My foster parents affectionately call me Buddy Boy and even though I’m blind and deaf sometimes I think I can hear them.  I’m 14 years old, slow, arthritic and slightly HW positive.  Frank Sinatra is pretty appropriate cause I do things 'My Way'.  With all those things working against me I’m still very sweet, clever, calm and smart.  I have a good appetite, I’m good at taking my meds, I have good potty manners and I sleep a lot.  I’m good at riding in the car (no whining) and my fosters buckle me in the back seat.  I mastered the doggy door in just one weekend and when my fosters are home I get to go in and out as often as I like.  I love sunning, smelling the fresh air and rolling in the grass.  I love my fosters big back yard because I can walk around at my own pace and keep my joints loose.   How am I clever you ask?  When I want food or water I’ve learned to go to the back door and turn around like I just came in. Turn left and after several steps I’ll U-Turn to the right and feel my way along the china hutch and when I get to the end I know my food and water will be there.  I’ve learned where I am by the feel of the carpet, tile, or the plastic runner so I’m really good at finding my bed.  I still bump into things but my fosters have placed pillows & things on anything that can hurt me since I use my head to find my way.  Things my fosters do to help me:  Before touching me, they put their hand in front of my nose so I know someone is there and I’m not startled. I have a safe zone with a comfy bed and I can’t be tripped over.  They use drops of vanilla extract to help me find my way.  They don’t move anything once I’ve mastered it like where my food is or the furniture.   I would love a forever family and home to live out the remainder of my years, could that be you? Geisha is coming out of her shell after her unfortunate past.  Such a beautiful, loving girl.  She is a white shepherd mix around 4 years old and 35 pounds. Geisha is another pup rescued from an abandoned situation with several other dogs...what is now known as the "hell house".  She is shy and super scared she looks down in shame and will take treats from your hands and with patience and time she will come around. When offering treats she would take from my hand and lick my hand and smell it. She stayed close to my area and did not see me out but she would make eye contact which is getting better and better. She did not alway hide her head. Please consider giving her a chance at a loving home.  She is heartworm positive and needs to be spayed but we will take care of this. She's the smartest and most expressive dog I've fostered.  She is sweet but a little anxious which I think is typical for the breed.  Highly trainable and bonds hard with her human. Gemma is blossoming into such a beautiful, loving, sweet girl.  She is going to make someone very happy with all the love she has to share. Such a beautiful, sweet girl and good momma.   Poor Gemma came from a hoarding situation where she and her week old puppies were not getting the care and nutrition they needed.  She was too thin and weak to be able to nurse her babies.  Only 23 pounds. They are all safe in a foster home and beginning to look much healthier.  Gemma is a sweet little momma to her 5 puppies. All Dallas DogRRR adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption.  The standard minimum donation for puppies is $300, dogs over 12 months is $200 and for our senior dogs $100.  You can view all the adoptable pets and fill out an adoption application online on our website at http://dallasdogrrr.org.  For more information, you can email adopt@dallasdogrrr.org.
