; this sweet guy is for you.  Our first priority is to provide these dogs with a safe, loving place to lay their head and recover after a traumatic situation. Indy is estimated to be about 5 years old, weighs about 40 pounds.  All Dallas DogRRR adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. The standard minimum donation for puppies is $300, dogs over 12 months is $200 and for our senior dogs $100. Jack is making some great strides! He absolutely loves being outside and watching people walk by. He still doesn’t like having the leash put on but once we’re outside he totally forgets about the leash and walks/ prances very well. When we’re inside he prefers to be in his crate and hasn’t really tried to venture out but this morning he came out on his own and sat next to me for about 5 minutes before getting up and going back to his crate so we’re definitely making progress! Jack and his two sisters were surrendered to local shelter; only 6 months old and so adorable and deserving of a good home.  They are a bit scared right now as they are not sure what has happened in their little worlds.  We are certain they will adjust quickly with consistency and love. All Dallas DogRRR adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Jade is super loving, playful, crate trained, house trained (uses doggy door), rarely barks.  She shakes hands and gives the sweetest puppy dog eyes.  She loves chewing so it is important to have things she can crunch on.  Found a chew toy she loves.  She is still working on getting excited about car rides. Jade is a stunningly exotic female from storm ridden Puerto Rico. She was one of the many homeless dogs living on the beaches trying the best to survive.  As the people struggled to put their lives back together the dogs on the island were forgotten. Jade can be a little shy at first, but she warms up quickly. She is looking for a furever home that will have a little patience with her until she is comfortable then promises to fill them full of kisses and cuddles!  What else makes her unique is that she has one brown eye and one black eye!  This pretty girl has come a LONG way since her days on the beach!  But we've seen and know it is well worth the journey once that bond is built.  This sweet beautiful girl so deserves a chance to show her people are good and where she can run and start living her best life! All Dallas DogRRR adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption.  The standard minimum donation for puppies is $300, dogs over 12 months is $200 and for our senior dogs $100.  You can view all the adoptable pets and fill out an adoption application online on our website at http://dallasdogrrr.org.  For more information, you can email adopt@dallasdogrrr.org. Jazzy is such a sweet girl and is doing so well now that she is getting the care she needed.  She is almost well enough to have some much needed dental work done.  Poor girl must have been in some pain. She is spunky and sweet and loves relaxing in the sun.  Her fur is growing back fluffy and shiny.  No shedding.  Gets along with cats and dogs. Recommmend calmer animals so they don’t get too rough with her. Here is what we know about little Jazzy. She was picked up as a stray in a SE suburb of Dallas. No collar, no chip.Terrible diminished condition. She has various health issues, but is heartworm negative and her blood work looks surprisingly good. She is a strong little thing. The possibility is, of course, that she has been on her own a very long time OR that she just went stray after a long period of neglect. I have some thoughts on this based on what I see in her behavior. She was in terrible shape, as the pictures show, and she does have some ongoing health and wellness concerns, but her situation tonight is greatly improved. She was immediately taken to a vet, where she spent the day and had major wellness issues addressed.   She is a dear little girl. Very soft, very sweet. Surprisingly mobile and strong. I'd be guessing 14-16 years old, maybe?  She is so happy for some good food and a safe place to rest.  To get comfortable she circles and scruffs and circles and scruffs and then flops into a bed nest. Jiggy’s owners left her behind when they moved. Jiggy stayed loyal to her owners by staying in the property in case they came back; unfortunately she was hit by a car one day while she ventured out looking for food. Due to lack of proper care after her accident, her spine grew crooked causing her to be incontinent (meaning she doesn’t have full control of her bladder or defecation). Jiggy Jill doesn’t realize that she is different than any other dog. She is able to run and play. She is truly the happiest, silliest and most active pup. Jiggy gets along with other dogs, cats and loves humans. Jiggy is special needs and requires extra care. She is on a special prescription food which keeps her poops solid for easy clean up. She is also trained to wear diapers and overalls while she is indoors. Jiggy Jill might have been a throw away stray who nobody cared for but we want to give her the best quality life. She definitely deserves it. All Dallas DogRRR adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Julie is SO sweet and very mellow overall.  She is an older gal with a bit of arthritis in her hips and back legs but she still has a lot of love to give.  She has energy and spunk when she is ready for attention.  She would be so perfect for a quieter home where she can be the main one getting all the attention.  She gets along with all dogs and people but she is currently having to vye for the attention with several other dogs and we know she would be happier in a home where she is the only queen. Julie’s such a pretty girl.  She has come a long way in a few months. She’s at a healthy weight, her black fur is coming in so nice and soft. She was treated for HW and should be fully cleared at her upcoming 6-month checkup.  She loves to be near her person and we look forward to seeing her journey continue.  Such a great dog that needs lots of love, who doesn't want that!   Julie was found abandoned in deplorable conditions, Romo and Julie were left to survive on their own after their elderly family moved out and left them behind.  Both were dirty, smelly and covered in fleas from living most of the time in a cage in the back.  She does not like cages these days, but does well alone in the house.
